ARGON
“Three more minutes to go, ” I muttered to myself, glancing at my wristwatch while pacing below the staircase.
This was just three minutes to eight, and I was already waiting for Brielle, so we could head out.
Since the time I stepped out of my room and passed hers, I didn’t see a sign of her getting ready for tonight’s date. In fact, I couldn’t tell if she was going to show up or not.
Her room was as quiet as the graveyard when I walked pass it at around six.
“What if she changes her mind and refuses to go on this date? Should I check? No, what if she sparks at me?” I pondered in confusion, increasing my pace.
Many thoughts came to mind, almost sending me into madness, only for a common voice to bring me back to my senses.
“Why are you dancing around like a maniac? Did something happen?” Brielle questioned from above the stairs.
When I directed my attention to her point, I was blown away by her gorgeous appearance. Brielle wore a familiar dress I once got for her.
Yes, this dress came along with Tania’s gift. I bought this green dress she’s putting on.
“Wow!” I voiced, gawking at the beauty stepping down the stairs like a queen.
She had her brow lifted, asking, ” Have you been waiting for me? ” She stepped down, standing before me with her eyes observing my body.
I was unable to give her a quick response due to her charm. She’s looking so enchanting. My mouth could only drop down with no words coming out.
This was enough to tell Brielle what was going on with me. Well, the opposite of what I thought.
“From your face expression, I can tell that this dress is ugly.”
“What?! No, that’s not why I’m…”
“No need to say it. I’ll just go in and…”
“No!” Quickly, I held Brielle back, stopping her from climbing the steps.
“The dress is fine, I swear! I was just… Admiring you. That’s all, ” I confessed, so she would understand.
To my amusement, Brielle wasn’t planning on changing her dress, nor did she mistake my facial expression for disgust. She was just pulling my legs! “You should have seen your face,” She teased, walking pass me.
My cheeks glowed at her action. I found myself smiling, before following Brielle out of the mansion.
.
“Don’t you have a particular or favorite restaurant?” She asked, crossing her arms.
After a drive from the mansion, we arrived at a nice luxuriant restaurant, located at the center of the pack. We were about taking our seat when Brielle threw that question, frowning at me.
“You don’t like this place? ” I asked, wondering if she didn’t find this place soothing.
She shrugged at me and said, “I didn’t say I don’t like the place, I’m only asking why you don’t have a specific restaurant to visit. You like switching from one eatery to another.”
“Oh, I see.” I grabbed what she was saying, helping with her seat.
“Is this how you move when you where with Estelle? I mean… I shouldn’t be talking about your girlfriend, but…”
“It’s fine, ” I interrupted, not wanting to hear about Estelle or her matter. “Yes, we always change locations. It’s a habit I adapted when I met Estelle.”
“Oh, no wonder. Anyways, it’s fine. I was just pointing it out, nothing much, ” Brielle said, smiling at me.
But now that she has brought this matter up, I felt we should talk more about it. Let’s call it the perfect date topic.
Even though I’ve grown attached to this life, I wished to hear from Brielle. “What do you suggest I do? Is this habit bad?” I asked, submitting before her like a patient to a doctor. And Brielle handled it well by suggesting how I’d move and what to do.
“I’m not saying it’s a crime to enter any eatery you see. You’re a rich man with lots of money. You can dive into any one you like and even buy the place.”
I chuckled at her words, listening attentively.
“All I’m saying is that you should limit it. Select the places you find comfortable and go there. Well, unless you’re dodging someone, that’s when you can use this technique,” She winked, putting more laughter in my mouth.
The date was going well with Brielle by my side. She made every minute special, as we talked about a lot of things and laughed as well.
After our dinner, we ended up driving from the restaurant and stopping at the park to take a stroll, relieving ourselves from the heaviness we were feeling within.
“Waw, it’s a full moon tonight. Look at all those wolves playing with their family,” Brielle pointed at some pack members present on the green land, who had shifted into their wolf form to enjoy the beautiful view from the moon.
“So beautiful. I wonder what it feels like to be under the moonlight, howling and dancing with your fellow wolves, ” She admired, staring at them.
Indeed it was a beautiful scenario, but more lovely and attractive with a clueless Brielle, watching others play around happily in their form.
Her innocence was as pure as the heaven. She has no wolf and can’t tell what it’s like being in that form.
“Does that mean you’re going to change into your beast and join them? ” She asked, looking at my direction.
That got me lifting my gaze at the moon, responding to her question, “No. I will only change if I heed to my wolf’s desire. But I don’t think it’s ready for that this time around,” I said honestly, feeling no sign of transformation from my wolf. It felt odd.
Brielle smiled, sharing her knowledge about we werewolves and the kind of feelings we experience when changing. “Some say it’s painful, others say it’s not. Which should I believe?” She shrugged, planting a curve across my lips.
She’s indeed clueless about all these things, and I can’t help but feel upset with the fact that she has no wolf in her.
Even if she can’t transform into one, I can still do something for her. And I think I know what to do.
“Shall we?” I uttered, extending my hand at Brielle. Her eyes came popping in confusion. She couldn’t understand what was going on.
“I don’t get. Shall we what? ”
“Dance. May I have this dance with you, right under the moonlight?” I requested with a smile.
Her face came flashing with a grin, as she pointed at me and said, ” Nah! I’m good.”
“But why? You can’t say no to this. Remember we’re still on our date.”
“Yeah, I know that. But I won’t be dancing like a mad woman when no music is playing. What would those wolf say when they see us? Lunatics, that’s what they’ll say.”
“Goodness!” I groaned, swaying my head at her silliness. “Just give me your hand, Brielle. Trust me, you won’t feel that way. No one would even look at you, ” I promised her.
She dimmed her eyes at me, but eventually gave in, placing her hand into mine. “If I see anyone laughing at me, I will run away from this park. ”
I chuckled, pulling her close, with my left arm falling around her waist. There was a gasp from her lips when she felt my grip. Her body shivered while trying to maintain her grumpy face.
But when the body dances to one’s touch, surely you can’t ignore its want.
Right under the glowing moonlight, Brielle and I danced beautifully. No music or instruments to give us a nice rhythm, but the silence and the wind was enough to make us move.
Our eyes locked multiple times, with smiles filling the air. An enchanting laugh escaped Brielle’s lips, revealing her beauty under the moonlight.
She doesn’t need a wolf to show herself. She was perfect the way she was.
I had her twirling in my hold, following her body movement while listening to her giggles. It brought a smile to my face. A soothing and heartwarming feeling engulfed my soul.
“I assure you son, Brielle is the right one for you. She’s a lovely girl, ” Father’s words echoed in my head, taking my memories back to the past, when he made Brielle my bride.
How I wished I had listened wholeheartedly back then. Maybe we wouldn’t be in this position, but in each other’s arms.
Just as we were dancing, Brielle suddenly stopped smiling. Her gaze were fixed at me all of a sudden.
“What? ” I asked, wondering if there was something wrong with me. But she pointed at my eyes and said, “It’s glowing.”
“Glowing?” I repeated, putting a stop to our dance and pulling out my phone to check for myself.
She was right. My eyes shone red, revealing my Wolf’s desire to be out in the open. But I didn’t want to let it out, not today.
“Maybe we should head back home,” I suggested, keeping my phone back.
Brielle agreed, pointing out the cold. “It’s getting to me now, ” She said, wrapping her arms across her chest.
Being a gentleman, I covered her with my suit, escorting her to the car.
Together, we left the park and hit the road, heading back to the mansion. By the time I arrived, Brielle had fallen asleep right next to me. I didn’t wake her but carefully carried her in my arms, heading for her room.
Tania was already waiting to assist me. She opened the room door, making it easier for me to step inside.
“I’ll fix up something for you to drink, sir,” She said before leaving the room.
I was already filled up and didn’t have any space to consume anything else. I saw no need to stop Tania, because I didn’t want her spoiling the little moment I was having with Brielle.
Carefully laying Brielle into bed, I felt my body shiver when she held my arm tightly.
My eyes fell on her innocent face, feeling touched by her grip. She had her eyes shut, sleeping peacefully.
I wanted to let go, but the more I stared at her, the more… The more…
I can’t help it. I feel so drawn to her.
Tempted, I lowered my face closer to Brielle’s, slowly bringing my lips closer to hers.
Before I could lock my lips for a kiss… “Here’s your drink, Alpha, ” Tania stepped in, ruining the moment.
I drew away from Brielle, feeling my whole body shivering from what I was about to do.
“Is everything okay? ” Tania asked, walking up to me. But I just acted like everything was fine, stepping back from her point.
“I’ll be in my room. You… You can have the drink,” I said, walking out without waiting to hear Tania’s response.
I wasn’t expecting her to return so quickly.
.
Two days later, at the company, I was busy having a meeting with my staffs when my guard came into the room with my phone. “Its a call from the councils,” He announced to, giving me a heart attack in my seat.
Due to this information, I had to place my assistant in charge while I stepped out to answer the call from the elders.
When I responded to their call, greeting with respect… “Come over, Argon. Brielle has given us her final say.”
“What? ” I was shocked.
Brielle… She has finally given them her answer?
Goddess! What does fate have in store for me? I’m not ready yet!
