ESTELLE
“Your… Your eyes. They are…” I stammered, shaking in my spot while pointing directly at her eye balls.
She smirked, tilting her head to the side.
“They… They are…” I stuttered, feeling my heart beating fast in horror.
The eyes of the wolf that tormented my peace and mental health was standing before me, staring right into my gaze. The bearer is someone we’ve known to be wolfless. The monster that almost killed me… That was Brielle all along!
But how’s this possible? I thought she was wolfless?
“What happened to my eyes?” She asked, pulling me out of my thoughts. She gasped out like one in shock, covering her mouth. “Is there something in my eyes? ” She covered them, finally opening it. But this time, the eyes were brown.
“Come on, Estelle. Tell me what happened to my eyes. Are they beautiful for you to behold?” She grinned devilishly, chuckling.
“You’re the Ivy the councils were talking about. The same wolf that kept attacking me!” I voiced, recalling the first time I encountered the beast at Argon’s mansion and the time I chased it through the pathway, only for Brielle to appear, claiming not to have seen a thing.
It was all her doing! She was the wolf, but made me look like a lunatic. And I thought I was losing it.
“So, What if I’m an Ivy? Do you want to give me an award?” She asked, laughing at me in mockery.
While I stared at her, I took my mind to my wedding, the poison, and to… “Jerome,” I mentioned, flashing to his dead body that I saw on the news.
That sent a disgusting and horrifying vibe into my stomach, as I reminded myself that he was being chased by the Ivy as well before his death.
“You killed Jerome. You are the one who murdered him!” I trembled, feeling tears welling in my eyes, just imagining the kind of pain that poor man went through in Brielle’s hands before he died. But despite what I was saying, she just stared at me, looking creepy.
“You brutally pulled his body apart, yet you acted sorry for him when you’re the killer! What… What did we do to you? Why are you…”
“DON’T MAKE ME SLAP YOU THERE! ” She roared out, flashing her green eyes at me in an instant. My heart skittered when she raised her voice, causing my feet to draw back in fear.
“Can you hear yourself? No! Did you listen to the question you just asked?” She drew closer to me.
When I saw her coming, I immediately ran away from that spot, turning to see where she was. There I saw her standing near the banister, glaring at me.
“What did you do? Your stepping into my home is what? Your bullying, slapping, beating, lies… What do you call that?” She questioned, slowly approaching me.
And each steps she took planted fear in me, because I noticed something terrifying. Her body! It was… It was expanding!
“You took my baby from me, took my home and my husband! Like that wasn’t enough, you wanted to make me your stepping stone and trample all over my body. And you are standing here asking that stupid question?!” Her voice slowly changed into the voice of the beast I was familiar with. The Ivy wolf itself.
I slowly drew back, watching how her body faded into a black fur, revealing the demon that rest within her.
“You Imbecile! Lunatic!!” She growled, flashing her green eyes and springing out her long claws. I gulped down my saliva, stepping backwards with speed!
“I’m sure you heard what the councils said about my kind, didn’t you?” She stood up right, showing her full height, with the moon light glistening from behind!
Now it felt like the person I was talking to wasn’t Brielle anymore, but her wolf itself!
“When you mess with an Ivy, we don’t let that person go freely unless we see his or her head rolling on the ground, ” She said, paraphrasing the council’s words.
As I recalled their words, I shivered, realizing that Jerome faced the same fate. Brielle must have discovered our secret meetings and plans against her, that’s why she ended Jerome’s life. And now she wants to kill me!
No, I can’t die like this! I have a lot to live for!
Trembling, I voiced out, joining my palms together and begging, “Brielle, please listen. Let’s talk like ladies. Put yourself in my shoes. I… I did what any other lady would do. Just think about it.”
“Do you think you’re talking to Brielle now?” She asked, smirking at me.
“I… I don’t understand. You’re Brielle, so…” I stammered, only to be shunned by this beast who said, “That’s why you’re dumb!” She chuckled, getting closer while I moved back, aiming for the entrance.
“You aren’t talking to Brielle any more. You are talking to her wolf, Bane!” She flashed her horrifying teeth, suddenly charging at me!
I screamed and ran for the entrance, successfully diving through the door and shutting it close. But the claws of this wolf slashed through the door, slowly breaking the door apart!
“SHIT!!” I panicked when I saw this, falling to the ground.
“Pray I don’t get to you, because I’m going to make your death hellacious!” She roared from outside, giving the door a bang!
When I heard what she said and saw how she banged the door like a maniac, no one told me what to do next. I quickly got to my feet and dashed off, calling for help.
“GUARDS! GUARDS!!” I called out loudly, looking back to see if that wolf was coming. And yes, she was. I saw how she barged out through the door, coming after me like a ferocious beast!
Fear engulfed my whole body system, increasing my speed. With a flash, I dived out of the passage and began to aim for the staircase, calling out to the two guards father hired to protect me.
“HELP ME!!” I screamed when I saw them rushing out from the living room, asking what the problem was.
“What is it, Princess?” They asked, drawing closer to the stairs.
As I was about to head down and tell them what was going on, something came flying from behind with speed, landing on the stairs, in between the guards and I.
It was… Bane!
“HOLY CRAP!!”
“WHO ARE YOU?!” The guards questioned in fear, getting ready to fight this intruder. But I was shaking on seeing how fast Bane caught up with me, dropping that scary eyes on me. She completely ignored the guards, leaving her focus on her main target.
“Don’t think I’m here for games, Estelle. I’m not leaving until my hands are stained with your blood, ” She said, growling while making an attempt to get me.
But the guards came to my rescue. Since she was blocking the part with her huge body, they had to use their wolf skills in jumping over and blocking her path.
“You will do no such thing to her! ” They said, daring Bane.
I was beginning to feel relieved, believing this guards would save me. But when Bane roared at them, flashing her green eyes and teeth… “AHHH! ” They screamed, trying to jump off the banister!
I was shocked! What kind of guards did my father hire?!
Bane didn’t spare them. She grabbed both guards and began to hit them on the stairs like rags.
On seeing how busy she was with those two, I retraced my steps back into the passage I came from, looking for a different way to escape.
“Oh goddess! Please help me!” I cried, diving into my bedroom and locking myself up.
My whole body shook, as I took out my phone, trying to call my father. He’s the only one that can help me now. “Pick up, please!” I panicked, redialing his line. But it kept saying unreachable.
Just as I was calling my father for the third time, my wolf heard the sound of footsteps drawing closer to the room. That was enough to tell me how close Bane was getting to me.
“Damn it, Dad! ” I groaned, tossing my phone to the ground and running to the window, forcing it open.
And just as I was about to escape through the window for my life… “Hello, Estelle?”
“Dad?” I gasped on hearing father’s voice coming from my phone which was on the floor.
“Estelle, what’s the matter? ” He asked.
“Dad!” I yelled, trying to step back and get the phone. But suddenly, the door flew wide open with Bane dashing inside to get me.
Out of fear, I screamed and jumped out of the window, falling directly into the garden. If not for my wolf, I would have lost my balance and tumbled, but I was able to stand firm with my feet.
Without delaying, I began to race for the gate, only for Bane to land right in my front, grabbing my neck! “You aren’t going anywhere!” She roared, lifting me from the floor and slamming me down on the earth.
I groaned out when I felt a strong pain engulfing my whole body due to the flap down.
She repeated this for the second time and tossed me right through one of the window in my living room, leaving me hanging with glasses piercing into my skin.
I shrieked in pain, struggling to force myself inside, only to feel my leg being dragged, pulling me outside and straight for the earth with a powerful slam to the ground.
Father isn’t here to save me and even his guards have failed to carry out what they were hired to do. It’s clear… She’s going to end me.
But I don’t want to die. I don’t want to be killed, not like this!
“What did you do? WHAT DID YOU DO?! That question is so hilarious!” Bane laughed, tossing me into the garden, with my body tumbling. “You only have mouth but can’t do anything! You go about calling me wolfless when you possess a useless wolf in you! Come on!! Show me what you can do, Miss Model!” She cackled, stepping into the garden.
I was coughing out, feeling the taste of blood in my mouth. That sent a signal into my head, triggering my wolf at once.
The moment Bane lowered down to take me from the head, my wolf took over. With my survival sense activated, I sprang out my claw and slashed it directly on her hand, stopping her from touching me. She groaned at my action and almost stumped her foot on my head. But with a swift, my wolf rolled out from that point, getting me back on my feet.
I could feel my Wolf’s fury. It was determined to fight and keep me alive. And right there I gave my wolf the go ahead to take over, transforming into my werewolf and howling out to the moon, feeling my Wolf’s fire.
When I dropped my eyes on Bane, I saw how her eyes glowed with delight, chuckling at me. “Nice! Now I can see you aren’t weak, Estelle.” She took her stance, ready for a battle. “Let’s dance till one of us drop dead.”
“And that will be you!” I said, charging at her.
We both darted at each other, getting into a serious fight!
I slammed my hands into hers, trying to use my strength to toss her down, but she easily threw to me to the ground.
Quickly, I got to my feet and ran towards her, using my full strength to tackle her to the ground from the abdomen, rolling around on the ground, while hitting and slashing our claws at each other’s body.
When I got an upper hand against this demon, I pinned her down to the ground and began to digging my claws into her body, even biting her arm when she tried to hit me off.
But that action gave her an opening, as she suddenly slammed me down to the ground, laughing.
“You call that a bite? Don’t worry, I’ll show you what a real bite feels like, ” She cackled, grabbing my neck and punching my face, pinning me to the ground like the way I did.
With the way she was hitting me, I swung my arm to hit her off. Only for Bane to bite down on my arm, clenching to it tight.
My wolf roared out in pain, landing a punch on Bane’s face multiple times, but she still refused to let go. I could feel her teeth sinking intensely into my flesh with force, digging deeper and deeper.
When the pain became unbearable, I grabbed the bench that was close by and slammed it directly on Bane’s head. Still, she didn’t let go!
I was beginning to lose my mind. This beast was feasting on my arm! Out of rage, I managed to use my knee against her jaw, finally getting her to let go.
Well, so I thought.
My eyes came large when I saw Bane holding something in her mouth! On looking close… “My… My arm!” I screamed in horror, seeing how she bit down on it, slowly taking it out from her mouth. “Not a bad taste, ” she said, licking her mouth.
That’s when I looked at my body and found my arm missing from its socket! I screamed, finally feeling the intense pain coming from the bleeding wound.
My cry was immediately shunned by Bane, who slammed my face with my own arm, hitting me over and over again.
“You always liked to raise this same hand on Brielle. Slap here, Slap there! Now how does it feel to be beaten with your own hand, huh?!” She used my arm to beat me, rendering me useless.
With the excruciating pain, my wolf was slowly losing itself. It couldn’t fight Bane any more, and this terrified me.
“I have to escape. I need to find Daddy!” I panicked, trying to escape this torment.
But it was too late. A battle that has already started needs to have an end.
All of a sudden, Bane grabbed my head and used her wolf speed to jump off the ground, landing directly on the roof of my home.
I was coughing from the beating, staring to the ground that was far away from us. When she turned me over to face her, Bane said, “I haven’t forgotten my promise, Estelle. I vowed that the day I get my hands on you, I’ll make you experience the same pain Brielle felt when you pushed her down the stairs.”
“Bane… Bane please, ” I muffled out while my blood streaked out from my mouth. “Spare me, please. Spare me, ” I begged, crying out.
She grinned at my tears, having this psychotic satisfaction on seeing me in pains.
Instead of listening to my voice, she lifted me up into the air, allowing the moon light to hit down on me, saying, “I should thank you for your actions, Estelle. It’s because of you and Argon that Brielle was able to connect with me after so many years. So, I shall reward you with what you deserve.”
“Please! Brielle, listen to me. I’m sorry! Don’t let her kill…”
Before I could complete my statement, Bane pierced her hand right through my stomach with force, until her hand came out from my back.
I gave out a loud scream, gazing widely at the moon.
“ESTELLE!!” I heard father’s voice from below. But… It was too late.
Bane tossed my body off the roof, watching me fall, until my body landed hard on the ground, feeling all my bones shattering from within.
I still gazed at her, as she howled to the moon with satisfaction, vanishing into the night.
“ESTELLE! NO!!” Father’s voice came out loud. I heard his footsteps before seeing him hovering over my body, falling on his knees and pulling me into his arms.
“Estelle, stay with me! Please, stay with me!!” He cried, scared to even touch my bloody body.
I gazed at father, feeling tears drooling out of my eyes. Slowly, my eyes came shut, hearing his voice fading away.
“NOOO!!”
