But honestly, with Colton I couldn’t seem to help it. He drew me in, maybe it had something to do with being his mate or something ?
If he was just trying to get some bedroom action, I was pretty sure he wouldn’t have gone through all this trouble, especially when I knew there were thousands of women at his club who would willingly sleep with him. He doesn’t seem like that type of guy anyway.
I nibbled on my bottom lip, a small amount of anxiety gnawing around my stomach. I was nervous because I was about to spend the weekend with Colton. But it was becoming harder not to give into him. I was becoming tired of fighting.
You know, I mumbled, glancing at him from the corner of my eye. I wish that just once I could go to a party or a club without being groped or attacked by guys.
Yeah, you’re definitely a danger magnet.
I rolled my eyes and laughed a little just as we sped down a motorway. Ray drove everywhere with speed, and I always felt scared and on edge when I was in his car. But with Colton I just felt safe.
You know, I can handle myself pretty well if given the chance to.
Does that mean you’re not liking me being your own personal brand of pepper spray then ? He wondered with a smile that showed off his straight, white teeth.
I shrugged and laughed a little, unable to tear my eyes away. You’re right, I like it when you pop out of nowhere.
We drove for what seemed like forever until finally Colton slowed down the car. To me it looked like we were in the middle of nowhere, yet again, and it was too dark to make out anything to determine where I was. As we turned a corner, his car headlights lit up a bunch of modern looking caravans. It was like a caravan park or something, but I couldn’t see much.
In the distance I could make out the lining of the sea, but that was about it.
I glanced at Colton with a raised eyebrow making him chuckle. Don’t judge just yet.
I couldn’t help but notice he looked slightly excited. That sophisticated, business-like hardness seemed to drop off his shoulders completely now that he was here with me.
It reminded me that Colton was only twenty-two, but being an alpha must push him to act older
I had a mere opportunity to see Colton being playful one upon a time, but now I was determined to drag him out a little bit more and have fun. I got out of the car, the sound of waves crashing against rocks determined that I was by the sea as the smell of salt wafted up my nose.
Colton came around the car towards me, and without expecting it, put his arms around my body, pulling me closer into him.
Being in his arms just made everything seem right. Thank you for coming here with me.
I melted at his words as I buried my face in his hard chest, breathing in his divine smell. You’re welcome.
I want to be the guy you want me to be Layla, can you trust me ? He whispered into my ear, his hot breath fanning against my skin making me tingle.
I took a relaxing, deep breath and looked up to him. The wind lightly blew his hair away from his face showing off those amazing eyes that glinted under the moonlight.
I wanted to trust him and I didn’t want to argue with him anymore. I wanted no arguments and no worries. It was just going to be me, Colton and a caravan.
I tend to think of rusted trailers with awful couches and smelly, flea infested beds when I think of caravans.
This one time my Granddad got a caravan. It was a tiny thing with a beat up kitchen and dated peeling wallpaper and carpets. It smelled so funny, I still remember the stench to this day.
You couldn’t even walk into the bathroom it was that small, yet my Granddad thought it was the best thing invented.
However, Colton’s caravan was a jaw dropper. It was like I’d just stepped inside an episode of MTV cribs, except, I guess you could call it MTV caravans.
This caravan was huge, sleek and modern. I had never seen anything like it. It was like a mini home, a place you would escape to for summers on end and stay for as long as you wanted.
We walked through the patio doors first, which lead into the glossy, clean kitchen. It was a big, dark wooded kitchen with smooth granite counter tops. The sink sparkled and I was pretty sure there was a dishwasher somewhere in there too.
To the side there was a dark wooden table set up with black table mats and a feature piece of white lilies.
It smelled fresh and clean and the floors gleamed under the fitted lights. The living room was like an actual real living room, it had cream fabric couches with heavenly looking fluffy pillows. There was a glorious fluffy rug underneath a real oak coffee table. I could go on, if Colton wasn’t now standing next to me laughing at me.
You own this too ? I asked.
Yeah, well, it was my parents, he spoke humbly, but I noticed the slight saddened look in his eyes at the mention of his parents. Would you like something to drink ?
He made his over towards the kitchen and pulled open the door, revealing a built-in fridge stocked full of food and whatnot.
He bent over, giving me a glorious view of his backside which I couldn’t help not to look at. All too soon his head turned in my direction and ghost of a smirk appeared on his lips.
I blushed because he caught me completely checking him out. I diverted my gaze elsewhere and finally nodded my head to his question of wanting something to drink.
I didn’t know why I was so nervous. Here I was, shaking from head to toe and wishing I wasn’t. Why couldn’t I just be cool and collected, like Colton ?
I attempted to wipe my sticky hands on my jeans and calm down my breathing, but it didn’t help that Colton was now observing me with a seductive smile.
What would you like ?
You, I swallowed hard. Whatever you’re having.
He nodded, returning back to the fridge. After rummaging inside, he stood up and twisted the caps off the beer bottles he’d pulled out.
I was glad the drink was something to calm my nerves. Soon he made his way over towards one of the couches, moving his head for me to join him.
My stomach started pouncing with excitement as I walked to sit on the couch next to him, which worked out an arm-length apart and me secretly cursing myself for not sitting closer to him.
He handed me the beer and silence soon engulfed us both, not an uncomfortable one, but there was tension.
