Nelson’s eyebrows were slightly furrowed because the woman in front of him suddenly became emotional.
Callie felt the glances from others. She winked at Nelson despite sticking her chin out, asking for some reactions.
“I told you that I was drunk,” explained Nelson, with an impatient and a bit anxious look.
“Were you still able to have sex if you were drunk? You are a liar. If I raised a dog for 7 years, he would help me mind the house. What about you? I went through the hard time with you, but you just paid me back by cheating! What am I to you?”
Callie cried in a tearful voice, throwing her cup of coffee onto the ground, while she glanced the woman in a red dress at the bar counter from the corner of her eyes.
The woman stopped her work to look at Callie.
“That was accident. We still love each other, don’t we? Why not just let go of the past and start it over!”
Callie must admit that Nelson was talented in acting, even better than her.
“How should I do that? I can imagine the scene that you had sex with the slut. That’s really disgusting! We are done. Get out!”
“Callie!”
“Get out of here!”
Callie gesticulated under the table. Nelson took a deep breath to recover himself and strode to leave.
He got on the car parked on the side of the road and turned on the computer immediately. He said after clearing his throat, “Let’s start.”
Cora said in a bit hesitant tone, “Mr. Oconnor, did you deal with your business?”
“Yes.”
Callie was squatting down on the ground, crying. Soon, the woman in red dress came to her and put an outwear on her.
“Don’t cry, girl. He’s not worth it.”
Callie raised her head in tears and said, “Thank you… The 7 years we had is so important to me. I really want to forgive him, but I just can’t… can’t let it go. I’m sorry for my gaffe.”
Callie made a perfect figure who was betrayed and felt sad and entangled.
The woman smiled and handed her a glass of wine, “Don’t be sad and sorry. The men are the same. They only love you badly when they need you; when they do not, you will be a burden.”
“I can’t agree more… Oh, I don’t even know who you are…”
“I’m the owner of this cafe. You can call me Violet.” Violet had a feeling of elegance with a bit easygoing, “I noticed you at the very beginning, thinking that you are well-matched. But I didn’t expect he’s such a man.”
Callie put on a wry face but felt guilty for Nelson in mind.
At the moment, the “hero” was listening to his staff reporting work in the car while he stared at Callie who was having a pleasant talk with Violet in the cafe. After about 10 minutes, Callie stepped out of the cafe in “low spirits” but suddenly became vigorous after getting on the car.
“Ha, Mr. Oconnor, do you agree that I’m a genius in acting? You must!”
Nelson immediately muted the computer and made a sarcastic remark, “You should be an actor instead of working for me.”
Although he reacted quickly, but others online still heard the voice of a lady who seemed laughing.
Mr. Oconnor stayed with a female, didn’t he?
Cora who took the minutes clutched the pen, feeling sick at heart as if a viper was crawling and biting on her!
“But your acting, I have to say, was so unnatural,” said Callie.
Nelson squinted at her and said, “How should I know the way to act as an errant husband when I haven’t cheated on a girl?”
“Have you watched any soap opera?”
“Not at all.”
“How boring you are,” Callie said in an incredible tone.
When Nelson was about to say something, a voice came from his computer, “Mr. Oconnor, is there anything wrong with my report?”
Callie’s eyes opened wide. What the heck? He was having a meeting.
Then did they hear her voice?
