On Wednesday morning it was cold and drizzling. Even the chilly weather couldn’t dampen Tiffany’s good mood. She was twenty-six weeks pregnant, and she had scheduled a 3D ultrasound scan. She couldn’t wait to see her child’s tiny hands and feet.
Tiffany took her designer handbag and left her house grinning from ear to ear. She felt that nothing could upset her today. Unbeknownst to her, a storm was brewing.
After she left, Lily received a call from Tiffany’s neighbour indicating that Tiffany had just left the house. Lily called one of her friends and asked him to meet her at Tiffany’s house.
She started packing Tiffany’s clothes in suitcases when she arrived at the house. Then she gave her friend Tiffany’s family home address. She had already arranged for the locksmith to change the locks on the doors.
Lately, Lily had been so unhappy because Jamie had forgotten their agreement. Her aunt was blinded by Jamie’s love, and she started ignoring her.
Jamie thought he was the man of the house and started making all the financial decisions. It wasn’t easy to get money from her beloved aunt anymore.
At the Spencer residence, Mrs Spencer was in the living room reminiscing. Their house used to fill with laughter, but since their daughter’s betrayal, everything had changed.
At that moment, someone rang the intercom bell. Mrs Spencer said, “Hello. How may I help you?” The young man’s voice was heard, “Hello Madam, I am Lily’s friend. She asked me to drop Tiffany’s suitcases.”
Mrs Spencer was puzzled and replied, “I think you have the wrong address, young man. I don’t know anyone called Tiffany.” The young man was dumbfounded because he was sure that he was at the correct address.
He took his phone and called Lily, “Hello, Lily. I think Lily’s parents have moved. The lady of the house indicated that she didn’t know anyone called Tiffany. What should I do with your friend’s suitcases?”
Lily heard that the Spencer Group was on the verge of bankruptcy after Jordan and Tiffany’s wedding, but she didn’t take it to heart.
She told her friend to drop the suitcases outside Tiffany’s door. What happened to her clothes was not her baby.
In the meantime, Mr Spencer was at His Mercy restaurant with his friend, Terence Cook, asking for help. Mr Cook looked at Mr Spencer and said, “Trevor, you know that everything I have was because of August.
The collaboration between the two companies is out of the question. Your wife disrespected August’s beloved daughter because of your indulgence. She didn’t care about your friendship with the Taylor family.
Didn’t I warn you about the Bennet boy? Look at you now, he brought his bad luck to your doorstep.
I am sorry I won’t be able to help you. I cannot repay kindness with ungratefulness by siding with Mr Martins and his daughter’s enemies.”
Before Trevor responded, his phone started ringing. He smiled when he saw the caller ID and said, “Hello, my wife. What is the matter?”
Mrs Spencer replied with a shaky voice, “Lily sent Tiffany’s suitcases to our home, but I refused to open the gate. Should Tiffany call you, please don’t be soft-hearted. She is no longer our daughter.
I don’t think I will ever forgive her for the pain she put us through. She is dead to me, Trevor.” Then she cried sorrowfully. Trevor’s heart ached when he heard his wife crying and replied, “Don’t cry, Sweetheart. I am on my way.”
Trevor looked at his friend apologetically and said, “I am sorry, Terence, for cutting our meeting short. Something happened at home, and I have to leave.” Terence nodded his head, and then Trevor left with a heavy heart.
At that moment, the rain was coming down very hard. It was cold and windy. Lily’s friend went back to Tiffany’s house and dropped the suitcases near the door.
Two hours later, Tiffany was surprised to see the suitcases outside her door. However, it didn’t register to her that these were her own suitcases. She took the house keys from her handbag and tried to unlock the door, but it didn’t work.
She started panicking and decided to call Lily, “There is a problem with my keys, Lily, I can’t open my house. Please call the locksmith for me.”
Lily laughed out loud and replied, “Ops, we forgot to tell you. We have canceled the lease. It’s time for you to go back home, Tiffany. We are not your cash cows.” Then she hung up the phone.
Tiffany sat down on the steps and cried sorrowfully. At that moment, the rain was pouring, and it was windy. She was caught between a rock and a hard place.
A few months ago, she disowned her parents when they extended an olive branch to her. She told them that they were dead to her. She had never thought that Lily and her aunt would be so cruel to her.
She took her phone and dialed Aunt Elizabeth’s number. When it was connected, she said, “Auntie, it’s Tiffany, Lily told me that you have canceled the lease without telling me. I am stranded, and I don’t have any place to go.”
Aunt Elizabeth was annoyed and replied, “It was Lily’s idea to cancel the lease, and she promised that she would let you know. The lease was canceled in May. Please don’t disturb me anymore.
I don’t owe you anything, Tiffany. Our deal was to break up Jordan and Avery. Falling in love with Jordan and getting pregnant was not part of the deal.
Why am I paying for your poor decision? I am not your ATM, Tiffany.” Then she dropped the phone.
It dawned on Tiffany that the suitcases that were lying in the mud were hers. Tears were streaming down Tiffany’s face. She took her suitcases and walked towards the gate with a heavy heart.
She requested an Uber, then she waited in the rain. Ten minutes later, an Uber arrived. She gave the driver her home address, then the driver drove away.
When she arrived home, she tried to open the gate with her gate remote, but it didn’t budge. She decided to call her mother and said, “Mom, I am outside. Please open the gate.”
Mrs Spencer furrowed her brows and replied, “I am sorry I don’t have a daughter. The one I gave birth to told me that I was dead to her. Please don’t disturb our lives anymore.” She hardened her heart then she hung up the phone.
Tiffany was shivering with cold as she stood outside the gate. She didn’t have a place to go. She was cursing the day she met Lily and her aunt. They destroyed her life. She vowed that one day she would avenge herself.
She decided to call her ex-boyfriend, Jordan. She was surprised when the phone was answered by Jordan’s father. Mr Bennet frowned when he saw the caller ID and said, “Hello.”
Tiffany plastered a smile and replied, “Hello, Uncle Bennet, it’s Tiffany. I am looking for Jordan. Is he at home?”
Mr Bennet replied, “Hello Tiffany, Jordan is in police custody for failing to pay back the taxpayers’ money.”
Tiffany was shocked to hear that and said, “Uncle Bennet, is it possible for me to stay in your house? My family had abandoned me.”
Mr Bennet was taken aback by Tiffany’s request. Also, he wasn’t working, and he didn’t have the means to feed another mouth.
However, his heart softened when he thought about his first grandson and asked, “Why don’t you seek help from the Martins family?”
Tiffany’s heart became bitter when she heard Mr Bennet mention the Martins family and replied, “It’s a long story, Uncle. Everyone I hold dear turned their backs on me. Please help me, Uncle.”
Mr Bennet was conflicted in his heart because Tiffany had caused havoc in his family. However, he couldn’t abandon his first grandson. He sighed and gave Tiffany his home address.
