ESTELLE
“Queen mother, huh? It will fit you well,” She chuckled, walking majestically on the banister.
I was still overwhelmed by the shock of seeing Brielle here in my home, at this hour! Like… What is she doing here?!
Not just that. The way she was walking on the banister… How’s she doing that without stumbling? No normal person can walk perfectly on such an object without falling off, except you have a…
“No, she doesn’t have one in her. She’s wolfless,” I reminded myself, swaying my head at what I was seeing.
I just couldn’t take my eyes off this woman. How did she get into my home without anyone spotting or picking her scent?
“Why are you mute, Estelle?” She asked, breaking the silence between us.
I lifted my gaze at her face, just to find Brielle staring right at me without any emotion, asking while tilting her head to the side, “Is this how to welcome your Queen?”
Hearing that title, I was immediately filled with bitterness. Queen? That’s supposed to mine, not hers!
“What’s the matter? Are you mad with the fact that your Daddy’s throne was given to a wolfless orphan or because this wretch is now the Luna of two packs, huh?” She questioned, grinning wide while stepping off the banister with ease. “Oh, don’t cry, poor baby. I’m only giving the people what they want. An understanding, loving, caring, kindhearted, pure and innocent Queen. All these qualities, I possess them, ” She proudly said, pointing at herself.
I glared at Brielle, gritting my teeth with detest. “What are you doing in my home, you bitch?!”
“Now, mind how you talk to a Queen of two packs, dear Estelle,” She said, signifying the number with her finger.
That pride she was suddenly expressing, annoyed me to the core. She’s now acting like the true bitch she was born to be.
“Get of my home before I call the guards on you!”
“What guards? You mean those two loaves of bread your father gave a dime to watch over his mentally unstable daughter? Yeah right, ” She said cruelly, rolling her eyes at me.
“Instead of you to bow at my feet with joy, and welcome me into your home, you are insulting me?” She gave out a fake gasp, covering her mouth innocently. “That’s wrong of you, Estelle. Not a good example for the pack.”
“Stop this drama!” I sparked out, shunning Brielle immediately. “Just because this foolish people blindly made you the Luna, you now think you’ve grown wings?! Trust me, Brielle, you are still a nobody! You are worthless!” I fired, pointing my finger at her.
But my action got Brielle laughing. She cackled out like a maniac and said, “Look who’s talking. Between the both of us, who’s the nobody?” Her laughter faded into seriousness at once, almost like a switch.
And the moment I saw that side of her, I felt… Uncomfortable.
“A nobody? If it’s not that, it’s Wretch, Orphan, Wolfless, Bitch… And all these characteristics can’t be found in the one you keep giving those names, but only in you, ” She said, slowly walking towards me, sliding her two hands into her pocket.
“Poor Estelle. You are the most doleful, deplorable and pitiful woman I have ever seen in my entire life.” She came closer, but walked pass me.
I didn’t bother to turn around and face her. I just remained in my spot, puffing out my anger.
“You know very well that you’re unfortunate, right? When you know that things aren’t going well for you, you look for the weakest person to target and make yourself powerful again. Even when you see the whole world turning against you, you still held on to your stubbornness, trying to make me look weak. I mean… Don’t you get tired?” She scoffed from behind.
I wanted to ignore what she was saying, but every word she brought out from that mouth of hers, struck me deeply in the chest, especially my failed relationship with Argon.
“I can still remember that very day you showed yourself to me as Argon’s first love! Oh, it still feels like yesterday,” She giggled, daring to rest her arm across my shoulder.
“GET OFF!” In anger, I shook her off, turning around to face this annoying creature. But she didn’t care about my mood or reaction to her nonsense. She was bent on reminding me of my pains.
“That face… Yes, this is how you always react whenever you saw me with Argon back then. Oh, the hate, bitterness… Jealousy. You just couldn’t stand the fact that Argon’s father chose me to be his son’s wife and mother to his future children. That’s why you pushed Argon into joining hands with you in killing my baby. ” She glared at me, tightening her hand into a fist.
When she said that, I scoffed out and boldly told her, ” You think I was jealous of you? Don’t deceive yourself, Bri. I was never jealous of your misfortune.”
“Says the woman who kept fighting with her lover whenever she sees his Ex-wife doing things she couldn’t do, right?” She smiled, chortling.
Bad mouth! I never thought she could utter all these sharp words from that tongue of hers. The Brielle we all know, aside from the fact that she now acts like an independent strong woman, was known for her sweet and loving nature. But this one before me… She’s a lunatic in search for trouble!
“There are so many things you couldn’t do as a wife or girlfriend, that’s why you made it your goal to ruin everything for me, so you can be happy. Mind if I list them out?” She smirked, walking close to the wall and leaning against it.
Counting her fingers, she started, ” First one; Standing by your partners side. Angel Brielle goes first. Even though her husband was with a different woman, she stood by him always. Estelle… Hmm, Daddy’s girl. She didn’t hesitate to run off like a coward when Argon was losing it.”
I stared at her, as she pointed out all the things I did, comparing it to the similar things she has done. In fact, she made it look like I was copying her, but failed to get anything right!
“In dressing Argon, bad. In expressing, bad. What about business mind? Terrible, ” She kept on mocking me, having so much fun while ticking out my mistakes.
I showed no care to the ones she was listing, not until she mentioned the most painful one that entered me in a swift.
“Carrying her Alpha’s heir? Hmm, you really copied me in this one, Estelle, but the difference here is that you and Argon killed my baby, while you used your own hands in killing yours. But as fate may have it, I’m carrying Argon’s child again. And that’s something you can’t do forever and ever, ” She said, giggling with delight while running her hands around her stomach smoothly.
I watched how she showed affection to her belly, talking about how Argon made love to her. “That crazy man was so drunk in his love, that all he could think about was me. He pulled me into bed and… Gosh! I don’t want to say much, ” She blushed, biting down on her lips like a newly wedded bride. And that provoked me even more. She’s full of herself!
“You know, Argon’s father once told me that he wants me to bear his grandchildren and carry on the family’s name, and I made sure his wish was granted, ” She said, turning all serious again.
But that statement she just made. What does she mean by that?
Brielle carefully drew away from the wall she leaned on and carefully approached me, hovering her eyes around my body with her head shaking pitifully.
“Are you done talking?” I dimmed my eyes at her, crossing my arms. But I wasn’t ready for what she said next.
Brielle calmly placed her hands on my shoulder, ignoring the fact that I hate her with all my heart and soul. Just when I was going to shove it off like before… “That’s why it was important for that ant you called a child, to leave my way.”
“What?” I paused, feeling my whole body shivering at her sudden statement. What did she just say about my child?
Staring straight into my eyes with a cunning smile, Brielle boldly added, “You think you killed your child with your own empty brain? Nah, Estelle.” She chuckled, patting my shoulder while my gaze remained fixed on her in confusion.
“Your baby wouldn’t have left this world, if I hadn’t gotten myself involved.” She grinned, shrugging at me.
But I don’t get it clearly. What is trying to say?
I watched Brielle as she wrapped an arm around my shoulder, pulling me closer to herself with no fear, as she began to reveal things that I never knew about. Things that shocked me to the core!
“Do you remember your best friend, Maya? Well, that sweet soul played a very good role in your baby’s death. I got her out of prison after proving her innocence and she promised to help me in return.”
“What are you saying?! You are the one who got her out?! How did you kill my child?!” I sparked, pushing Brielle off, almost losing my senses at the same time.
She chuckled like everything was a joke, while I kept on yelling at her, “How?! Tell me now!!” This was beginning to scare me. What is Brielle talking about?
That’s when I saw her pointing at her head, saying, “Your mind is unstable, Estelle. If someone tells you to cut your leg in exchange for material things, you will do it. And that was the easiest way to get to you.”
“Quit your puzzles and…”
“The day you returned back to your modeling career, I told Maya to brainwash you into thinking your sweet baby was a burden and hindrance in your path to fame. And it worked like magic.” She puffed out, dangling her finger in the air.
My mouth dropped, recalling that very day. Yes, it’s because of Maya that I decided to take my child’s life. She made it sound like I had carried a curse inside of me. Even when the boss refused to sign me, I would have easily spoken to father to help me in talking to my Ex-boss, but I was clouded with desperation and went ahead to kill my baby!
“So, that means I didn’t kill my child? You… You killed my baby?” My eyes popped out in horror, looking at Brielle.
She swayed her head and said, “Point of correction. You killed your child, not me. You used your own hands in taking out your baby. I wasn’t the doctor or the nurse that attended to you. My hand is clean.” She smiled, raising the hands for me to see, chuckling like a creep.
This was horrifying to me! A whole Brielle that appeared to be an angel in everyone’s eyes, is actually a demon?! She did this to me?!
“You… You monster! You murderer!!”
“Oh shut it! You are the one who killed both babies with your diabolical hands, you greedy bitch! ” She sparked, revealing her true self to me.
“You think that I’d just stand back and allow another woman to take my place as the Luna? No, Estelle. The moment you took my child, my marriage, my life, my peace of mind… I made it my goal to ruin yours as well,” She said, drawing nearer to my point with no fear.
My feet drew back from hers, still trying to process all these shocking information into my system.
“That’s why I pretended to be weak, giving you the go ahead to take me as a fool, not knowing that you were only digging your grave. That’s how I got the public to hate you, then I stole my husband back, my right, your career, your father’s throne…” She placed her hand on her stomach, caressing it again. “And the right to carry Argon’s heir, just as my late father in-law had wished. My right only, not yours, you empty barrel!”
“DAMN YOU!!” I roared, swinging my hand right at Brielle’s face for a slap. But she caught it immediately and suddenly bent my hand to the back.
I screamed on feeling the excruciating pain, trying to push Brielle off. But it was proving so hard for me to do so!
How is she this strong?!
She tossed me to the ground like I was nothing before her, and that provoked me on seeing how a wolfless being like her was treating me like garbage.
I quickly got to my feet and sprang out my claw, almost scratching that stomach of hers. Only for a hot slap to land on my face, sending me to the flow.
My cheek was burning when she dragged me from the ground, bending my hand to the back with no mercy, causing me to scream in pain. “You still haven’t learnt your lesson from our last battle, huh?” She pushed me towards the banister with force, almost sending me off.
I immediately got my balance, panting out before turning over to face Brielle.
“Too bad Jerome and that hunter of yours isn’t here to give you a tip to what I mean, ” she smirked, cracking her fingers while getting closer.
My whole body trembled when she mentioned Jerome and the hunter we had hired then to find that wolf. “Wait, how did you know about the hunter?” I asked, staring back at Brielle.
To my greatest surprise, Brielle grinned with hunger, as her eyes flashed… GREEN?!
“Wha… What is this?!” I exclaimed in horror, staring into the same eyes of the monster that gave me nightmares.
The Ivy wolf… It’s Brielle!
