CHAPTER 143

JEROME
How pathetic! Just look at the once beautiful and attractive model that calls herself a princess of yesterday… Look at the way she’s begging for my Alpha’s attention.
It’s clear that Estelle and her father have finally fallen face flat to the ground. They are the latest gist on the news.
I saw how Brielle humiliated both father and daughter publicly, shunning them with her new found power. Her boldness left me speechless and… A bit terrified of her.
I still recall when she came to see Alpha Argon and I, just to know what had happened with Deron during the so-called partnership deal of a thing.
When my Alpha told her everything that occurred, Brielle immediately came up with another plan, omitting me from it, like I’m a total stranger. She didn’t even allow me to listen to the next phase of this game.
Even though I wanted to be a part of it, I had to compose myself and just stand there, watching this two talk like they have been partners for years.
And after seeing the end result of her plans, I’m stunned to the core. Who knew she had such plans in that head of hers. Still, I managed to put that aside and just enjoy the show.
Deron and Estelle’s shame has been the talk of the packs all around, and I can’t help but laugh at them. Like that wasn’t enough for ‘Miss I’m Important’, she dared to sneak into the mansion, only to get humiliated by Alpha Argon.
What a bad luck. If she had accidentally crossed paths with me, maybe I would have done worst.
“Crazy woman! If she and her father dare to mess with me again, this time I’ll get them locked in an asylum forever!” Alpha Argon roared, making his way to his room. His sleep was interrupted by that mad woman, making him furious.
“Don’t mind those insane people. Just give the order and I’ll handle them for you, ” I volunteered, showing my readiness to help my Alpha.
But before he could say anything, he froze on seeing Luna Brielle coming from the other path with Tania, in a see-through robe. My eyes popped when I saw this. Since when did she start wearing such attire?! Worst, she’s roaming around in that net, like it’s a casual dress.
I can’t even look at her. Gosh!
“Wow!” I heard Alpha Argon mutter while gawking at her. His face turned red, flushing at his Luna’s appearance.
I managed to look at him, watching how this man drooled over Brielle’s body while she approached her room, giving him a smile before entering inside.
I still don’t know how it all happened, but I’ll boldly say it’s Estelle’s fault. She’s the reason why my Alpha has fallen head over heels for his Ex-Luna. He now listens to her voice like she’s the boss around here.
Well that’s how love works. It makes you blind. Still, I know that I can’t stand against this feelings my Alpha has for this woman, especially now that I’ve gotten my position back.
It’s Brielle that convinced Alpha Argon to take me back, and I can’t misuse that chance no matter what. “I need to be careful.”
Seeing that my Alpha has lost his senses, I had to excuse myself and head to the study room to resume with the work I was doing before Estelle’s invasion.
But while working… RING! RING!! My phone began to ring. On checking it, I gave out a mocking grin, chuckling out. “Speak of the devil, ” I chortled, staring at the name on my screen.
It’s no other person but Estelle! She was calling me after being kicked out from the mansion, probably seeking for my help. “I’m sure of it,” I smirked, answering the call.
And just as I predicted… “Jerome, how… How are you? It’s been long, so … Can we meet up?”
Meet up? Haha! This is so appealing to my ears.
“How amusing. You just called and stammered your way into begging. Is this the kind of life you live now?” I mocked, sitting on the table.
My words made Estelle mad. I could tell from the soft groan she made at her end before giving a sigh, requesting for my presence once again. “Let’s just see for some minute, please. It’s very important. I’m not far away from the mansion. You… You won’t miss my car,” She pleaded, sounding serious.
I already know what she wants to say, but it won’t hurt to stand before that weakling and have a few laugh. At least she won’t be able to raise that her shoulder before me again.
“Hmm. I don’t know about that, but fine. I’ll be there.”
“Thank you, Beta.”
“But don’t think I’ll be staying for long. My Alpha can’t know that his Beta went out to see his enemy,” I said, ending the call before Estelle could rage at what I just said.
Having made this promise, I decided to delay the timing by relaxing for a few minutes, getting her to call and text me multiple times.
She even called while I was talking to Alpha Argon, who questioned the constant ringing, finding it annoying. “Maybe answer this person once and for all? It’s interrupting me,” He lifted his brow, showing his anger.
I had to apologize to him, lying that the call was from a worker at the office. “I told him to message me when he’s done with an assignment. He’s the one calling, so I have to head down to the company now,” I lied, getting myself ready to leave, so my Alpha wouldn’t suspect me.
He didn’t even ask any further question because of Brielle’s presence. She had shown up to see Argon for help on something.
Once I saw how distracted he was, I immediately left the mansion to see that annoying woman. I was expecting her to leave after the delay, but she was there waiting. She was pacing around her car like a psychopath, until she saw me. Her brow narrowed at me with anger, as she stormed towards me, demanding to know why I kept her waiting.
“What the hell?! Can you look at the time?! Gosh!” Estelle sparked, glaring at me. “I called you more than two hours ago! You didn’t even reply my texts or call! What is…”
“Are you seriously arguing with the same person you’re begging for help? ” I asked, lifting my brow with pride. That question silenced Estelle at once. She came shut, calming her mood.
Just as I thought. She has become as a pup. I’m going to enjoy this.
