ESTELLE
This is nothing but torture!
Throughout that day, Argon didn’t even come near me. He stayed with Brielle, even chasing her from behind like a dog.
Just like Jerome had said, Brielle didn’t have to lift a finger to order Argon to follow her, she allowed her body to do the talking, and he obeyed.
I was so mad when he ignored my request for a glass of water. When I told him that I needed it for the sake of the baby, guess his respond.
“I don’t see any chains on your legs. Stop bothering me and go get it yourself.”
Imagine!
But when Brielle, Miss I’m so important, stepped in and told Argon to give me a glass of water, reminding him of our baby, he sighed and obeyed!
What the hell?!
“You should be at your place, not here, ” Argon had said to me, handing me the glass.
This… This ached my beautiful heart.
My darling is being snatched from me and I’m sitting here helplessly, not knowing what to do.
I watched how Brielle, portraying the saint, drew away from Argon multiple times, trying to be all alone. But that only attracted his attention! He kept following her like a fly!
This was beginning to bother me and I needed to find a solution to this mess my father and I made. Otherwise, my Argon would end up renewing his vows with this criminal!
“Two can play at that game. If you think you can ignore him and get his attention, I can also do the same, ” I decided, making plans.
In the next few days that I visited Argon, both at the company and at his mansion, I played the silent treatment, walking pass him many times and pretending he didn’t exist.
Still… I mean STILL… He didn’t look at me like the way he did with Brielle!
This was getting on my nerves.
I almost exploded at him when he left me to walk by myself down the staircase, after ordering me not to enter his room.
“You are not heavy, so why should I support you? The same legs that brought you up here with no support, can still take you down stairs, ” He had said to me, provoking my beautiful, angelic, innocent…
“This is so funny, ” I heard Jerome’s voice from the corner. He was laughing at me.
I dimmed my eyes at this stupid Beta who doesn’t have any respect for me anymore. He grinned at me and walked away, delivering a mocking wave.
“This is frustrating, goddess! Why are you allowing the enemies to harm an angel like me? Please, show me a sign.”
But I got nothing from her. The remaining days were still the same. And it was killing.
On a Wednesday afternoon, I got a call from my manager, calling me over for an important work.
I didn’t want to go at first, but with all the boredom I was feeling, I just dragged myself down to that place.
When I stopped into the building, dragging my feet sluggishly…
“Well, well, well. If it isn’t Miss Shameful. I thought I’d never see your sorry ass after that embarrassment.”
“Wait, that voice!”
I turned around and saw… “Maya?!”
The witch that brought that public shame on me, was standing here in the modelling training hall!
She had a nasty grin, showing off her shape in her fitted black dress. “Did you miss me, Estelle?” She giggled.
“How… Who… You criminal! Who got you out of jail?! You have no right to come back here after what you did to me!” I groaned, getting raged.
But I was interrupted by my manager, who stepped in and said, “Maya is not a criminal, Estelle. The authorities had conducted their search and discovered she’s innocent.”
“What? That can’t be true! She… She had a piece of my clothing in her finger nail.”
“Maybe it got there by accident, because a lot of tests were carried out and Maya came out spotless,” My manager said, defending my enemy.
I couldn’t believe this Mumbo Jumbo he was telling me. She must have bribed them to set her free.
I glared at Maya, who smirked at me with pride, saying, ” Yes, Estelle. A test was conducted. They scanned your rag attire and didn’t see any trace of my DNA on it. And when it came to using my claws in ripping a material similar to your rag, mine didn’t match the slash done on yours. So, it’s a happily ever after for me.” She giggled, covering her mouth.
This felt like a nightmare to me. If the authorities are saying she didn’t do it, then who did?
“I hope you understand it now, Estelle?” My manager questioned, waiting for my answer.
With two against one, I hummed and accepted this story. So, who is to blame for my humiliation?
“Now, the reason why I called you here is because we have a show coming up in three days time, and you and Maya will have to be there.”
“Okay, that’s not bad.” Yeah, not bad, as long as it’ll take my mind off all the frustrations I’ve been getting from Argon and that wretch.
“The theme is called ‘Her Shadow’. Attires for the show has been made down.”
“Great. So when do I get the main costume? ” I asked, referring to the most beautiful attire that’s always meant for me, since I’m the face of every show.
But to my surprise… “Um… This time… Well, the boss has decided that Maya would be the face this time around, not… Not you.”
“What?!” I uttered in disbelief, staring hard at my manager.
Maya was already chuckling at the corner, showing her delight to the news.
“What do you mean by that? I’m always the face of every show hosted!”
“Yes, we know that, but with your current reputation… Well… They want a change.”
My heart sank at this notice. I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Maya will be the new face and I’ll be her second? She’s… She’s always the right hand whim, not me!
My manager made it clear. He congratulated Maya and told her to get ready. She assured him that everything would be fine. “I won’t bring a bad name to the organization,” She said with pride, indirectly talking to me.
I stood there, gazing at both of them. I can’t believe my spot is being taken right before my eyes.
When the manager left, Maya proudly said to me, “Seems your title as a princess wasn’t strong enough to keep you in your spot, Estelle. Your life history is all over the internet. You are always the talk of the town.”
“Shut up, Maya!” I groaned at her, but she didn’t listen.
She kept hammering on all the public embarrassments I’ve been facing, calling me an inspiration to the world.
“The young generations would one day remember Estelle as the whore who tried to steal someone’s husband, having no iota of shame,” She laughed.
Out of anger, I grabbed her arm, tightening it with my strength. “Where you deaf?!”
All of a sudden, she yanked my hand off hers and held me in her clutches, bending my arms behind my back.
I groaned when she did this, hearing her whispering into my ear. “You know it’s the truth Estelle. I’ve been following the news and I’ve seen how useless you’ve become. Your so-called Alpha no longer looks at you like before. I heard he’s all over his Ex-luna,” She gossiped.
I struggled to break free from her hold but felt weak when Maya called Brielle the true queen. “I know I was mad at her for allowing a whore like yourself to take her place, but after seeing how she handled her ex-husband’s problems like a true woman… Damn! She’s a badass queen, and I hope to see both Alpha Argon and Luna Brielle together… Again.”
“I SAID SHUT UP! ” I roared, using my wolf strength to finally push her off.
I turned around to face Maya, who was laughing at my rage. She mocked and told me to get set for the show. “The theme fits just right, because this time around… You’re in my shadows. Have a pleasant day, princess.”
She left, cat walking with pride.
I was engulfed with anger that I couldn’t stay long at that place. I stormed out and made my way back to my home, scattering almost all the furniture I came across.
“I refuse to be downgraded! I am a princess!!” I yelled, tossing things around.
The servants tried to intervene, but drew back when I sparked at them. I soon broke down and began to cry, unable to contain this frustration.
It must be the little one at work. It must have felt it’s mother’s pain and expressed its sadness through my tears. Yes, my baby… It needs to be around it’s father.
“I think I should go and see Argon. Even if he ignores me, at least I’m fine with his presence,” I planned.
Quickly, I drove down to Wolf crest to be with my Alpha. On stepping into the mansion, I began to feel… Dizzy.
I held my head and noticed how the whole place began spinning. I couldn’t call out for help but felt so… So weak.
Suddenly, I lost my balance and almost fell when someone’s arms came around my body with speed, calling out to me.
“Are you okay, Estelle?” I heard Argon’s voice. He was the one who saved me from falling!
Oh goddess! Am I dreaming?
“What is wrong with you? ” He complained, taking me in his arms and into the living room.
I tried to speak but Argon shunned me, talking about the baby! “You know you’re pregnant, yet you’re troubling yourself. Be more careful next time,” He warned, laying me on the couch.
When I saw this, I felt goosebumps all over my body. He just showed his care towards our baby. My Argon still loves me.
I was busy admiring this man, who ordered his servants to get me a glass of water, while he attending to me, only to spot Brielle stepping into the living room.
As soon as I saw her, my anger triggered, causing me to use her own trick to get Argon on my side.
I decided to act like one who didn’t care about Argon’s treatment. I wanted to leave, but Argon ordered me to stay.
“Rest. When you’re fully better, I’ll take you home.”
“But Argon, I…”
“Estelle, for the sake of the baby, please.”
“O… Okay, ” I said innocently, letting out a smile.
I carefully directed my eyes at Brielle and saw how she stared at me, emotionlessly.
But I can see through that blackness of hers. She’s jealous of me. I’m the one with Argon’s baby, not her.
How I wish I could hear her inner screams. I bet she’s crying within.
She said nothing but turned around and left, giving me the breathing space I needed.
That’s when I realized something.
“I don’t need to act like Brielle to get Argon’s attention. I can use our baby against him. Yes, this is perfect.”
