Callie raised her eyebrows and said, “I didn’t say no. But you should let me know the reason.”
“The advice of modification they offered fits your style, and I would like to give the opportunity to you,” Skye said in an arrogant manner, seeming that she is altruistic and generous.
But Callie did not buy it. Everyone in this office was of scheme so that they wouldn’t easily let go of the benefit they almost got.
“But I’m afraid that I may not have time to take over it since I have been following up on a new case,” said Callie.
“You are in no position to say no. This project came down from on high, and as your director, I appoint you to the job. If you don’t accept it, then leave. You are not the only one we have in the design department.”
Skye meant she was giving Callie a chance to redeem herself.
Callie showed her a wry smile, with her tongue rubbing her teeth in the upper jaw, “Fine. I will take care of it. But I must forewarn that you guys cannot dictate to change to my design.”
Without saying anything, Skye snorted with a grim smile and walked back to her office.
After Skye left, Callie started to read the files fretfully, thinking about how to refuse the winery’s project. She must give it up since she had no time to take charge of both.
At the moment, one of the male members from Team A suddenly came close to Callie’s desk and stopped. It seemed that he wanted to say something but be hesitant.
He, a faint-hearted type of person, chased for Callie but became estranged from her by knowing she was married.
“What do you want?” Callie asked in an impatient manner, giving vent to her anger on him.
He threw a quick glance at Skye’s office and left a word quickly, “The boss of the beverage company doesn’t have the intellectual property of this project, his ex girlfriend owns it. Skye has negotiated for many times but failed.”
Then he fled to a washroom.
Callie made it clear now. The copyright was an essential part for cover design. If his ex did not relent, the project would be an intractable case. No wonder Skye just gave it up to her.
“Well. What a crafty guy.” Feeling annoyed, Callie took a sip of water and then texted the boss of the winery by elaborating on declining his offer.
The boss felt it a pity, so did Callie.
Litzy leaned into her by sliding her chair and say indignantly, “I know it is a Greek’s gift! But the current key point is to get the copyright from that ex-girlfriend. What’s your plan?”
Callie was thinking about it. She assumed that the beverage company was founded by the couple in the initial stage, but his ex-girlfriend obtained the copyright and left when they broke up.
It was a complicated issue about relationship and business competition.
“Leave it to me. I will try my best,” said Callie.
Anyway, she was a bit interested in this project. It was not only because of its bright future but also because it was a potential proof that she could do what Skye could not!
At 10 PM, Nelson opened the door of the lounge. He raised his eyebrows and said, “Wow, look, pig flies.”
Callie didn’t take a snap today but brainstormed with a laptop. Since wearing the hair down was such a hindrance, she put on a ponytail, showing her beautiful face.
At such a moment, Nelson was suddenly touched by her face and her concentration, finding out that she’s a beauty.
However, when he walked up to her, he became disappointed, “Are you browsing Twitter?”
Callie raised her face, “Not really. I’m doing due diligence!”
She found more via some available information-the second twitter account of the boss of the beverage company-and it was full of the daily posts before he broke up with his ex. However, it stopped updating 3 years ago where they were separating.
“What are you searching for?” asked Nelson.
“For the reason why they broken up,” answered Callie.
