“Why is she all alone? Where’s Alpha Deron?!”
There were a lot of noises in the background, giving me nothing but headaches. I couldn’t tell who it was, but I was sure of one thing… And that’s the fact that I hate noise makers!
Out of anger, I opened my eyes to yell at whoever it was that was disturbing my peace, only to feel my whole body turn weak.
There was this strong wave that travelled into my bones, causing my skin to turn cold.
“What’s wrong with me? ” I muttered out, trying to sit up. That’s when I heard someone say to another, “She’s awake!”
I groaned while lifting myself. My eyes were still blurry, giving me no clue of where I was at that point. I lifted my head a bit and noticed two figured in front.
They both wore white.
“Is… Is this heaven? ” I asked one of the figure that came closer to me. But the moment this person’s hands took hold of my eyelids and widened them both, my vision came back.
I recognized the fellow before me. This is Doctor Nicole! She hummed and asked, “Can you see what’s on my face?”
“Yes, I can. You’re putting on glasses, ” I responded, pointing out the object shielding her eyes.
“Okay, that means you’re fine. At first I thought you had gone blind,” She chuckled, stepping away from me.
With my vision back, I could see where I was. “This is the hospital. How did I get here? My… My wedding!” I gasped, remembering the wedding ceremony.
That’s when I recalled how Brielle stormed in and ruined everything by ordering me to go naked before everyone!
She shocked me with such an order! I was ready to turn the tables around and make her go naked before the crowds, but that’s when I felt that deadly burnt that almost drove me out of my skin.
It was so horrible!
“Place a call to Alpha Deron. Let him know that his daughter is awake, ” Doctor Nicole instructed the nurse who stood at the door looking at me.
She nodded at the order, set to rush out of the room.
“And please, I need to know why he’d leave without telling anybody. He didn’t inform a nurse that he was going, he just left the patient by herself!” She complained, getting annoyed with my Dad.
Wait, Father was here? Then that means… Argon!
I felt my heart glow on remembering my darling Argon. Where is he?
When the nurse left the room, I immediately asked Doctor Nicole, “Where’s my Argon?”
She directed her eyes at me, giving a serious gaze, as if I said something abnormal.
“Argon, my husband? Where is he?” I repeated my question.
Doctor Nicole sighed and finally gave her response, crossing her arms at me, ” He’s fine.” That was all.
“Just fine? Isn’t he around?” I asked, navigating my attention to the door, seeing a few people passing by.
From her raging words, I realized she only mentioned father and didn’t add Argon. Could it be that he went home after bringing me to the hospital?
“Is he on his way to the hospital? He… He must have felt so hurt on seeing his poor darling wife in this state, ” I said to Doctor Nicole, expressing my love for Argon.
But still, she kept a straight face, lifting her brow at me. Some family doctor she is. Once I’m out of here and back at the altar with my Argon, I’ll make sure he changes her from being his family doctor after our marriage. She’s unfit.
Just as I was planning Doctor Nicole’s future in my head… “Now that you’re awake, I’d like to know how you plan on delivering the news to the Alpha.”
“News? What news are you talking about?” I stared at this woman who was speaking in riddles. What news is she referring to?
“I see no reason why I should tell Argon that I’m awake, when he’s coming down here to see me.”
“Who said anything about your waking?” She dimmed her eyes at me, letting out a smirk.
That curve sent my brain calculating the question she had asked. I couldn’t tell exactly what she meant, until something sparked my brain.
A cold chill ran down my spine, as the thought of the news she was hitting on, filled my memory.
She can’t be talking about it! Please let this be a joke.
“Are you afraid to tell him about the baby or should I do the talking myself?”
“Stop!” I raised my voice at her, attempting to drag myself out of the bed. But my weakness held me down, causing me to groan out feebly. “You… You ran a check on me, didn’t you?” I questioned, slowly lifting my head to look at her.
She just shrugged at me and said, ” As the Alpha’s Doctor, it’s my duty to make sure his heir is alright, after saving his bride from a deadly poison that almost took her life. But to my surprise, I met the bride’s tummy empty. Where is the baby? ” She titled her head.
Fear took over me instantly. She knows the truth!
“Beta Jerome and your father know about the baby’s death. They don’t know it was killed by its mother. Oh, they were shattered,” She revealed, frightening me even more.
Scared, I asked, “Did they tell Argon about the baby? Please tell me they didn’t.”
“No, I don’t think they told him the truth, otherwise he would have stormed down here to know how, and I would have told him that his bride KILLED his child, ” She answered, emphasizing on the K word.
Her response sent a warning to my brain. If I don’t act fast, I may regret it later on.
Pointing at her, I warned, “Keep this between us, Doctor. If Argon should hear about this, I swear I’m going to make you regret it. Is that clear?”
“Easy there, princess. You can trust me on that.” She promised, lifting her arms. “But what are you going to tell him? The child is gone, so surely he’s going to find out about the truth. If he asks me what caused the death, I have to tell him what happened.”
“Don’t try to act smart with yiyr stupid lectures, Doctor!” I yelled at Doctor Nicole, who still held her arms in the air like one on gunpoint.
My heart was racing due to the topic she started. It has wiped every bit of strength in my body.
It was troubling my heart, but my mind was still working.
“Argon… He will learn that his child is dead, but you’re going to tell him that the baby died due to the poison. Yes! Let them think the fetus died because of the poison.”
“Isn’t that lying? A future Luna should live by example,” She gasped out, covering her mouth.
What a drama queen! She’s acting as if Doctors don’t tell lies like every other people. With a strong voice, I repeated my order and threatened Doctor Nicole. “Don’t think I’m here to play. If Argon should find out how his baby died, I will ruin your career!”
“Fine, I’ve heard you. I’ll tell them the poison killed the baby.” She lowered her arms down, slowly stepping backwards to the door.
“You better stick to your words. I am going to be your Luna soon, and if you dare to go against me, I’ll punish you,” I threatened with pride while staring at her.
She hummed at my words and said, “I’ll reach out to him and let him know you’re awake. You just take care till then, Luna. ” She smiled, exiting my room.
When she left, my whole body became heavy due to the fear that was engulfing my heart. I wasn’t expecting Doctor Nicole to bring the topic of my baby. I didn’t want anyone to know about it!
“Shit! Shit!! SHIT!!! She now knows the truth, and it’s all because of the animal that poisoned me!” I sparked, biting down on my fingers.
I had everything planned out from day one. It was meant to be a silent mission.
After the engagement ceremony, I decided to pursue my dreams and flush out the rubbish hindering me from achieving my ultimate goal. I even came up with a nice story to fill Argon’s head, just to cover up the child’s death. And that plan was to frame Brielle as the killer and make the news go wild.
That way, I’d be killing two birds with one stone. Everyone would see Brielle as a killer and when I’m sulking like a broken mother, Argon would have no choice but to give me whatever I want just to please my aching heart. That’s when I’ll bring in the Universal show and get him to support me in taking part in the program.
And with the baby gone, Brielle being accused for its death, and a sorrowful mother trying to find her path, my boss would have no choice but to sign me in.
But what happened? Everything just flopped in one night!
“That woman better do as I have said. Argon needs to think the poison took our baby. So, when he comes over to see me, he’d meet a shattered mother. Maybe this isn’t so bad after all.” I nodded at the new change in my plan.
All I have to do is wait for him to show up, and then I’ll execute the task.
“Forgive me, Argon. I’m doing this for my future. You won’t just marry a princess, but a Universal Runway Queen. Then after that, we can think about our home.” I grinned, picturing the future ahead.
I’m sure he’ll consider me when he sees my wet eyes. He’s my Argon.
