Chapter 589: Maximo, What a Clown!

Book:A King Reborn in Shadows Published:2024-10-8

Tonight was destined to be a sleepless one.
The entire city was enveloped in an atmosphere of war, tumultuous and grim.
Maximo had originally thought that at most two thousand people would come, but now that number had been reached.
Seven more factions were on their way, which meant the total could exceed five thousand.
Maximo was thrilled.
Niarak, do you see?
This is the strength of me, Maximo!
After today, I’d like to see which blind fool dares to disrespect me!
Flynn, you’ll be the first I strike on my path to kingship!
“Report! The five branch masters of the Eight Extremities School are about to reach the city, bringing with them seventy Semi-Grandmasters and three thousand Inner Strength experts!”
An underling rushed in to report.
“Good! Let the decision-makers rest for a bit; I’ll go welcome the brothers from the Eight Extremities School!” Maximo strode out of the hall, thunderously departing.
These five branch masters were his reliance, his blood-sworn brothers.
He, Maximo, must meet them thirty miles out!
Soon enough, news swirled around Niarak and reached Orion’s ears.
“This Maximo, what a clown!” Orion, being massaged at the time, slightly lifted his hand, and an underling immediately handed him a cigar.
Amidst the swirling smoke, Orion’s demeanor was calm, his lips curling into a cold smirk.
“Orion, shouldn’t we go take a look?” asked Edwin.
“Why bother? Want to catch the boss’s bad mood?” Orion exhaled a puff of smoke and dug at his ear, saying:
“Maximo and Braiden crossed Rose and Scarlet, they’ve touched the boss’s raw nerve. The Niarak branch’s doorway will turn into hell.”
“Why go there? If he’s still in a foul mood, we’ll get scolded too.”
Edwin hadn’t seen the King of the Underworld enraged. Orion, who was daily in the Demon Island Prison, had.
When the King of the Underworld was angry, corpses lay for miles.
It wasn’t an exaggeration.
Back when Night Shadow was audacious, a peak Great Grandmaster, he just stole one of Flynn’s collections of beauties’ portraits and ended up being whipped to tears, sunburnt for three days straight.
Night Shadow’s two foes took pleasure in his misfortune, but Flynn dragged them over, slapped their mouths askew, and hung them up in the playground to sunburn alongside Night Shadow for three days.
With so many precedents, Orion wouldn’t dare attract such misfortune.
“The Eight Extremities School’s Niarak branch is at the summit of Cloudgate Mountain, right? Heh, Edwin, just watch, it’ll rain blood there soon!”
“Maximo will never understand the kind of person he’s provoked!”
Hearing Orion’s words, Edwin suddenly recalled the scene two months ago when Flynn went to Radwich Mountain to kill Sebastian, and he shivered.
“Orion’s right, let’s just stay put in the club.”
Orion smiled, handing him a cigar and said, “That’s more like it. Why not just enjoy ourselves? Maximo and Braiden, they don’t even get that, the fools!”
At 11 PM.
After Flynn’s treatment, Rose’s vitality had largely recovered.
Scarlet’s swelling had gone down.
Molly sat on the couch in a daze, unable to believe everything that had happened today.
Flynn had completely overturned her understanding.
That he was strong in martial arts was one thing, but his medical skills surpassed even hers.
Twenty minutes of acupuncture and a prescription had cleared the congestion in Rose’s body.
Flynn’s miraculous medical skills were something not even her own master could match.
Facing Flynn, Molly could no longer be proud.
She even felt as if she had been slapped in the face.
Was everything Rose had now thanks to Flynn?
And what about the God of War Cruz?
Molly was confused, unclear about many things, but she had no time to think about these now. Persuading Flynn to abandon his quest for revenge was the immediate priority.
“Do you really have to go?” Molly asked Flynn, frowning.
She had just called Barney, hoping her grandfather could help.
But Barney’s exact words-Flynn doesn’t need the Spencer family’s help.
Molly misunderstood, thinking her grandfather meant that if Flynn dared to cause trouble, he should handle it himself; the Spencer family wouldn’t waste their favors on him.
She had no idea that when Barney said Flynn alone was enough, he meant it quite literally.
Additional help would be superfluous.
After all, wasn’t this the man whom the overlord of the Northern Territory called master, capable of eliminating Maximo as easily as crushing a bug?
Scarlet clutched at Flynn’s sleeve, shaking her head and pleading, “I don’t want you to go, you can’t go, I can’t just watch you walk into death.”
She and Madeline had seen the shocking messages circulating among the elite ladies of Niarak.
All the major faction leaders were rallying their forces to support Maximo.
Only then did Scarlet realize the fearsome unity of the Eight Extremities School; they were a whole, supporting each other in times of trouble.
With so many Grandmasters and Inner Strength warriors, even a battle of attrition could wear Flynn down to death.
If Flynn went, the odds were against him!
Rose, leaning weakly on the sofa, said, “We now have the investment. The most critical task at hand is this commercial battle; our success or failure hinges on it.”
“Will you listen to us?”
“Set aside revenge for now, win this battle first, then focus all efforts on Maximo!”
Rose was not one to let grievances go unavenged. Today’s events would not be easily forgotten.
Once she crushed the tri-alliance with fifty billion dollars, she would use her immense financial power for revenge.
Maximo and Braiden liked to play dirty, right? Then she would fight them with their own game.
She would put out a thirty billion dollars bounty on the Dark Web.
With such financial backing, countless assassins would come to Niarak to take the lives of Maximo and Braiden.
Money talks, as the saying goes.
“A gentleman’s revenge is not too late, even after ten years!”
Revenge now would be too costly, even if Flynn didn’t die, he would be gravely injured.
A Great Grandmaster could not withstand so many experts.
Flynn just smiled reassuringly, “Don’t worry, the Eight Extremities School is just an anthill, a puddle of urine could drown them.”
“Wait for my good news.”
“Oh, and what does everyone want for late-night snacks? Once I’ve dealt with those two, I’ll go buy something.”
“Ms. Sharp enjoyed that barbecue place last time, maybe we should get something from there?”
At this, Molly and the others went crazy.
What was he thinking, discussing late-night snacks at a time like this?
As if killing Braiden and Maximo was as simple as drinking water.
As if it was hardly worth mentioning!
Late-night snacks were the real deal!
Such a carefree attitude he had.
Was he raised on snake gall? Not afraid even if the sky were falling?
“Hey!”
“Boss, over four thousand people are waiting for you at Maximo’s!”
“Flynn, if you dare leave through that door, I will never speak to you again!”
“Don’t go, please!” Scarlet was frantic, trying to restrain Flynn from leaving.
“Alright then, I’ll get the barbecue,” Flynn said with a slight smile, waved to the three women in the living room, and left the house.
“Flynn, stop!” Molly chased after him, but the yard was already empty.
“Damn it! Flynn, you bastard! You sleep with me and now you want to make me a widow? I hate you! I hate you!” Scarlet cursed, tears streaming down her face as she worried and raged.
She never thought she’d be so worried about a man, crying incessantly.
Rose also felt extremely distressed.
It was as if a dear friend had gallantly chosen to face death for her.
Knowing it was a doomed cause, yet pursuing it nonetheless.
Flynn’s bold resolve moved Rose to tears.
After leaving Rose’s villa, the smile on Flynn’s face slowly faded, and the suppressed killing intent in his heart surged.
It was a dark and windy night for murder.
Maximo, Braiden, dead!
