She couldn’t believe Yamilet knew even this! Damn Joaquin!
Yamilet struggled and bit down hard on Callie’s hand.
“Help! Everyone come see this woman who repays her family’s kindness with betrayal! Heartless!” Yamilet sat on the ground, rolling and shouting loudly.
Callie’s scalp tingled. She had no idea how to deal with such a shrew. “Get up! Aren’t you ashamed?”
Yamilet cried and slapped her thighs, unmoved.
People from various rooms came out to watch the commotion. They were all wealthy ladies who laughed at the spectacle. One of them said to the receptionist, “What’s going on? It’s so noisy. Do you let just anyone in here?”
The receptionist looked troubled. “Miss Marsh, this…”
Callie’s face turned red under her mask. She took a deep breath and squatted in front of Yamilet, whispering threateningly, “Do you want your son to live?”
Yamilet’s fake crying stopped. She waved her hands to grab Callie. “What do you mean? Are you threatening my son?”
“Keep making a scene here and find out.” Callie’s voice was low but commanding. Yamilet shivered at her gaze and got up suspiciously.
“Let’s talk somewhere else,” Callie ordered.
As they walked towards a corner of the salon, the wealthy ladies rolled their eyes. “So uncouth.”
“Mrs. Blair, I think I heard them mention Mr. Oconnor-that’s the CEO of the Oconnor Group.”
Mrs. Blair glanced back indifferently. “So what? What waves can these cheap women make?”
“True.”
In the corner.
“I’m telling you again-get my son out! He has a wedding to attend!” Yamilet was red with anger.
Callie sneered. “With Ximena? She left Ylosea just to avoid marrying your son!”
Yamilet seemed unaware of this and nearly fainted again from rage. “You’re lying! She wouldn’t leave… It was you! You told Ximena! You troublemaker!”
Callie grabbed her hand and squeezed hard, causing Yamilet to grimace in pain.
“Yes, I told her. What can you do about it? No sane person would marry your son. You should thank me; without me, Joaquin would be dead by now and wouldn’t have a chance to work off his debt!”
“You! You!” Yamilet’s finger trembled as she pointed at Callie. “I’ll go to your rich husband! I’ll make him get my son out!”
Callie pushed her away forcefully. “You dare! If you go to him, I’ll make sure Joaquin stays in that hellhole forever. Try me!”
Yamilet was losing ground and looked like she wanted to eat Callie alive.
“Your son’s fate is up to you.”
“If I were you, I’d live quietly and wait for my son to come out while taking good care of my husband instead of being an overreaching cleaner making a fool of myself here!”
Leaving these words behind, Callie turned and walked back to the receptionist, asking her to continue leading the way.
She was confident Yamilet didn’t have the guts or access to Nelson. However, today’s scene at the salon was risky; who knows if someone might take advantage of it?
Thinking of this, Callie took a deep breath and pulled up her mask higher.
