Chapter 240: A Bed Scene

Unexpectedly, Nelson did not respond, not even giving a glance.
Jett fell silent, feeling awkward.
The elevator arrived at the underground garage. Callie stepped out first without looking back. Jett signaled to Nelson and hurried to catch up with her.
This scene did not escape the man behind them, whose expression darkened.
The secretary became visibly nervous.
“What is the movie about?”
“Ah?” She quickly thought for a moment and then hesitated, “I haven’t had time to watch it yet, but I read some reviews. Apparently, there’s a… bed scene.”
Having worked with Nelson for so many years, she knew exactly what he wanted to hear and what he didn’t.
As expected, Nelson’s face turned visibly grim upon hearing this.
Meanwhile, Jett caught up with Callie.
Many people were waiting outside the cinema.
The plaza owned by Oconnor Group was bustling with people from the underground supermarket all the way up. Being close to Oconnor Group made it a very busy area.
Jett bought fried chicken and popcorn for Callie. She refused several times. She used to love these things when she was younger, but over time she learned to take care of herself and hadn’t touched such “junk food” in a long time.
Moreover, she had been staying at the Paucaster Villa Complex for so long that her tastes had become more refined.
Habits are easy to form.
What’s that saying? It’s easy to go from frugality to luxury, but hard to go back.
Callie noticed Jett’s somewhat dejected expression and was brought back to reality by the surrounding commotion, realizing the film was about to start.
She took the bucket of popcorn from Jett and smiled suddenly, “Then I’ll have the popcorn.”
At 22 years old, shedding her usual seriousness, her unguarded smile was incredibly youthful.
Her flawless skin and perfect face, magnified a hundred times, would still show no blemishes. Her smile was reminiscent of white blossoms falling under a pear tree.
Jett stood there dumbfounded for a moment before quickly following Callie.
Their seats were towards the back. As they settled in, the film had just begun.
The name of Nelson’s recent rumored girlfriend appeared among the investors’ credits.
Callie pretended not to notice.
The story revolves around two girls who both fall in love with the same man. One boldly confessed her love, while the other hid her feelings. The film mainly depicts the deep bond between the girls, with the male lead ultimately becoming despised by everyone as a scoundrel. He wanted both girls and deserved all that came his way.
Halfway through the film, some audience members were already in tears.
In one scene set in a bathroom, the two girls pull at each other’s clothes under a running shower, accusing each other, crying, and eventually apologizing.
Callie watched intently, the light from the screen casting a small halo on her face, making her eyes look captivating.
– “I thought you were my best friend! How could you fall for him?”
A slap.
– “Two years… Two years… Did you sleep with him? Disgusting! How could you be so shameless?”
Another slap. They began tearing at each other’s clothes.
– “You’re such a slut!”
This slap was intercepted mid-air. The other girl retaliated. “I’m a slut? Do you dare say you truly treated me as a friend? Bad things would happen to you if you lied!”
If someone hits you once and you endure it, that’s because you have manners.
If someone hits you twice and you endure it, that’s because you have tolerance.
If someone hits you a third time and you still endure it, that’s because you have no brains! You deserve to be hit a fourth time.
“Callie?” A soft call brought the focus back to Callie’s eyes.
