ARGON
“This is the address,” I identified, looking at a coffee shop along the road.
After receiving that text message from Jerome, I had to contact him at once, only to get this location.
He insisted on meeting with me, so he could take me to the place himself. I didn’t want to accept his suggestion, but I had to, since he claimed the place Brielle was staying was hard to describe.
Standing outside the coffee shop, I was greeted by my pack people, who now showed me respect after hearing the news about my reinstation to power.
Even the owner of the coffee store came out to greet me as well, inviting me into the shop for a hot cup of coffee.
“No, thank you, ” I turned it down, showing no interest to the offer.
“It’s free for you, Alpha. Please, I insist,” The store owner persuaded.
Just when I was going to turn him down again, Jerome came out of the shop and stopped the latter from disturbing me any further.
“He said he’s not interested. You can return to work.”
“Yes, Beta. Forgive me, Alpha, ” The fellow bowed, returning into his shop.
I took a look at the Betrayer by my side. He was looking a bit unkempt, and had a rough hairdo. I even noticed that the cloth he was putting on was the same one he wore when I kicked him out of my mansion along with Estelle and her father.
Seems he’s finding it hard to survive out here.
When Jerome turned over to face me, he gave a smile and said, “I’m so happy to see you again, Alpha. I… I heard the news about your installment to the throne. Seems you finally got Brielle to forgive you.”
“I didn’t come here to chit chat, Jerome. You said you know where Brielle is, so take me there,” I shunned him, bringing up the main matter.
His smile faded instantly. He nodded at me and said, “Sure, you’re right. Um… We’ll have to go in your car. She no longer stays here in Wolf Crest.”
“How did you know?” I asked, leading the way to where I parked my car.
Jerome went on to share how he spotted Brielle exiting the pack in a cab yesterday, describing what he had seen her holding. “She had a little bag across her shoulder. Seems her clothes where in it,” He said, opening the door for me.
I glared at his action, so he’d remember his place. He immediately grabbed my mood, apologizing for his action. “I forgot. I’m sorry, sir.”
I ignored his words and got into the driver’s seat, waiting for Jerome to get in.
When he stepped into the vehicle, I drove off at once, following the directions Jerome pointed out to me.
We journeyed out of the pack, and towards a different pack for two hours straight.
This pack wasn’t that popular like the others, but I was still familiar with the place, since I’ve been here to carry out some business in the past.
“Are you sure Brielle is here? ” I asked Jerome, glancing at the buildings in the pack.
“I’m sure, Alpha. Brielle is here. I followed her down to her new place without her knowledge. We’ll be there very soon. Just take the left turn, ” He pointed to a street where a tall three storey building was located.
I had to keep my cool and do as he said, hoping to set my eyes on Brielle again.
I just hope she’s here.
Soon, we arrived outside a grey house with a lawn in front. I thought that was the building, until Jerome took me to the back of this house to see a well built edifice, looking more beautiful than the other houses around.
“That’s Brielle’s house, ” Jerome pointed at the nice house, looking at me.
Finally, I found Brielle’s location. But I can only tell if it’s indeed her place when I see the owner of the home myself.
With a sigh, I walked up to the building without Jerome, and knocked on the door. No one answered at first, until I gave another knock and heard the voice of the one I’ve been craving to see again.
“Hold on, please!”
I recognized the voice. It’s her.
Suddenly, the knob came twisting with a wide swing from the door. The moment it came open, my eyes came locking with… Brielle’s. She was startled to see me outside her home.
“Argon? How… How did you find me? ” She uttered, still in shock.
I couldn’t give an answer but stare at this beauty before me. She wore a nice red top and a black skirt, with her hair flowing down on her shoulder. Her face gave an enchanting glow, bringing out her beauty.
If only she knows how happy I am to see her again after she left. It was just yesterday and it already feels like an eternity to me.
“I want to know how you found me. I didn’t give my location to anyone, so how? ” She questioned, sounding displeased.
It was written all over her face. Brielle didn’t seem happy with my presence, and I could understand her feeling.
“You have a nice place. Won’t you invite me inside?” I asked, trying to be polite.
She dimmed her eyes and said, ” You haven’t answered my question. I made sure no one could find my new home, so how did you locate me within twenty four hours? Where you spying on me?”
“No, I wasn’t. But I was looking for you.”
“Looking for me? Why?” She lifted her brow, crossing her arms.
Before I could speak, Jerome chipped in, revealing to Brielle how he spotted her leaving the pack and followed her. “Alpha Argon didn’t know about this, I swear. Once I found your place, I decided to tell him about it. He… He has been searching all over Wolf Crest for you, ” He explained to Brielle, leaving me surprised.
I don’t remember telling him about my search. How did he know?
With what Jerome had said, Brielle hummed and finally invited me into her home. “You have just ten minutes to explain why you’re here, ” She said, giving way.
Ten minutes won’t be enough, but I can try and make the best of it.
She invited only me into her home, leaving Jerome outside. I gawked at the interior of her place, noticing how beautifully arranged it was.
“You didn’t set this in a day. How long have you been arranging?” I asked, suspicious of the timing.
Brielle didn’t answer me. Instead, she showed me a seat and said, ” You have nine minutes now.”
“You’re seriously counting?”
“Eight minutes,” She deducted, crossing her arms again.
Seeing this, I knew I didn’t have much time. I had to be quick in what I was going to say, hoping the goddess would help me as well.
Clearing a throat and taking my seat with Brielle, I started the conversation, bringing up the latest news. “I’m sure you’ve heard about the news. Argon is now the Alpha of Wolf Crest again.”
“Yeah, I saw the news. Congrats,” She said, looking elsewhere with no care. Her behavior got to me, and I couldn’t help but feel hurt.
Thinking about my time, I went on talking, bringing up the divorce papers. “Tania gave it to me. I saw you signed the pages before I even got back home. You… You didn’t bother to wait to toss the papers right at my face. You left Tania broken into pieces,” I chuckled, subduing my feelings.
Brielle hummed, shrugging at what I said. She still stared the other way, avoiding eye contact with me.
I wasn’t pleased, but still, I had a way to get her attention.
“Well, we are almost divorced. Just one more thing left to handle.”
“What do you mean by almost? ” That statement got her facing my point. She glared at me, waiting for my response.
“I signed every pages on those papers, so what is missing?” Her face filled with discomfort, as she got to her feet in confusion.
Seeing that I had her full attention, I carefully reached for my pocket and pulled out the wrinkled divorce papers, stretching it out before handing it over to Brielle.
She grabbed the papers and began to go through it, saying, “Everything is signed.”
“Keep on turning, you’ll see it,” I persuaded, pointing at the papers.
When she arrived at the last page, Brielle found the missing page I was talking about.
“What is this? ” She asked, taking a closer look at it. In confusion, she read what was written on the page, loudly. “I hereby make a vow to the heaven and the goddess as our witness, that I, Alpha Argon of Wolf Crest pack, will forever stand by my Luna, in sickness and in health, until… Death do us path,” She read, freezing instantly.
I could feel my heart pounding when she read it out loud. I slowly got to my feet and added to what was in the papers, drawing nearer to Brielle, “Not as your ex-husband, but as your true husband, who is ready to do everything in his power to make his Luna happy in our home. I promise to bring peace, joy… ”
I drew nearer to a lost Brielle, who remained frozen before me, staring straight into my eyes.
“And bring love into our home. This is a promise I’ve made, and…” I pointed at the paper. “I’ve also signed it down to show my seriousness. All that’s left is your signature. So…” I bit down on my lower lip, rubbing my back neck nervously.
“Will you sign it? ”
“Is this some kind of joke?!” She uttered, tossing the papers right at my face.
My whole body shook at her action, as I watched Brielle blast out at my behavior, calling it childishness.
“What kind of drama is this? So, you came all the way here to mock me because I am now on my own?!”
“No, that’s not why I’m here! I didn’t come here to mock you!”
“Then what is all these?! Why are you really here, Argon?! What do you want from me?!” She yelled, showing her frustration towards me.
When I saw this, I submitted at once. Looking Brielle straight in the eyes, I said, “I came looking for you, not to ruin your new life or mock you… But to be a part of it again.”
Her eyes flashed at my words. She gazed at me, unable to understand where all of these was going.
Slowly, I reached for Brielle’s right hand and carefully went on my knees, revealing my true mission here in her home. “My coming here wasn’t to bother you. I came here to beg you, Brielle, ” I said.
“Beg me? For what? If this is about the throne and my decision, then there’s no need for that, Argon. I’ve already forgiven you for all your actions. I hold no grudges against you.”
“I realized that when I spoke with the council, but that’s not the main reason.”
Still holding her right hand, I carefully pulled myself closer to Brielle and wrapped my arms around her waist, placing my head right on her abdomen.
She shivered at my action, demanding to know what I was doing. “This is madness, Argon. What is all these?” She complained, feeling uncomfortable.
But knowing what my heart truly wants… “I came here to take back my Luna and my wife. And I’m not leaving this place until you agree to come back to Wolf Crest with me.”
“Wife?” Brielle gasped at my words. I could feel her body vibrating over what I just said.
Lifting my head to look at her face, I met Brielle’s eyes getting all wet. She stared at me, still shocked by the word I used in calling her.
“I made a very big mistake by hurting you all these years. I wish I could turn back the hands of time and correct all my bad deeds,” I said emotionally, slowly getting to my feet to pour out my heart to Brielle.
“The goddess has been given me the sign for long, and I failed to place the dots together. All these time…”
I carefully lifted Brielle’s hand, gently clenching it into mine, only to feel that beautiful vibration again.
This time, it was intense.
It brought a smile to my face, as I shared this with Brielle. “There has been a strong connection coming from you, and calling out to me. But I’ve been blinded for long, unable to see that you, Brielle… You are my mate.”
“Mate? ” Her eyes widened, looking at our hands.
“Yes, mate. Your aura has been trying to bond with mine, but I failed to pick it earlier. But now I can feel the connection, I can feel the strong aura we share. You’ve been the one all along. My… Luna.” I gave a smile, holding her other hand, with my lips pecking them lovingly.
“You are my Luna, my wife. I don’t want you to leave me ever again. I… I love you,” I confessed, kissing her hands passionately.
My heart glowed, feeling that emptiness within my body, filling with joy and love for Brielle.
No wonder I felt so drawn to her. She has been my missing piece all along. My true Luna.
I was ready to prove my passion for Brielle, when she suddenly pulled her hands out of my hold, drawing away, and saying, ” No, you can’t just come here and profess love to me after everything you put me through.”
“Brielle.”
“No Argon! Don’t try to sweet talk me! ” She sparked out, causing my heart to flick at her tone.
Right before me, Brielle grabbed her hair in anger and roared out, “All these years, Argon! I’ve been a faithful wife to you! I tried everything possible to show you how much I loved you, and all you did was shatter my world by mating with Estelle, beating abd hurting me, even… Even killing our own child eith your lover! And now that I’ve finally gotten over that phase, you say you love me? No! This isn’t love, but madness! ”
“Brielle.”
“LEAVE ME ALONE!” She screamed, falling on her knees, bursting into tears. “Just leave me alone, Argon. Go away!”
I was hurt to see Brielle in this state. I couldn’t bear it. I fell on my knees before her, pulling a weak Brielle into my hold.
She didn’t fight but buried herself on my chest, crying out bitterly. “Why? Why now? After what you did to me!”
“Please forgive me. I am so sorry. I’m truly sorry,” I apologized, embracing her tightly.
That’s when I felt her arms wrapping across my back. She squeezed me closely, seeking for comfort. I couldn’t resist her grip. I submitted myself before Brielle, pacifying her aching heart.
“Please, give me a second chance. I promise to make things right. I am ready to do anything you want, just don’t leave me, ” I pleaded, holding her close.
She sniffed in my arms, lifting her head. I lowered mine, locking eyes with her. She stared into my gaze innocently, without uttering a word.
There was a sudden silence between us, and all I could hear was our heartbeat in the room.
Carefully, I cupped Brielle’s face with my hands and did something I’ve never done before.
A kiss. I shared a passionate kiss with Brielle for the first time ever, feeling the strength of that beautiful aura filling my heart and soul.
It was the most beautiful feeling I’ve ever heard. It felt so true.
My lips slowly parted from hers, with our foreheads connecting. We stayed on the floor, holding each other close, with no plans of letting go.
“I promise you, Brielle. I will make things right,” I mumbled silently.
