Chapter 18 Being Forced to Drink

Callie didn’t expect this. Her tolerance for alcohol was really nothing to be proud of. It never looked good when she had a bit too much to drink.
“I’m sorry, I’m allergic, I can’t drink any alcohol. How about I propose a toast with tea instead?”
As soon as these words came out, the atmosphere changed instantly.
“Callie, are you joking?”
“Yeah, if you can’t drink, why did you come here? You’re just killing the mood for everyone.”
“You don’t want to collaborate with us anymore, is that the case? You should have said so earlier! No need to waste everyone’s time.”
Everyone chimed in, not giving Callie any chance to explain. Mr. Montes, standing aside, also had a very unpleasant expression.
“Callie, what are you still hesitating for? You should consider it an honour to drink with Mr. Roberson and Mr. Saunders. Stop being so pretentious.”
It seemed that everyone else was enjoying this spectacle.
Callie hesitated for a second but still reluctantly took the glass. She gritted her teeth as she drank it in one gulp.
“That’s more like it! You catch on quickly,” praised Mr. Saunders, pouring another glass for Callie.
Callie really couldn’t drink anymore.
“Mr. Saunders, I really can’t drink anymore. One glass is already my limit.”
“How is that possible, you’re this young! Since you’re already here, you should enjoy yourself.” He poured Callie another glass, completely ignoring what she said.
Callie’s stomach was churning, and she felt very sick. But these men seemed oblivious to her discomfort, pouring one glass after another for her.
After who knows how many glasses, Callie started to see stars swirling above her head.
She burped and quickly said, “I can’t anymore, I really can’t drink anymore.”
But these men just exchanged glances, and smirked at each other.
“Callie, since you’ve drunk too much, there’s a hotel upstairs. Let me get you a room so you can rest a bit,” Mr. Montes said, stepping forward and grabbing Callie.
Callie quickly pushed him away.
“There’s no need, really. I’ll call my husband to come pick me up.”
“Oh, I forgot. Callie is married,” Mr. Montes sneered coldly and then added, “But even if your husband comes, it will take some time. It’s better if you rest a bit upstairs first.”
“No… there’s no need…” Callie said as she fumbled in her pocket for her phone. Mr. Montes reached out to snatch it, but Callie had already dialed a number.
“Callie, give me the phone.”
Mr. Montes was very annoyed, and quickly grabbed it away.
“Hello?” a deep male voice came from the other end, but Mr. Montes immediately hung up.
On the other side, Nelson frowned and called back.
A beautiful ringtone echoed in the room. Mr. Montes, holding Callie, was growing increasingly impatient. Then unexpectedly, Callie reached out and grabbed the phone before answering it.
“Hello, who is this?”
Nelson checked the screen, confirming it was Callie’s number, and asked, “What’s going on?”
“I… I’m fine, just had a bit to drink…” Before she could finish, Mr. Montes took the phone away and hung up again, shoving it into his own pocket.
“Callie, don’t make calls when you’re drunk. Let’s go upstairs and rest.”
It was obvious that it wasn’t the first time that Mr. Roberson and Mr. Saunders did something like this.
“Mr. Montes, we’ll go upstairs first… You can send her up to us later.”
“Don’t worry, Mr. Roberson, Mr. Saunders. I’ll send her up to you right away.”
After Mr. Roberson and Mr. Saunders left, Mr. Montes completely lost his patience and simply dragged Callie out of the room toward the elevator.
Callie’s head was spinning, and stars kept appearing in front of her eyes. Once out of the room, her stomach turned upside down.
“Blechhhh…” she threw up everything.
Mr. Montes frowned in disgust but still dragged Callie into the elevator.
Just then, as soon as the elevator doors closed, they opened again, and outside stood Nelson.
