After Olivia was confirmed to be pregnant, Morgan tripled the securities around her, afraid that Olivia might do something to harm the baby. Although the Information was between him, the doctor, Old Gilbert and Olivia.
The pregnancy was really taking a toll on Olivia’s health, coupled with her recent unstable emotions. After it was discovered that she was pregnant with Morgan’s child, Morgan made sure that his men followed her wherever she went, keeping her on a close supervision.
When she couldn’t hold in her sadness and emotional breakdown, she asked for permission to visit her mother.
Meanwhile, Gilbert already informed his lawyers and biggest shareholder of Klein’s enterprise, just so they could serve as a witness to his power hand over to Morgan.
Olivia stood in front of her mother’s ward, guilt, regret, resentment towards herself was written all over her face. She had no idea on how to face her, but she was the family she had left and keeping such a big secret from her mother wouldn’t do her any good.
Olivia took a deep breath and walked into the ward, her mom was fast asleep. She pulled out a chair and sat down, her mind drifting back to Morgan.
She had thought that the relationship between her and Morgan was actually coming out to be good , she cared for him and did, just for her to find out it was all his plan all along.
Thinking about it, Olivia could remember that he was always bent on making sure his loads were inside her, each time they had sex. How come she didn’t recognize, methese signs? The feeling of being betrayed washed over her, all over again.
Her eyes stung with tears, as she sniffled, trying to wipe it away, unknown to her, her mom was awake and was watching everything she did.
When Lily could no longer stay still, she sat up, making Olivia notice her. “Why are you crying?”
Olivia was startled as she turned to look at her mom, her tears fell more. She lounged herself towards her and hugged her mom.
“Mom, I’m so sorry.” She sobbed, her grip tight on her mom, as if scared of letting her go.
Lily tried to pull her off, but Olivia’s grip was tight, she shrugged and hugged her back, her eyes moistening as she stroked her hair.
“Shhh Shhh shhh, it’s okay, you’re going to be fine, everything is going to fine.” Lily consoled, her heart tugging with pain.
Olivia shook her head, “Nothing is going to be fine, mom.” her shoulders trembled, as she sobbed harder.
“It is, believe me. Everything is going to be fine.” Lily cooed, still stroking her hair.
“Not when I’m pregnant for him.”
Olivia pulled away as the words left her mouth, she raised her gaze towards her mother, who stilled in shock, her eyes were wide ajar.
“You.. your.. you’re what?” Lily’s voice came out as a whisper, as she narrowed her eyes at Olivia, confusion evident in them.
“I’m pregnant.” Olivia said, and suddenly brought her head down to avoid her mother’s gaze, as she could already tell the disgust and Shame in them.
“How’s that even possible? You said, “You haven’t slept with him yet.”
“I lied, I…I…I didn’t want you to worry about me. I had no idea it would turn out this way, we did it just twice.”
Lily fell into a pool of silence, as tears clouded her eyes. Exactly what she dreaded was really happening to her, her worst fear, was right in front of her.
When she could no longer bear the ache in her heart, she broke into tears, and pulled Olivia into a tight hug, as she cried harder.
“Mom please say something, scold me, lash at me, hit me, but please don’t ignore me.” Olivia cried, pulling away from her mom to look at her face.
Lily shook her head, sniffling as she tried to stop the tears, but they continued to fall.
“Don’t apologize to me, it’s all my fault. If I hadn’t gotten sick, if I were healthy, if I wasn’t selfish, if I…”
“Mom please, stop saying these, it was never your fault, never! If I was given another chance to save your life and this was the only option I’d still choose to save you.”
“Where did that get you? This is my Karma, Olivia, this is my payback for everything I’ve done, I..”
“No mom, no, it’s my fault, you should have stopped him when he tried to touch me, I should have said no. I shouldn’t have felt good about it, it’s all my fault, I’m sorry mom.”
Lily laughed sadly, which came out hoarse, because of her tears filled voice. These lines Olivia said were the same thing she said, when she found out she was pregnant with Olivia. She blamed herself for letting him touch her, she blamed herself for feeling good under his touch, but those questions didn’t solve any of her problems.
And right now, Olivia was repeating the same lines, it broke her heart more than she thought it would, and she wished she was dead, than to see her worst fear becoming a reality.
“I’ve been a bad mother to you, and I hope you forgive me, now or in the future.” She sobbed, grabbing Olivia’s hands.
“Mom, what are you talking about?”
Lily shook her head, trying her best to smile, which came out forced and funny.
“Did he accept the child? I mean, the father-”
Olivia nodded, “It’s one of the things in the contract, to bear him a child-”
At least, there was a difference.
Lily could still remember how the man laughed at her on the phone, when she told him she was pregnant for him. He called her a slut, a gold digger looking for someone to leech on, he even went ahead to threaten to kill her, if she tried to show up in his life or in front of his family.
Her Pregnancy was like the greatest sin she ever committed, her parents threw her out of the house, calling her a disgrace and Shame, because she refused to abort the baby.
Thinking back at that time, Lily cursed him, Olivia’s biological father, she cursed him with hatred and bitterness.
“I know you’re ashamed of me, mom, but believe me I never wanted this to happen, I…I..”
She didn’t get to finish her words, when her mother pulled her into a hug, kissing her forehead as she patted her back.
“I’d never be ashamed of you, not in this life, not in the next life. You know how much joy and hope you brought to my life when I gave birth to you? I gave you the name Olivia, meaning peace, my peace, my peace of mind. Don’t you ever think I’d be ashamed of you, okay?”
Olivia nodded, a sad smile etched on her lips as she stared at her mom.
“I know it will be hard, but everything will be fine. As for the baby, you’d someday learn to love him, once you realize he’s the only real family you’ve got.”
Olivia seemed to think for a while, but shrugged.
“I love you mom.”
“I love you more, Olly.” Lily finally forced out a smile and kissed Olivia’s head.
It was like a big load was carried off Olivia’s shoulders, as she pressed herself closer into her mom’s embrace.
They remained like that, until a knock from outside the ward startled them.
