“What am I going to do now?” I asked myself while stepping out of the hospital, thinking about Brielle.
She has quit her job because of Jerome’s action, and worst, she thinks I had a hand in his crime.
“Why did he have to ruin this for me? What got into his big head?!” I groaned while approaching my car, unable to take out Brielle’s raging glare from my mind.
“Has he forgotten how hard it was for me to get Brielle to relate with me? Yes the company’s problem had played a bigger role in it, but still I did most of the work. And in just one day, he ruined it all! God dammit, Jerome!”
This was beginning to stress me out. I couldn’t concentrate properly, knowing that Brielle is angry with me for something I had no hand in.
“I have to fix things up with her. She needs to understand that I didn’t join my beta in taking the document. I… I just hope she listens, ” I wished, getting into the car.
Heading back to the mansion, I made a few stops at some shops and got some things for Brielle.
I call them my ticket to solving world problems. “I just hope she doesn’t throw them at my face, like the way she did with the document. ”
Arriving at the mansion, I noticed my Beta outside the mansion with two guards, talking.
When he saw me, he gave a smile, making an attempt to approach me. But since I was still mad at him, I frowned at his smiles and walked into the mansion.
“Alpha,” Jerome called from behind. I could smell him close, even his footsteps were loud.
He came in my front and began to apologize for his actions, seeking for forgiveness.
“Have you gone to beg Brielle for forgiveness?” I questioned, dimming my eyes at him.
He nodded and narrated how he carried out the task, even demonstrating how he knelt before her.
“And what was her response?”
Jerome stared at me silently, rubbing his back neck. That was enough to show his so-called begging was rejected.
“Damn. He even went on his knees and she still rejected him? Oh, she’s really mad. Won’t this affect me as well? ” I panicked, rubbing my chin while in thoughts.
“She refused to listen to me, Alpha,” He finally responded, giving me the sad eyes. But it only made me mad.
“Of course she won’t listen. What you did was awful.” I pointed out, so he’d get it.
I told him to leave my sight, still showing my anger towards his act. My beta bowed at me in sadness, before walking away.
“Now I have to meet Brielle and solve this mess. I’m sure she’d reconsider, since we’re almost Fri… Fri… Friends,” I dragged that particular word, knowing the main truth.
She doesn’t see me as a friend. I’m just motivating myself.
Summoning my courage, I climbed the stairs with the shopping items I got, heading for Brielle’s room.
Upon drawing near, I found Tania guarding the door like a bodyguard. Her arms crossed against her chest, puffing like a bull.
“I don’t like this. Seems she has ordered her to blow a lie when I show up, ” I believed, remembering the last time something like this happened.
But still, I was ready for anything, even if it means facing her anger.
I drew nearer to Tania, who freaked out on seeing me. “Alpha! I didn’t see you there.”
“Move, I need to see Brielle,” I ordered, trying to get in. But Tania blocked my path, saying, ” I’m sorry sir, but the Luna has instructed that I keep you out. She’s busy at the moment.”
I knew it! Brielle told her to lie. This time, I won’t listen.
Desperate, I grabbed Tania’s arm and pulled her out of the way. She shrieked out, begging me not to go inside.
But I paid no attention to her screams.
When I swung the door open, my eyes came wide at what I saw.
Brielle… She was half naked!
She had a towel wrapped around her chest down to her knee. Her hair was soaking wet from the shower she just had.
I froze at the sight of her body. Her figures were… Wow!
Immediately she dropped her attention at my direction, gazing out in shock… “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?! ” She yelled, glaring at me.
My body shivered at her screams, causing me to freak out. “Sorry! Sorry!! ” I apologized, rushing out of the room and shutting the door at once.
I stood right next to Tania, filled with heat. My whole bold was burning from what I had seen. I wasn’t expecting that.
“Um… Alpha, your…” I dropped my gaze on Tania, who was staring at me weirdly.
She pointed at my cheek and asked, “Do you need Ice? I think you’re burning.”
Shit! Am I turning red?!
This is so embarrassing!
“Well, I did say she was busy. You wouldn’t have believed me if you didn’t step in to see for yourself. Now you’re out with your face turning red,” She laughed, patting me on the shoulder!
When she saw my large eyes, glancing at her hand which was still on me, then back at her face, she slowly drew it back, dragging her feet along.
“I’ll get you some water,” She said, running away.
I groaned out in embarrassment, leaning against the wall.
“I thought she was lying. Gosh! I wasn’t expecting to see Brielle like that. I didn’t…” I paused, reminiscing her figure. “But I have to admit, she looks so hot.”
The image of her body triggered an inner feeling of desperation, tempting me to sneak a peak at Brielle. I couldn’t hold it back.
I took a quick look at the direction of the staircase, just to make sure Tania wasn’t coming. But before I could look through the slight opening of the door, it came wide open!
“Brielle!” I called out in shock, seeing how she stared at me with so much anger in her eyes.
She was putting on a dress to cover her body. Seems she noticed I was still out here.
“I was… I…” I stammered.
“What are you doing here? ” She questioned, lingering her eyes around me, until it fell on the bags in my hold.
“You went shopping to bribe me?”
“Bribe? No! Brielle, listen… What happened at the company has nothing to do with me. I swear to the goddess that I didn’t know Jerome was cooking up such a scheme,” I explained, trying to get her to listen.
She frowned and turned her back at me, stepping into the room.
I immediately followed her, still talking and explaining everything.
“You were right about the sneaking out of a thing. Jerome did visit the company, and I fully support you Brielle. He did you wrong and deserves to be punished for it. That’s why I suspended him from his work. He won’t be at the company until you say so. How’s that?” I shared the news, so she’d see how far I’ve gotten before coming down here.
Brielle lifted her brow at me, crossing her arms. Her eyes fell on the shopping bags once again, questioning my intentions, “So, you bought these to convince me that you’re innocent or to tell me you’ve punished your beta?”
“Um… Both?” I replied in confusion.
She hummed at my words and said, ” You seem to have forgotten that things like this don’t interest me. Such gifts would only leave me suspecting the giver’s intentions behind it. Could it be that there’s more to this that meets the eyes?”
She smirked cunningly, leaving me troubled within. Seems she has fully adapted to this mind-set that any gift given by me is ingenious.
But it’s nothing like that.
Feeling upset with the outcome, I said, lowering the bags down, “Look, I can understand why you’d feel this way, but I swear to the goddess, I didn’t get this gifts to trick you. It’s… my way of expressing my care.”
When I said that, I noticed a shimmer in Brielle’s eyes for me. She no longer looked angry but amused.
This brightened my heart a little, motivating me to say something else. “How about we head out to a restaurant and talk more? See it as my way of saying sorry, ” I offered, extending my hand out to her.
She glanced at it before letting out a smile. “Okay then,” She accepted, placing her hand in mine.
And the moment she did this, I felt that beautiful spark again. It sent a tingling feeling around, spreading a smile across my face.
“Thank you,” I appreciated, clenching her hand into mine, gently.
