ESTELLE
“You are all over the news. THE WORLD’S MOST SELFISH ALPHA! Beware Red wood! Alpha Deron might sell your family,” I mocked my father, reading the trending headlines for the day.
My father haven’t gotten any sleep since that encounter with Brielle, and also the meeting with Wolf Crest’s Councils.
He had shared the painful response he got from Argon and the council members, which tore not only his soul apart, but mine as well.
I felt shattered knowing that my own father gifted part of his pack to Argon without telling me about it. I still can’t wipe it out of my head. It really pains me!
And worst, Argon transfered it to that wretch. My own pack! He gave it to that woman?!
“Do you want me to read on? There are more than a hundred headings with your name on it. How about the comment section, huh?” I asked my helpless father, who sat right on the couch, with his head bowed like the failure he was.
“Comment it is then. Let’s see… Oh yes! What a dumbass Alpha. The people of Red wood would have been sold off to other packs, if Luna Brielle hadn’t intervened,” I read the first comment, scrolling to the next.
“All hail the queen! She’s indeed a woman of virtue. Despite all the torments she went through, she didn’t allow anyone to change her good heart. It’s best if the people bring down that old man and make Alpha Argon and his Luna, rulers of the pack, ” I read the next, feeling annoyed with what was written by this person. But still, I had to go on, just to hurt my father.
“That’s enough, Estelle. Stop reading those nonsense,” Father said, waving his hand at my direction.
When I saw this, I scoffed out in mockery and asked, “Why? Are you hurt by their words? You’re a man. Things like this shouldn’t affect you.” I chuckled, diving into the next one.
“Crazy family. I think it’s time we make a prayer to the Goddess to wipe out selfish Alphas or Kings with such attitude, starting with the Alpha of Red wood.”
“I said enough! ” Father yelled at me, lifting his head to reveal his red eyes. They flashed at me intensely, showing the pain buried within.
I wasn’t afraid of his roar. In fact, I stood my ground, speaking back to my father. “Now it’s enough? So, you can actually feel pains huh? When your daughter was going through this phase, what did you do?” I questioned him.
He glared at me silently, uttering no word.
“Tell me, Dad! What did you do?!” I raised, getting furious just by recalling how he bullied me since that day Argon kicked us out from his home.
“Yes, I know I did something so bad, but I openly told you my reason and craved for your support. But you turned your back at me, joining Argon and Jerome in insulting me! If… If you had played your fatherly role by standing by my side and helping me get into that show, your daughter would have helped you in getting Argon to take you back without this trick he pulled!” I sparked, tossing my phone on the couch he sat on.
“I would have given you what you wanted! Argon would have returned to us, begging for our attention! But what did my father do? Oh! ” I lifted my hands to the heavens with a grin, ready to add more salt to his wound. “My own father felt I was useless. He immediately took his own daughter as the enemy, plotting how to get Argon to be his son and business partner. He abandoned me, thinking he knows best!”
Lowering my hands down, I gave a giggle and asked, ” But what did your so-called son give you in return? He didn’t hesitate to drain your account and make a fool out of you by using that woman! That same foolish brat that stole my life! She made you the embodiment of shame! You are now the laughing stock on the internet!”
“Shut up! You are acting like a saint, when your own sins are mightier than mine, ” He yelled, rising to his feet to face me. “Your actions cannot be justified! You have done worse than me.”
“And that’s because you trained me in that way, father. I got all my talents from you, including Shame. At least I’m not the one who placed you in this situation you’re in. You did it all by yourself, with your own hands,” I pointed out, smiling at him.
His face turned red, unable to say any other word. He knows I’m telling the truth. All my traits came from him. “I am your own flesh and blood, father. All my character comes from you. Don’t act like a saint as well, because when you first learnt about that baby, the first thing that came to your mind was abortion. So, we are on the same lane,” I laughed, clapping my hands.
I could see the pains in his eyes. He couldn’t bear it. Father fell back on his couch, burying his face in his palm.
The sight of his weakness didn’t just please me, but made me a bit sad. He’s my old man after all. He may have hurt my feelings when I needed his help, but still, he deserves what he’s getting.
“It’s best we put our differences aside and join heads together now. You haven’t just lost your people and business partners’ trust, but half of your pack to Brielle,” I reminded him, grabbing my phone.
“This is the time to be serious and do the needful.” I slowly drew my steps away from him, aiming the door. “I’ll be heading out now. I have something to do. You can use this time to think about all that has happened and let me know your decision. Do you still want to stand against your own daughter or join hands with her?” I said, turning my back at him and exiting the living room.
This incident has at least killed that pride in my father. Finally, I’ll be able to breath without hearing his constant taunts left and right.
But the battle isn’t over. Our home is at the verge of crumbling. I need to do something to stop Brielle from taking over Red wood. It has to be fast.
“And I know what to do.” I smiled, getting into one of the cars parked outside and driving out. After some minutes on the road, I arrived at my destination.
Argon’s mansion.
I didn’t park inside, since Argon has banned me from stepping foot into his home. I just left my car outside, a distance away from the mansion, and did the unthinkable.
Yes, I jumped over the fetch like a lunatic, falling right into the garden and sneaking into the compound. I was glad that the guards around didn’t spot or pick my scent, and that’s because I used a scent-eraser to hide my odor from their nostrils.
Sneakily, I distracted the guards at the entrance of the mansion, tossing something into a corner to get them to move. And when they did, I ran with speed, stepping into the mansion.
Luckily, no servant was passing by. I could scent their presence far away from my point. This was a chance for me to meet Argon.
“I have to find him. I know he’s mad at me, but… He’s still the love of my life. The spark that brought us together is still in him. I just need to open his eyes to see it, ” I planned, rushing for the stairs.
But just when I was about to climb the stairs, I heard someone from above, humming.
Quickly, I ran to the corner and hid myself. Only to see that the person humming was that witch called Brielle.
“And… What’s this?!” I gasped on seeing what this woman was wearing. A see-through robe?! “She doesn’t wear such things! When did she…” I was shocked, watching how she cat walked towards the kitchen, swaying her hips.
My blood came boiling at once. Does this mean that Argon and Brielle are now… “NO! They can’t be sleeping together! I am Argon’s only lover. He’s mine!”
Furious, I ran up the stairs and marched to Argon’s room. I grabbed the knob and barged in, just to meet a sleepy Argon in bed, half naked!
“So… He… He…” I couldn’t bring myself to say the word. I was shattered and mad.
And due to my frustration, I screamed, jumping right into Argon’s bed, grabbing his shoulders and shaking him with all my strength.
“How could you do this to me?! How could you?!” I was yelling and venting my anger on Argon, who immediately grabbed me straight from the throat, silencing my voice.
Choking in his hold, I looked into Argon’s red eyes, hearing him utter, ” How did you get into my home?”
“Ar… Argon!” I choked his name out, tapping his hand for breathe.
“I gave my guards an order to kick you if…” He paused, noticing the smell of the liquid I had baptized myself in. That gave me away, increasing Argon’s rage.
Without hesitation, he grabbed my hair after letting go off my neck, and pulled me out of his room.
I screamed, begging Argon to stop and listen to me. “Argon dear, let’s… Let’s just talk and… Ouch!”
He didn’t care about the pain I was in. He just pulled me out in humiliation, tossing me right outside his home like a trash bag.
My presence was soon known by the servants and that annoying Beta. They came over and were stunned to see me.
“How could you have allowed this brat to sneak pass you?! Kick her out before I fire you all! ” He roared at the guards, who immediately grabbed my arms, struggling to pull me away.
That’s because I began to fight for my freedom, trying to speak to Argon. “We were never like this, my love! You gave me no choice!”
“Be quiet!” The guards shouted at me. But I didn’t stop.
“I had to end our baby’s life because you didn’t care about it! You had no love for our child, that’s why I killed it, just to make you happy! It was for you, Argon! For you! ” I yelled, while being dragged away by the guards.
Despite what I said, Argon didn’t look back. He had his back against me, returning into the mansion with Jerome.
When I was tossed outside, my eyes caught sight of Brielle on the terrace, staring at me. She was still in her see-through robe, looking directly into my eyes, with a smirk on her face.
My hatred rose just by staring at that wretch. It made me wish I could climb up there and pluck her eyes out.
“You have drawn the battle line, Brielle. I will take my Argon from you. He’s mine alone,” I groaned.
