BRIELLE
“Was there a hurricane or what? ” Tania asked, swaying her head in shock.
She had seen the disaster at the company and couldn’t take her mind off it.
“Did you see that hole through the lift? It’s huge! What could have created such an opening?” She held her head, walking towards the entrance of the mansion.
We just stepped out of the car before she started talking about the incident at the company.
It’s funny that she didn’t say anything throughout the trip but stayed shut. Could it be that she was in shock after seeing that hole?
“She’ll get over it. Let’s leave her for now, ” Bane chuckled, finding Tania’s behavior hilarious.
But I was a bit worried.
“Bane, Tania is still unaware of my true ability. She still thinks I’m wolf less.”
“I know that. But where are you heading at with this? ” She asked while I stepped into the mansion, following Tania from behind.
Feeling worried, I shared with my wolf, “How will she react when she comes to know I possess a wolf like you? Do you think she’d be scared of us?”
That question has been troubling my mind for some time now. There’s no day I don’t sit down and stare at Tania, thinking about the day she’d come to face to face with Bane.
Will she run away from me out of fear?
Suddenly, Bane cackled like a maniac, leaving me grumbling at her behavior.
“Seriously? I asked a question and the best is to laugh?”
“I’m sorry, but you sound so cute when you worry over little matters like this. I see no reason for you to be bothered. Tania is a mad woman like us. I’m sure she’d understand,” Bane believed, still laughing out loud.
Her virus infested laughter slowly got to me and I ended up chuckling. When it escaped my lips, Tania turned around, looking confused.
“Is there something you want, Luna?” She asked.
I swayed my head, telling her no. “I don’t need anything,” I said, struggling to hold my laughter back.
But still, Tania saw this.
She grinned in delight and began to giggle.
“I see what is happening. Are you laughing at…” She paused, looking left and right, before drawing nearer to me, whispering, “Beta Jerome?” She winked, giggling again.
I’ve almost forgotten about that fool that thought he could bring me down with his kindergarten plans.
Seems Tania thought I was laughing over what happened at Argon’s office.
“You did well, Luna. I’m happy you had the original with you before he could get his hands on it. You are a genius,” She praised me.
I smiled, thanking Tania for her kind words. But she’s the main hero here. If she hadn’t spotted Jerome leaving the mansion, I wouldn’t have gotten the chance to pay him a surprise visit at the company, and given Bane the opportunity to hammer his head.
Well, we didn’t get the chance to do that.
“Just one punch to that empty head of his and he’s gone. He’s lucky that he escaped,” She hissed, still grumbling over Jerome’s escape.
But she had to let him go. After all, he has included himself in a list that never had his name in the first place.
He’ll be sorry he ever joined hands with Estelle and her father to fight me.
“How about we celebrate with a drink? I call mango,” Tania suggested, leading the way to the kitchen.
I followed her from behind with a smirk across my face, admiring her loyalty towards me.
We both sat together in the kitchen for some minutes, drinking our juices and making plans.
“I made some bucks from my short term work at the company. Let’s spend it on whatever you want.”
“Really?! Awwwww! I’m blushing!!” Tania shrieked in excitement, stamping her feet on the floor, repeatedly.
I laughed at her delight, promising to get her whatever she desires.
“I did promise you sometime ago. Now you have that chance. Just name it and I’ll get it,” I offered.
Just when Tania was about to say something…
“Luna?” A familiar voice called from the entrance of the kitchen, interrupting Tania and I.
There was no need to look because I recognized the person.
“Well if it isn’t the award winning moron, Beta Jerome. I wonder why he’s here and not at the company. Could it be that his beloved Alpha threw him out? ” Bane chuckled.
She wasn’t wrong about her last statement. I could smell rage and discomfort coming from his sweaty body. Argon must have brutalized him with words he didn’t expect.
Slowly, but with pride, I turned to face Jerome, humming at his call. “What? ” I lifted my brow.
He stepped into the kitchen and came before me. His hands were playing with the other, and his head lowered down like one in shame.
He stood before me and said, going on his knees, “Forgive me for acting that way at the company. I… I don’t know what came over me.”
“Awww, you don’t know? You’re lucky I’m not the one answering you, ” Bane bemocked, mimicking Jerome.
I kept my cool, staring at this man at my feet. He lowered his head down, leaving it an inch away from my toe.
If care wasn’t taken, I would have followed my wolf’s desire and kicked his head. But I have to control my temper.
“Make his head roll.”
“There will be no rolling of heads in this kitchen. Let’s just listen to his fake apologies,” I persuaded Bane, listening to Jerome speak.
He began to act like a saint, claiming he was scared when I mentioned his name.
“You scared me when you called my name. I mean… I thought you wanted to blame me.”
“Did you hear me accusing you, Jerome? As far as I remember, I recall calling you to stand in as my witness to the document. But you acted like one who had stolen something.”
“No, I didn’t steal anything nor did I mean to offend you, Luna. Forgive me, ” He apologized, still on the ground.
This was indeed fun to watch, but not that satisfying.
“So you admit that what you were burning last night, was the copy you stole?” I questioned, dimming my eyes at him.
But Jerome denied it, claiming he was burning something else and not the document.
“You must have misunderstood what you saw. It was just a dirt from the car.”
“Hmm, I see,” I uttered, fixing my gaze at him.
Tania, who was beside me, already had her mouth drawn down in shock. She was the one who saw everything, and I know she can’t lie to me.
“Okay then, it’s fine.”
“Am I forgiven? ” He asked, rising to his feet with speed.
But I scoffed and responded, “Oh no! I won’t forgive you nor will I forgive your Alpha. You two have offended me, and that’s that. ”
He was stunned by my final words.
He won’t get that forgiveness from me.
With pride, I left the kitchen with Tania, pretending to have lost my appetite because of Jerome.
“Forgiveness my foot. Like I don’t know why he’s here.” I chuckled in mockery, stealing a glance at the frustrated Beta.
