“Alright, I’m en route now.”
When it came to work, Rosalind never slacked off. She promptly informed her mother and hailed a taxi to the W Group headquarters.
Although she hadn’t visited the place often, she had the opportunity to see it during the annual meetings organized by Prosperity Holdings.
As she entered the lobby, the grandeur and magnificence overwhelmed her senses. The crystal chandelier hanging from above seemed worth billions, and the surroundings resembled a museum, showcasing antiques and authentic paintings.
Following Sirena’s instructions, Rosalind took elevator number 12 directly to the ninth floor.
As she stepped out, Sirena’s office came into view. The words “Chief Lawyer” on the door emphasized Sirena’s importance to the entire W Group.
“You arrived swiftly.” Sirena had changed into another elegant Chanel dress, her makeup subtle yet refined.
“Is the Huayi contract already prepared?” Rosalind skipped small talk, aware of her own awkward position, and got straight to the point.
“Yes, Mr. Chan from your team was in a rush, so the legal department expedited the contract drafting.”
Sirena personally rose from her chair and poured Rosalind a glass of water. “Normally, I wouldn’t handle such small to medium projects, but Ulric asked me to assist you further, so I specifically took charge of this contract.”
Whenever she mentioned Ulric, her tone exuded intimacy and ease, as though their relationship was unbreakable and impervious to interference.
Observing Rosalind’s silence, she smiled. “Please have a seat! There are some details in the contract that require your confirmation, so you won’t be able to leave anytime soon.”
Upon hearing this, Rosalind pulled out a chair and sat down, maintaining impeccable posture as she curved her lips slightly. “Thank you.”
“No need for thanks. All W Group projects ultimately belong to Ulric. I returned to the country this time solely to assist him.” Sirena lowered her gaze, retrieving the Huayi contract and placing it on the table. “But let’s focus on business. I believe there are significant loopholes in the breach of contract section you submitted. I understand that you’re new to the industry and lack experience. However, you should also be aware that there are legal limits to breach of contract compensation! If you exceed those limits, the court won’t support it, and the other company won’t care.”
Rosalind nodded, grabbing a pen to jot down notes on the contract.
“I understand the intention to intimidate the other party, but it’s essential to recognize your own position. Crossing boundaries isn’t advisable.”
Sirena spoke casually, yet her words seemed to carry deeper implications in Rosalind’s ears.
“I have no intention of overstepping, I’m merely an employee of W Group, striving to fulfill my contractual obligations to the best of my ability.”
Sirena paused momentarily, then chuckled. “We’re discussing work right now.”
Rosalind responded, “That’s precisely what I’m doing.”
“Well, that’s good. I was concerned you might misinterpret something.”
After uttering those words, Sirena continued discussing the contract details.
It must be acknowledged that Sirena was truly exceptional in the field of law!
After Tilda had mentioned her, Rosalind privately researched her background.
Sirena had been involved in several major cases abroad on behalf of W Group and had made significant contributions. Undoubtedly, she deserved the title of Ulric’s ‘first love.’
Deep in thought, Rosalind was interrupted by Sirena, who suddenly looked up and asked, “Are you and Ulric classmates?”
