Chapter 87: Ethan Williamson’s Fear

Book:Back To Thrones Published:2024-9-12

On the other side of town, Ethan Williamson, a man known for his fierce and resolute demeanor, now appeared a bit deflated.
He sat on a large bed, looking at his son, Matthew Williamson, whose arm was encased in a thick plaster cast. He was lying in the big bed, looking around at the unfamiliar surroundings, and then asked tearfully, “Dad, why did we move?”
Ethan hesitated for a moment before saying, “The old place wasn’t really for us, so we moved.”
“When are you going to avenge me then? That guy broke my arm. We can’t just let him keep doing whatever he wants!” Matthew said with an aggrieved face, almost on the verge of tears.
Ethan suddenly fell silent, his expression darkening.
He still couldn’t forget what happened that night. The images were deeply engraved in his mind, refusing to leave him alone, haunting him constantly, so much so that he hadn’t had a proper meal since.
When he first heard that his son had been hurt, he immediately gathered his men and was going to hunt down the person responsible himself that night. And when he learned that the man was the Adams family’s son-in-law, he was even more determined to take him down. Not only was he going to break both of that man’s arms, he was also going to make sure that that man would never be able to walk again.
Soon, hundreds of his men were gathered in his mansion.
“Listen, a bastard broke my son’s arm! If we don’t take care of this now, my authority will be undermined! You all know he’s my only son. We’re going to find that guy and tear him to pieces!”
The crowd’s spirit instantly ignited with Ethan’s roar. Everyone joined in, as if rallying for a rebellion, shouting for Kayden to be torn to pieces. The scene made Ethan’s blood boil with excitement.
“Alright, give me a few minutes, and I’ll be right down after I get changed,” he said as he headed upstairs.
But when he went back down, an eerie silence had taken over the mansion.
With hundreds of men there, this kind of quietness would be impossible. Even if no one was talking, you should still be able to hear their breathing. Confused, he made his way downstairs, but what he saw as soon as he got down nearly made him faint.
The horror of the scene!
There were bodies and blood everywhere!
Every man Ethan had gathered was dead, their throats slashed open and blood pooling out. The sight was too gruesome to bear.
Instantly, Ethan felt as if surrounded by death. His scalp tingled, and his entire body started to tremble uncontrollably.
His mind went completely blank, unable to process the carnage in front of him.
He had seen death and even caused it himself many times, but he had never seen anything like this-hundreds of men slaughtered in a house.
He lived among the higher class of the wealthy and the influential. How could he possibly have been exposed to this kind of death before? In his mind, such large-scale murders simply couldn’t exist.
Suddenly, a man in a camouflage uniform walked in the mansion.
He was stepping on the blood, completely composed and carrying a faint scent of blood on him.
“W-who are you?” Ethan stammered, falling to the floor, his voice trembling with fear.
The man was extremely clam, as if used to killings like this.
As he remained silent, more footsteps could be heard from behind him, and soon, a group of men in camouflage uniforms showed up in front of the mansion. They were all armed and expressionless, like professional assassins.
“You!” Ethan had never seen anything like this, paralyzed with fear, he started to tremble.
But those men remained silent, just keeping their guns pointed at him.
Ethan was nearly scared out of his mind, pulling out his phone to call for help. But as soon as it got through, the other side would hang up. It was as if everyone knew he was in trouble and was deliberately avoiding answering.
“You… Who are you? What do you want? I’m making calls, I’m calling people over right now! So don’t try anything. Don’t get any closer to me,” Ethan said, trembling with fear.
The leader of those men suddenly spoke, “Enough, don’t waste our time. I’m here to send you a message: don’t mess with Kayden in the future. If you do, I’ll wipe out your entire family.”
He then asked sharply, “Did you hear me?”
Ethan, too terrified to say anything else, nodded frantically, “Yes, yes, I heard you!”
“Good. Let’s go,” the leader ordered coldly to his men.
After they were out of the mansion, Ethan finally let out a long breath. But just as he finally felt a sense of relief, he wet himself-he had wet himself from fear!
He left there as soon as those men were gone. There was no way that he would stay there in a house full of dead bodies.
He thought the massacre would make national headlines the next day. Kindreds of people had died after all. But to his shock, days went by, and the incident had been completely covered up.
No one knew what had happened that night, and no one had reported it either.
Ethan went back there once to see if the bodies would still be there. But the place had been cleaned up so thoroughly that it was as if nothing had ever happened.
He had tried to tell it to the police, but no one would pay any attention to him. No one was willing to acknowledge this incident, as if it had never happened.
Hundreds of lives, gone and forgotten, just like that.
He had no idea how powerful those men truly were, but he would never dare to mess with that son-in-law of the Adams family ever again. Not just that son-in-law, he would never dare to mess with anyone from the Adams family ever again. In fact, even the mere mention of the word ‘Adams’ could now make his heart race with anxiety.
“Dad, I’m talking to you! Why do you look like that?” Matthew asked, puzzled by his father’s expression.
Snapping back to reality, Ethan said, “Son, let’s drop this for now. Once you’re better, I’ll transfer you to another school.”
“What?” Matthew immediately shook his head and said, “Dad, why do I have to change school? Are you scared of the Adams family’s son-in-law? If you’re afraid, I’ll take care of it myself. I’ll make sure that he…”
“Shut up!” Ethan punched his son right in the face, shouting, “Don’t you dare bring this up again!”
Just then, his phone rang.
