Despite everything, her trained eyes could instantly gauge the value of Callie’s outfit with just one glance.
One look was enough to see that it wasn’t just branded; it was haute couture, a notch above regular brands!
The store clerk immediately became attentive.
Callie actually wanted to experience the lavish spending described in novels. She had a supplementary card that Nelson had given her.
She didn’t know if he had canceled it.
Spending recklessly required courage. She took a deep breath, pointed at a row of shelves, and said calmly, “Wrap all of these up and charge it to the card.”
The supplementary card didn’t have a PIN.
The clerk happily swiped the card, and to Callie’s surprise, it went through without a hitch.
“Please have these delivered to this address; someone will receive them.”
Afterward, Callie walked down the entire street, empty-handed as if she had looted every store. The car delivering the goods to Paucaster Villa Complex had already left.
She did it just to annoy Nelson.
Meanwhile, the secretary received a call from the bank, reporting frequent expenditures on Mr. Oconnor’s card.
He immediately reported to Nelson.
The man was in the car, handling business affairs. He glanced at the card information, rubbed his fingers together, and looked expressionlessly at the bustling traffic ahead.
He wondered what that woman was doing in and out of flagship stores.
Turns out she was spending his money.
In an indescribably calm tone, he said, “Tell the bank to raise her limit. Show her what real shopping is.”
Callie never received a call from Nelson. From one end of the street to the other, it seemed like she could never max out the card.
She watched the clerks’ beaming smiles; the respect gained through this method didn’t bring her any joy; instead, it came with a great sense of loss.
She stood at the end of the street as the wind and snow grew stronger. Tightening her coat, she slowly walked into a nearby five-star hotel.
After getting her room key, she called Jaquan. “I’m at the hotel near Oconnor Group, room 1356.”
It sounded like he was outside too; the howling wind reached Callie’s ears.
Callie didn’t listen for long and hung up directly. She threw herself onto the soft bed and then went into the bathroom to take a shower.
“Mr. Oconnor… Madam has checked into a hotel?” The secretary, who had been closely monitoring Callie’s movements, was surprised.
Why would someone suddenly check into a hotel alone?
Nelson pressed his hand against his temple, quickly typed a reply to a subordinate’s email on his keyboard, then closed his laptop. Looking up, he saw a blue Cayenne speeding towards that hotel with urgency.
Nelson’s eyes narrowed slightly. “Find out which room Madam is staying in.”
There was only one person in Ylosea with a blue Cayenne.
Jaquan had just come from a social event and practically flew there. Snowflakes fell on his eyebrows, and he looked vibrant and energetic.
The door wasn’t locked.
He pushed it open easily; the lights were bright. Callie’s coat was left on the bed, and sounds came from the bathroom. Jaquan’s pulse quickened… no, it raced.
Just then, a waiter pushed in a dining cart. “Hello, here’s your dinner.”
Whether it was thoughtful service or deliberate arrangement by the hotel was unclear.
Red candles flickered, and wine exuded its fragrance.
The waiter set up the meal, threw a meaningful glance at Jaquan and thoughtfully closed the door behind him as he left.
Callie came out wrapped tightly in a bath towel. Seeing Jaquan, she nodded calmly. “Let’s have dinner together.”
