Elisa couldn’t help but step back and peered inside; it was the bag Andrew had been carrying this morning! How did it end up here? Whose office is this? Elisa looked up at the sign, the comic department? Peering further into the office, she noticed the feminine decor, clean, tidy, and comfortable, with a vase next to the computer holding a lily. A slight chill ran through her heart. Had Andrew brought breakfast for a girl in the comic department? Did he have someone he liked?
As Elisa’s mood darkened and she gathered her emotions to move forward, Agnes emerged from the main office and approached Elisa head-on. As the two girls brushed past each other, Elisa caught a whiff of a fresh fragrance emanating from her. Agnes turned and entered her own office. Elisa stopped in her tracks without looking back. Her heart suddenly felt cold… she knew that the office behind her belonged to this girl, as indicated by the sound of her footsteps entering. The man she admired already had someone he liked. And it was such a beautiful young lady, a talented cartoonist with her own office, presumably well-paid and recruited for her talent.
Elisa stepped forward, digesting all her emotions by herself. Her mood remained somber throughout the day… A grand traditional wedding was being vigorously prepared. Spencer knew his brother was on a business trip and hadn’t shared the good news yet, planning to wait until he returned to the country. He wanted their family to reunite abroad without worries.
Renowned fashion designers with their assistants arrived at the set to take measurements for Summer and Spencer; all outfits for the wedding were to be tailor-made, a time-consuming project involving meticulous handcrafting. The wedding was set in an historic mansion in Arkpool City; its grand hall was transformed by traditional wedding decor, with hundreds of staff members busily redecorating the entire mansion. The main stage’s ceiling and secondary stage’s ceiling were personally designed by Spencer. Traditional elements adorned the runway sides with guiding lanterns… Strings of red lanterns hung high under the eaves, adding a festive touch.
The design of the invitations was also underway, with Summer involved in every detail discussed with Spencer. It was bound to be an exceptionally grand and solemn traditional wedding, unprecedented in Arkpool City.
At noon today, at the hospital. Claire and Monica emerged from the gynecologist’s office with their prenatal test results showing everything was normal; both soon-to-be mothers were relieved. “Shall we have lunch together?” Claire asked with a happy smile. “Where’s Tristan?” Monica pointed ahead where Claire saw him talking to Rowan in a white coat. The two women exchanged glances and walked towards them hand in hand.
“Are the results out?”
“Yes, all normal,” Monica greeted Rowan cheerfully. “Brother, are you free for lunch? Join us?”
“I am,” Rowan replied graciously, taking Claire’s hand and glancing at his watch, “I need to return to my office briefly; there’s a medical record I must complete soon. You go ahead to the nearby restaurant; I’ll join you shortly.”
“Okay.”
“You go with Monica; don’t wait for me,” Rowan added thoughtfully. “The air isn’t great here.”
“Okay,” she nodded.
Thus, Tristan left with two pregnant women while Rowan headed back to his office. Since getting married, their understanding of happiness had deepened. The stability of their small families and anticipation of new life made every day’s efforts seem more meaningful, often filled with a sense of promising future.
