Chapter 64

Book:Forbidden Pleasure: My Stepbrother Published:2024-9-12

I see a small lift at the corner of his mouth. He says nothing more and looks at my backpack. Several books were scattered next to it. In the search for my phone, I threw out everything that was inside it.
He picks up a book and smiles.
“How many times are you going to read this book? Twenty?” He asks. He tilts his head and pinches my stomach.
I really lost count.
“Maybe… It’s beautiful, I love it.”
“What’s it about?” He looks at the back cover and opens it.
“It’s called -Love Me Once More-. It’s about a man who abandoned his wife after realizing he didn’t deserve her. Years later he returns but she has changed and he has too. He claims her again as his own and she doesn’t want him anymore.”
“How does it end?” He asks.
“I haven’t dared to read the end yet,” I confess.
“Why not?”
“I couldn’t finish it and have them not end up together. It would be the worst.”
“Endings aren’t always happy, Sam.”
“I know, but they are so imperfect that they can’t be apart.”
“Are you listening to yourself?” He looked up and found me looking at him with a teasing expression.
“It sounds crazy. But they are two imperfections that together are perfect.”
He continues to look at me amused and a bit confused. I let out a sigh and sit up, forming a W.
“They both make so many mistakes to hurt each other. Although he changed for her, to deserve her, he still drives her crazy. And she is resentful. She is broken. When he left her, he broke her completely. They can’t stand each other, but they can’t live without each other. She wasn’t alive for a long time until she saw him again and he… the only thing that kept him sane was knowing he was going to come back for her.”
“Well, I and the man in the story have something in common,” He takes my wrist and pulls me towards his torso. “The girl we want drives us crazy and she can’t live without us.”
“Do you have another girl? Do I know her?”
“Very funny. Admit you can’t live without me.”
“You have a high opinion of yourself, Benson.”
“I know. But if you don’t answer me, you would be ruining my self-esteem.”
I really can’t imagine my life without Nick and I am quite aware that this is not good, not good at all. People’s lives shouldn’t depend on other people. But unfortunately, mine does. I am sure that if Nick and I broke up I would be lost.
I intertwined our fingers and kissed him.
“I couldn’t live without you.”
He smiled shamelessly and turned me around. I was lying down and he was on top of me. He kissed me forcefully. He licked and bit my lips. My gaze got lost in his.
As a habit and instinct, my hands went to the thin fabric of his shirt. I lifted it just a bit to touch his whole abdomen and a bit of his torso. He did the same, but the difference is that his hands went straight to my breasts.
The moan that is about to come out of my mouth was silenced when he stuck his tongue in it.
“Hey! You two. This is a park, if you want to do it I don’t mind but not in a public place.” We both stopped kissing and looked at where that voice was coming from. An old woman was walking with a small dog and looking at us disapprovingly. My face felt hot.
Just by looking at the boy on top of me I knew he was going to answer that.
“Excuse me, ma’am, but what do you expect me to do? Didn’t you see how beautiful and hot this girl is? It’s impossible to restrain myself.”
Now I felt as if my face had been sunk in boiling water.
The woman shook her head laughing and left. A smile of superiority crossed Nick’s face and he winked at me.
“You’re an idiot,” I said, squinting at him.
“A lucky idiot to have you,” he concluded.
The moment he brought his face close to mine again, my phone rang again. It was a message.
“You come to the damn apartment or I’ll break down the door. You know this is not a game.” Damn it, John.
“I think we need to go back to the apartment,” I said.
“That’s what I was going to say,” His flirtatious smile almost made me smile. Almost.
“Well, I don’t think your plans are the same as mine.”
“What would be yours?” His hand went to my thigh and his fingers seductively moved up…
“Try to prevent my brother from burning down the apartment and killing you. And yours?”
His expression became serious at once.
“Let’s go,” We got up. We gathered all the books and walked quickly to the car.
We arrived at the building in no time. Before entering the doors, I grabbed Nick’s hand and squeezed it. It was amazing how hard each step was for me. He hugged me and his lips brushed my ear.
“Hey, calm down. Nothing happens. We’ll make him understand and if he doesn’t… he’ll have to accept it because I won’t leave you.”
No more comforted by Nick’s words, we kept walking until we reached the hallway that leads to the apartment door.
John was there and not alone. My mother and Olivia too. This can’t be bloody serious…
