Chapter 102: Fury Unleashed!

“Dr. Scott, is there something on my face?” Sariah asked softly, noticing Kayden’s intense gaze. She raised her hand to touch her cheek.
Realizing he’d been staring, Kayden quickly averted his eyes. “No, nothing.”
Relieved, Sariah lowered her hand and asked, “Dr. Scott, did you come to Inassea specifically to see me? Or are you here on other business?”
Realizing her inappropriate words, she quickly added, “I didn’t mean it like that!”
Kayden replied, “It’s fine. I did come to see you, and to pay a visit to your family patriarch as well.”
“BANG!” As he finished speaking, the closed door was kicked open with a thunderous crash.
The kicker, of course, was Nathan. He’d made it to the second-floor private room and finally found the “lovebirds”!
As the door flew open, Nathan’s eyes immediately locked onto the guy sitting opposite Sariah.
He was a young man in his mid-twenties, somewhat good-looking, wearing an outfit that probably cost less than thirty bucks. The guy was on the scrawny side, a far cry from Nathan’s own physique. Yet here he was, on a date with Sariah in this romantic setting. It was a privilege Nathan himself had never enjoyed, and it made his blood boil.
“Sariah, how could you be on a date with another man?” Nathan demanded righteously, his anger palpable.
Sariah had been watching Nathan since he entered the room. Hearing this, she furrowed her brow and retorted, “How is that any of your business?”
Nathan’s face darkened. He snorted coldly and said, “How is it not my business? You’re my woman. How can it not concern me when you’re out with another man?”
“And where did you dig up this country bumpkin? Are you trying to piss me off on purpose? If you’re going to see someone, at least pick a man with some status. What will people think of me now?”
Sariah let out a cold laugh, dismissing his words. “Since when did I become your woman? Nathan, you’re really full of yourself! It’s all been in your head. Besides, Mr. Scott is my friend. I hope you’ll apologize to him for your rudeness just now.”
“Apologize?” Nathan turned his gaze to Kayden, challenging, “You want me to apologize to you?”
Kayden met Nathan’s glare calmly, nodding slightly. “You should indeed apologize for your rudeness.”
“You bastard!” Nathan roared, then viciously kicked the table.
The dishes on the table flew towards Kayden but suddenly stopped mid-air. Like a rolling ball that needed to gradually slow down or hit an obstacle to stop, inertia shouldn’t allow them to halt instantly. But those plates seemed to hit an invisible wall, stopping abruptly.
This was, of course, the result of Kayden’s inner force, but Nathan couldn’t care less about that. Gnashing his teeth, he spat, “I’ll end your life!”
With that, he launched into a frenzied attack on Kayden.
“Mr. Scott, look out!” Sariah cried out in alarm.
Nathan’s fist flew straight at Kayden’s face, but Kayden dodged it with effortless grace.
Nathan attacked multiple times in succession, but never managed to touch Kayden. Nathan’s movements were quick, throwing eight punches in a second, but before Kayden, his fists seemed slow and powerless.
After several failed attempts, Nathan was beside himself with rage. This guy was clearly toying with him, making a fool of him in front of the woman he liked. It was more than he could bear. With this thought, he swung another powerful punch, but this time Kayden didn’t dodge. Instead, he calmly raised his hand and caught Nathan’s attacking fist.
This grip firmly controlled Nathan’s hand. Try as he might, he couldn’t pull it back.
He looked up to see Kayden’s mesmerizing eyes staring back at him.
This was the first time Nathan had encountered such a formidable opponent. He had given it his all, yet couldn’t even touch the edge of Kayden’s clothes. He had completely lost face in front of Sariah.
Any man would want to show off in front of the woman he loved, to demonstrate his strength and win her heart. But Nathan had miscalculated. He had utterly embarrassed himself here, restrained by this man.
Even more enraged, he bellowed, “Do you have any idea who I am?”
Kayden leisurely took a sip of wine, his demeanor elevating instantly.
He calmly said, “Of course I know. You’re Fletcher’s nephew.”
Hearing this, Nathan was taken aback. This guy, who seemed about his age, actually knew that the most powerful person in his family was his second uncle. So he raised his voice, “If you know that, how dare you lay a hand on me! I’ll give you one chance. Jump out of that window yourself, or when my second uncle gets here, he’ll make you regret you were ever born!”
Nathan knew he had met his match. Their brief exchange had made it clear he was no match for this man. But how could he lose face in front of the woman he loved?
Moreover, there were so many people watching downstairs. If he didn’t throw this guy out of the window, what would they think of him?
His second uncle Fletcher was a big shot in Seclela, once striking fear into the hearts of enemy troops on the battlefield. Even in retirement, Fletcher’s influence remained rock-solid, unshakeable. Nathan couldn’t believe anyone wouldn’t fear Fletcher, especially someone who knew of his reputation.
Thinking of this, he regained some of his confidence.
“SLAP!” Just as his confidence was returning, the guy before him suddenly stood up and gave him a vicious slap across the face.
The slap left him seeing stars, five clear fingerprints immediately visible on his face. The force behind it was unmistakable. More importantly, this slap wasn’t just aimed at his flesh, but at his very dignity!
Nathan was now completely enraged.
