Ulric knew how stubborn she could be, the more she got stuck on something, the less she would listen to anyone.
Taking a deep breath, he spoke softly, “Come with me to eat. You probably didn’t have a proper breakfast this morning, and your stomach will hurt.”
As he spoke, he was about to restart the car’s engine.
Rosalind wiped away her tears. “I’m not hungry. I want to get out of the car!”
“Although the agreement doesn’t say you have to work at W Group, it does state that if I need you, you must be available at any time.” Ulric had no choice but to bring up the agreement.
“… The needs mentioned in the agreement don’t include having meals!”
“Then come back to Easthaven Bay with me and fulfill my needs.”
Rosalind almost bit her tongue.
“Let’s just eat.”

W Group Legal Department Office.
After finishing a document, Sirena saw a notification for a cooperation investigation on the company’s app.
She smirked and clicked it open.
It stated that due to Rosalind’s accusation against Chief Lawyer Sirena for framing her, Sirena needed to temporarily step away from the Huayi Enterprises project pending investigation results.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.
“Come in,” Sirena looked up and saw Johnny.
He had naturally heard about such a big issue. After handling his immediate tasks, he rushed over.
“Ulric actually issued an internal investigation notice. Isn’t that a slap in your face? It shows he’s doubting you,” Johnny closed the office door and walked angrily to her desk, pounding on it. “This move is unprecedented! Suspending the chief lawyer’s work for a mere assistant!”
Sirena smiled calmly and got up to pour him a cup of coffee.
In contrast to his agitation, she remained very composed.
“No matter, I’ll take it as a break.”
“So… does this have anything to do with you?” Johnny asked tentatively as he accepted the coffee.
Sirena raised an eyebrow at him. “Do you think it does?”
“Honestly, I don’t think you’re capable of that,” Johnny analyzed. “Sure, Rosalind is a nuisance between you and Ulric, but the Walters family only acknowledges you as their daughter-in-law. Sooner or later, Ulric will settle down and marry you. There’s no need for you to go to such lengths to frame her.”
“Thank you for believing in me.”
“Any rational person would think so! You and Rosalind have no other grudges. Acting so ruthlessly is unnecessary.”
If Rosalind was indeed framed, then the person who did it had effectively condemned her to professional ruin in the investment industry! What kind of grudge could justify that?
“But Ulric doesn’t see it that way. He believes whatever Rosalind says is true.” Sirena took a deep breath and shrugged. “I don’t care, let them investigate and see what they find.”
“This is unfair to you! I’ll go talk to him,” Johnny frowned in displeasure. “Rosalind is just a woman he liked when he was younger. You’ve been his loyal companion for so many years, he should know where his loyalties lie! W Group won’t be affected without Rosalind as an assistant, but without you, can it function?”
He still believed his friend had been bewitched by Rosalind!
How could someone usually so calm and self-possessed now be incapable of rational thought?
“Don’t go!” Sirena stopped him, shaking her head. “Don’t go. I don’t want him to feel like I’m pressuring him.”
