Lily slowly settled the knife on the sink, and wheeled herself out. “Who’s there?” She asked, wheeling herself further into the room.
“It’s me ma’am, I brought your dinner.” The nurse said, pointing at the food on the desk.
The nurse frowned, she narrowed her eyes, as if wanting to have a clear view of Lily’s face, she noticed her red and puffy eyes. “Ma’am are you okay?” she asked, her gaze keen on her face.
Lily forced out a smile and nodded, “I’m okay, something flew into my eyes, so I went to wash it out.”
The nurse nodded though not convinced but she shrugged and nodded. “Alright then, don’t hesitate to reach for the telephone if you need help.”
“Thank you dear.”
The nurse smiled and left.
When was sure that she has left, she removed her facade and broke into tears, she had never felt as miserable as she felt right then.
The only thoughts that were consuming her mind was to take her life, so she wouldn’t feel anymore pain and guilt of being a worst mother.

“You’ve been happy and smiley since you came back from the hospital, tell me what’s the secret?” Larry asked, his gaze keen on Hilda’s face.
“Ohh thank goodness, I wasn’t the only one who noticed.” Ava rolled her eyes, a small smile etched on her lips.
Hilda smiled, of course she should be happy, one of her biggest plans will soon be executed, she couldn’t wait to hear the news later.
She lied to Larry that she was going to the hospital for a check-up, but instead she went to visit Lily. Right then, she needed to think of something believable and convincing.
“The doctor said he’s doing fine, I’m just happy, call it pregnancy mood swings.” She laughed, rubbing the little bump that appeared on her stomach.
“If you say so.” Larry smiled and kissed her check. He was about to get up, when he remembered something, he glanced at Ava, hesitation evident on his face.
“Uhhm, Ava…. You once said Olivia is in the same school as you, is she still there?” He finally asked.
Ava paused and gave her mother a quick glance, before returning it to Larry.
“Yeah she is still in school there, but it’s been days since I last saw her. Who knows? She might have run out of sugar daddies.” She stated, snorting at the end of her words.
Larry nodded and got up, he hadn’t walked five steps when Hilda’s voice stopped him.
“Why are you suddenly asking about her, I hope it’s not what I’m thinking?” She said, her gaze keen on his back.
“Oh come on Hilda, don’t tell me you’re Jealous already, because of that question? And you know I’d always choose you and Ava right?”
As if these were the words she needed to hear, she smiled and got up. “Let’s go to the room together.”
Ava almost rolled her eyes. “I’m gonna get a boyfriend, if you both continue doing this.” she yelled, earning a laugh from both of them.

Olivia had never felt as energized as she felt, when she woke up, since she got pregnant. She yawned, and stretched her arms, just as she was about to get off the bed, her phone buzzed.
She paused and grabbed it, She frowned when she saw it was from the doctor.
“Hello, good morning doctor.”
“Good morning ma, please you need to come to the hospital now.”
Olivia’s heart skipped, she suddenly thought of her mom, she swallowed and asked, “Is there any problem?”
“I’m sorry, but we can’t discuss this on the phone right now, you need to get to the hospital first.”
“I’d be there right now.” Olivia nodded, many thoughts running into her mind.
This time she didn’t take a cab, afraid that she might end up being kidnaped again, so she informed Nicholas, who drove her to the hospital.
Olivia walked into the ward, each step she took felt heavy.
“Everything is fine, nothing happened.” She mumbled, assuring herself, and took a deep breath, before she pushed the door open and went inside.
Olivia knitted her brows, when she saw more than seven nurses in the room, including the doctor, they all had a griefing and pitied expression. One of the nurses was actually crying, Olivia’s chest began to pound harder as she turned her gaze towards her mom’s bed.
Her mom was covered with a white sheet, from her head to her toe, she shot the doctor a glance.
“Why did you cover her face like that? She can’t breathe like this. Do you want her to die?” She scolded and reached for the sheet.
As soon as Olivia pulled the sheet, her heart stopped, it was like everything around her stopped. She glanced at the doctor, “Doctor what happened to my mom, why isn’t she opening her eyes?”
“Mom! Mom! Please, Mom, wake up! Doctor do something, my mom isn’t breathing, her body is cold, what’s happening?” She broke into tears, yanking off the remaining pieces of the sheet and pulled her mom, as if wanting her to get up.
“I’m sorry, I tried everything I could, she didn’t make it, it was late.” The doctor shook his head, his eyes exposing the ache in his heart.
“You’re kidding right? My mom is sleeping, give her medicine to wake her up, please doctor. Mom? Please don’t do this to me, I thought we were in this together.” She sobbed, shaking her mom’s body, but her body was as stiff as a log of wood.
Olivia was still crying, her vision blurred from her tears, her heart filled with so much ache and pain, it felt like she was being poked in the heart by multiple needles.
Olivia couldn’t hold in her broken heart and continued to cry, she hugged her mother, shaking her body as if trying to wake her up, but it was void.
“I’m so sorry ma, please stop crying. Everything will be fine.” The nurse who brought food for her mom before her death came towards Olivia and began stroking her hair. She was the same nurse who was crying her eyes out.
“No! You don’t tell me to stop crying when I’ve lost the only thing that’s keeping me insane in this life. My mom is my world. She was very fine, the last time I visited her, what happened?” She sobbed between each word.
The nurses were told not to tell Olivia the cause of her mom’s death, not until she was sober, only then can she take it very well. Right then, she was miserable, she looked pitiful, sobbing her heart out, while holding onto her mom’s arm.
Just then, the door was flung open and Morgan walked in, his gaze darkened as it fell on Olivia. His heart tugged with pain, and his feet moved on it’s own towards her.
Olivia seemed to notice his presence, she quickly got up and ran towards him, falling into his embrace. At this point she didn’t care about anything else, as her heart was clouded by hurt and agony.
“They are not telling me what happened to my mom, sh…she was pretty fine the last time I came. My mom isn’t dead right? Sh…sh…” she cried, ranting out her heart to Morgan.
He hugged her, his hands slowly went up to her hair, as he stroked it. “Shhh, it’s fine.” He cooed, his voice low and soothing, but it didn’t stop Olivia crying.
Morgan didn’t dare to question the love between Olivia and her mom. He knew she loved her mom, and her death would break her, but she was pregnant.
He carried her off her feet, gave the doctor one last glance before turning to leave.
“Where are you taking me, my mom needs me.”
“Hush-hush-“
