ARGON
Stepping back into the mansion, I met Brielle walking away from the living room with Tania supporting her.
“I need to get back into bed and sleep, ” Brielle groaned, walking slowly.
“But you’ve been doing that since the day you returned from the hospital. How about a stroll? I’ll fix you a nice fruit juice if you say yes,” Tania suggested, trying to persuade Brielle into doing something outside staying indoors.
But Brielle grumbled, refusing to do as Tania wanted. “No, I don’t want to stress my legs! Just take me to my room, please.”
“But Luna…”
“Tania, ” Brielle called, glowering at her maid. Her gaze sent Tania into silence. She couldn’t speak against her orders.
“If I say no, then it’s a no. I don’t want to stroll and it’s final.” Brielle sighed, leaning closer to Tania for guidance.
Where I stood watching, I recalled Doctor Nicole’s orders and what she had said about taking care of Brielle.
“Stretching is part of the things she said Brielle needs. She has to step out from this walls and get herself in order,” I viewed, tightening my hand worrily.
Just as Tania was about to escort Brielle back to her room… “Tania,” I called her attention immediately.
Both ladies came to a stop, turning around to face my direction. Brielle, who realized it was me, didn’t keep her gaze locked at my point for long. She just glanced a bit and turned away, acting like I didn’t exist.
“Yes Alpha? ” Tania responded, still holding Brielle.
Drawing closer to them, I said, “You can leave her. Go and get her a freshly made juice. I’ll take her out for a stroll.”
“Really?” Tania’s eyes came large at what I said. But Brielle didn’t look pleased with this decision I made.
Her eyes popped at my words, delivering a frown, with her hands tightening on Tania’s arm. I could tell she was trying to get her maid to say no to me, but Tania had a different response from Brielle’s.
“Sure, Alpha. I’ll do as you have said, ” She responded with happiness, smiling at her Luna.
My eyes came falling on Brielle, hoping she would lighten up and just agree with my plan, but instead…
“I don’t need you to take me out for a stroll. I have Tania here to do that for me.” She pulled Tania closely, directing her towards the stairs.
“No need for juice. Just take me to my room and let me sleep in peace.”
“No, no, no, ” Tania objected at once, pulling herself out of Brielle’s hold and standing right behind her. “You will take a stroll, whether you like it or not! ”
“Wow! ” Brielle exclaimed loudly.
Before my very eyes, Tania pushed Brielle towards my point, causing her to stagger straight into my arms.
I had to hold her quickly, so she wouldn’t fall. I wasn’t expecting that from Tania though.
“Just take a stroll and I’ll bring your juice. Excuse me, ” She said, hurrying away to the kitchen.
“Tania! Get back here! ” Brielle shouted, struggling to pull herself out of my arms.
Instead of allowing her to do as she wanted, my arms went tight around her body, stopping her from struggling any further.
And that got Brielle’s attention immediately. She turned her head to look at me, glancing at my arms then back at my face. “What are you doing?” She asked, dimming her scary eyes.
My body shivered, while I stammered my words, “Um… I… I was just helping…”
“I don’t need your help! ” She sparked, forcing herself out of my hold, and drawing her steps away from my spot.
“Brielle.”
“Can you just stay back? ” She ordered, giving me the palm while walking backwards to the staircase.
I did as she wanted, stopping in my track while listening to her rant about why she doesn’t want to head out for a stroll. “I just want to stay in bed. Is that too much to ask? ” She grumbled, still distancing herself from me.
“You don’t have to stress yourself over something you don’t wish to do. Tania will hell when she’s back, ” She said, turning around to leave.
But I can’t allow her to miss any of Doctor Nicole’s advices. I want her to get better again. If she doesn’t want to listen, then she leaves me with no choice.
My eyes were still fixed on a sluggish Brielle, who was taking her sweet time to get up the stairs. Having made my decision, I climbed the stairs and took hold of Brielle.
She grouched at my action, asking, “Now what?! ”
Before she knew what was happening, I lifted Brielle off the stairs and straight on my shoulder.
“What the hell?! Argon! Put me down! ” She shouted, dangling her legs at my face. Still, I didn’t listen to her. I took Brielle out of the mansion and began carrying her around the mansion, still on my shoulder like a bag of materials.
“Argon! Don’t get on my nerves! I said I won’t stroll!”
“But you’re already doing it. See, we’re already heading to the back. Isn’t this fun?” I smiled, holding her firmly.
As stubborn as she was, she kept swinging her legs, making it hard for me to keep up with her weight.
“Is it me or are you heavy like a rock?” I moaned, feeling her weight getting heavier by the minute.
My hands were beginning to shake, unable to hold Brielle any longer. The moment she gave another swing with her legs, I lost my grip, dropping her off immediately.
Brielle jumped off my shoulders and began to run off like… Like crazy!
“Hey! How are you able to run? ” I was stunned, seeing how she zoomed off and out of my sight.
Has she been pretending to be ill or is this her safety instinct kicking in?
Whichever way, I had to get Brielle back and make her take a stroll no matter what.
“Brielle!” I called, going after her.
Straight ahead, I found Brielle heading to the front of the mansion and speedily into the parking lot. It didn’t take long for her to start panting out, reaching for the wall to catch her breathe.
Better! She’s tired.
I got close to a tired Brielle, watching her pant for air. She leaned against the wall with her forehead dampened with sweats. Her mouth opened down, breathing in and out. Her face expression… It was hilarious!
I didn’t realize when I came out laughing, trying to cover my mouth from Brielle. But it was too late. She saw how I laughed at her state.
“What?” She glared at me, still catching her breathe.
I tried to speak but found it hard to do so. And that only made Brielle upset with me.
“Laugh all you want, after all, I’ve always been a laughing stock in your eyes from day one, ” She said, turning her gaze away.
What she said ceased my laughter straightaway. Instead, it left a spark of guilt within my heart.
Brielle managed to get herself, carefully standing straight. She wrapped her arms across her chest and made an attempt to walk away.
When I saw this… “Brielle, wait please,” I stopped her in her track, reaching for her hand.
She looked at me without a word. Only her eyes did the talking.
“I…” I uttered, freezing next. But keeping shut wouldn’t help me, if I really want Brielle to trust me.
With a sigh, I spoke up, making my request known to her, “Please, just give me a chance to prove myself to you. I really want to help you get better again. Just… Just this once, let me take care of you. I swear I won’t trouble you. I really want you to get well.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes, that’s all I ask for. Just give me this chance, please.” A light squeeze to her hand, I assured Brielle that I would make her feel comfortable around me.
“You will have no reason to complain when I’m done,” I smiled.
She still remained silent, hovering her eyes on me. With no words, Brielle pulled her hand out of my hold and carefully made her way to the entrance of the mansion.
Her behavior made me unhappy. Seems she’ll never give me the opportunity to show myself to her.
“Hey!” Brielle’s voice came in, pulling me out of my thoughts. I lifted my head and saw her waiting… For me?
“Who’s going to help me back into the mansion? You’re the one who dragged me out, so do your job.” She crossed her arms, lifting her brow.
Is she serious?
Does this mean she has accepted my request?
No need for her to say the word, her body language was already doing the talking.
“We can take a stroll later at noon. For now, I wish to rest. Can you help me to my room?”
“Sure, I’d be happy to help, ” I accepted, rushing over to her point.
This is a start for me. I just hope she doesn’t change her mind and kick me off. I just have to be careful and make her happy.
