Yeah, the meeting ended sooner than I thought. I decided to come and surprise you. Toby told me you were coming here on the phone, so I followed you.
Stalker…
He shrugged. Damn glad I did stalk you. All I’m going to say is that kid that touched you is lucky he is human.
Can’t you kill humans ? I wondered with a genuine curiosity.
I can, but I prefer not to.
I nodded. I was still satisfied with Kyle getting a punch in the face. I was positive I wouldn’t be getting any more trouble from him.
So, I drawled out.
So, He repeated, glancing at me with a grin.
Without helping it my eyes drifted towards his lips. Oh how I wanted to just kiss him right now. I swallowed back a hard lump that was perched in my throat and looked just in time to see that we were coming up towards my house.
I’m going to be honest. Ray doesn’t like you, it’s going to be hard getting past him. He’s been a total ass for days, I said truthfully, un-clipping my seat belt as he slowed the car to a stop.
Colton didn’t look surprised that I mentioned my brother, instead he leaned forward and looked up at the night sky.
What are you looking at ?
He leaned back in the chair and shook his head. Nothing, I’ll drive round the block. Get Toby to distract him.
I nodded and opened the door, but before I could even put a foot out the door Colton took hold of my elbow and pulled me back inside the car. I yelped a little until he silenced me with a kiss.
I melted at his kiss and he groaned against my mouth leaving my lips shuddering. I kissed him back, once again enjoying the feel of his lips against mine. This kiss was hot and demanding and I was dying to rip open his shirt and kiss him senseless, which was a strange feeling.
But of course he drew away and the moment came to a stop, I almost whimpered out-loud that he was away from me.
The kisses were becoming too intense, it was like something was growing between us, but I couldn’t explain.
I bit my lip as he breathed heavily on my wet lips, his eyes roaming over my face as he reached up and gently caressed the side of my cheek.
Go get your things, he whispered and I nodded quickly.
He finally let me go and I got out of the car. The cool air blew against my hot cheeks as I stumbled up my path, trying to gain control of my jelly legs.
I looked up into the night sky and saw an almost full-moon. I wondered then if that was what Colton was looking at.
I heard his car drive off just as I opened my front door. When I did, however, I was greeted by loud shouting and swearing that was coming from the living room.
Are you fucking kidding me ? I heard Ray shout out. I froze, but relaxed when I could hear Toby laughing.
Calm down you big girl.
I moved into the living room to see Toby and Ray playing on the PlayStation. Ray looked majorly annoyed. I guess it was because Toby was beating him. Both of them looked up as I entered.
You’re back early ? Ray pointed out, glancing at the clock.
I shrugged, once again avoiding eye contact. I did need to sort things out with Ray. It was lame.
Ray continued to play on the game as Toby looked my way, now that I had his attention I moved my head for him to follow me, making sure Ray didn’t let on. I moved out of the living room and ran upstairs to my bedroom.
Once there, I grabbed hold of my already packed bag and put it over my shoulder just as Toby strolled into my bedroom behind me. Even though I wasn’t supposed to be going anywhere with Colton, I had packed a bag during the week just in case. I didn’t care about anything right now. Not Jenny or his problems. I just wanted to go with him, I couldn’t fight it anymore.
Toby walked through my door, eyeing up the mess with a raised eyebrow.
Your rooms a state.
I need your help, I said, ignoring what he said. I grabbed another bag and started stuffing inside my makeup, hairbrush and whatnot inside. Colton is driving round the block. He’ll be here any minute. I need you to distract Ray long enough for me to slip out.
He nodded looking thoughtful. Okay, give me a minute.
Wait, I whispered, digging my hand into my jeans pocket and pulling out the car keys to the mustang that I left at Matty’s house. I need you to pick up my baby. I left her at Matty’s.
Does Colton know about this baby ? Toby grinned and I rolled my eyes, too stressed out about Ray to enjoy his joke.
Just get the mustang, please.
Okay, okay, he said and grabbed the keys from me.
Have fun tonight Laylee, he winked making me roll my eyes. He walked out and after a moment I heard him shouting. Hey Ray, come here !
I grabbed hold of whatever jacket I could find, it ended up being Toby’s hoodie. I cursed myself for leaving my leather jacket once again.
I didn’t have a clue where Colton was taking me, so I ended up packing too many outfits for different weather conditions.
Quietly, I snuck over to my door and poked my head out the door to see Ray coming up the stairs.
What’s up ? he asked Toby who was standing on the landing looking at one of the pictures on the wall.
I was just thinking, how fucking sexy is your mother, seriously though ? I grimaced at his words, seriously, that was the best he could come up with ? Oh god, how gross.
That’s sick. Ray said unamused.
Toby moaned and stepped closer towards the picture. I’d totally bone her. I mean, look at those boobs. It makes you want to just stick your face in and-
I heard a thump and I poked my head out to see Ray chasing after Toby down the landing. I laughed a little as I took this as my cue to leave. I bolted towards the stairs and ran down them. My heart was drumming against my chest at the prospect of Ray catching me sneaking out with a huge bag. I opened the front door as quietly as I could and slid out just in time to see Colton pull up outside my house.
I made a runner towards his car, because I had bags, I decided to jump in the backseat. After I slid inside and closed the door he revved the car and we drove off quickly.
I felt sort of criminal for sneaking out to be with Colton, like it gave it that sort of forbidden feeling that I couldn’t explain, only I knew it made me excited. As he drove I climbed into the front seat and slid down.
Everything okay ? He asked after I settled in the seat next to him once again.
Yeah, well, apart from finding out that Toby has a secret fantasy fetish to be with my mum.
Colton pulled a face. Is that the best he could come up with ?
That’s exactly what I thought, I smiled as he drove. So where are we going exactly ?
He smiled mysteriously. It’s a secret.
That sounded so Colton. We sat in silence for most of the car journey, but I started fidgeting because I was so excited to see where he was taking me. I didn’t know what was going to happen between us this weekend. But I was damn tired of over-thinking things and resisting him.
There was Jenny to consider and quite honestly, no matter how much of a bitch I thought she was or what revenge she was a part of for Colton, having somebody cheat on you wasn’t a nice experience.
