Chapter 21: Rosalind, I’ll Be Gentle

With anxious anticipation, Rosalind hailed a taxi and headed straight to Easthaven Bay after work.
As she approached the door, she suddenly felt inappropriate entering the password. What if she walked in on an awkward situation? So, she pressed the doorbell.
Before long, the door swung open.
Ulric had already changed out of his formal suit. His usually immaculate hair was slightly tousled, and he wore casual white home attire, shedding his business elite demeanor for a relaxed and youthful vibe.
It seemed as if he had just finished playing basketball at the stadium and was now ready to unwind in the comfort of home.
Concerned that his “first love” might be present, Rosalind hesitated at the doorway, maintaining a professional demeanor. “Mr. Walters, regarding the Huayi project you mentioned-”
“Rosalind Ruell.”
He called her full name directly, his brows furrowed. “I’m off work now.”
“…” Rosalind was taken aback, not grasping his meaning. Wasn’t he the one who texted her to come over?
“Should I leave then?”
Before she could finish her sentence, Ulric had already pulled her inside. His tall frame pressed her against the wall, and he kissed her passionately!
Wait, wait-
“Mr. Walters!”
What was happening?
She could feel the warmth and strength of Ulric’s body against hers!
But wasn’t she here to discuss terminating their contract?
How did they go from the entrance to the bedroom in just an instant?
“Ulric, you-”
Rosalind’s words were silenced as he captured her lips again. His voice, restrained yet filled with desire, reached her ear. “Rosalind, I’ll be gentle.”
Without giving her a chance to resist, Ulric kissed her with dominance, skillfully exploring her sensitive spots. His hand ventured beneath her damp underwear, heightening her pleasure.
He was indeed more tender than before. Unlike their previous encounters focused solely on intensity, this time he showed genuine interest and attentiveness to her desires.

She couldn’t recall when she drifted off to sleep. All she could remember were his countless kisses and his promise of gentleness, yet the passion surpassed anything she had experienced before!
When she woke up, it was already morning.
Instinctively reaching out beside her, she confirmed that Ulric wasn’t in the habit of sleeping in.
Feeling a tinge of annoyance, she showered and dressed. Upon emerging from the bathroom, she found breakfast waiting on the dining table along with a note written in his strong handwriting.
“I’ve emailed you a list of third-party loan companies. Add me back on WhatsApp once you’re awake, it’s more convenient that way.”
Rosalind couldn’t quite grasp Ulric’s intentions. It seemed like he… didn’t plan on terminating their contract?
Wasn’t he afraid his “first love” would discover her existence?
This question lingered in her mind until Tilda, a colleague, entered Rosalind’s office to make copies of some documents.
“Tilda, can I ask you something?”
“Of course.”
“I have a friend who… entered into a marriage of convenience for financial reasons. However, the man she married still has strong feelings for someone else who recently returned to the country. Yet it appears that he has no intention of divorcing my friend. Why do you think that is?”
Tilda pursed her lips, deep in thought. “I suppose it could be because his ‘first love’ already has a boyfriend? Or maybe there’s another reason why they can’t be together! But men have their needs too. If he divorces your friend and can’t be with his ‘first love,’ he’ll have to suppress his desires, won’t he?”
Rosalind opened her mouth to respond. Though blunt, Tilda’s logic seemed to hold some truth.
Recalling Ulric’s insatiable passion from the previous night, perhaps Tilda was onto something!
“Do you think my ‘friend’ should take the initiative to seek a divorce?”
“It depends on whether your friend has developed feelings for him! If there’s no emotional attachment and both parties are receiving what they need-physical compatibility and financial support-why pursue a divorce?” Tilda suddenly seemed to have an epiphany, raising an eyebrow suspiciously.
“Hold on a moment, this ‘friend’ you’re referring to isn’t actually you, is it?”
