JEROME
“Is this your so called plan?! Is this your way of getting Argon to kick Brielle out?!” Estelle yelled at me.
Somewhere in an empty room situated in the Hall, I was with Alpha Deron and Estelle, who had texted me to come down to this room, just to listen to their raging voice.
After they witnessed the horrifying moment of my Alpha presenting Brielle to the crowds as the one worthy of the award, they were furious.
Most especially Estelle.
“I am going to be the mother of his child one day! Instead of presenting me before everyone, he chose that wretch?!” Estelle sparked, pacing about in the room.
She didn’t even give me the chance to speak. Even her father did the same. He glared at me and began to express his anger towards the matter.
“When my daughter questioned you about Brielle’s sudden presence at the company as Argon’s new secretary, you claimed it was just a plan of yours to wreck her. But since then, we haven’t heard any bad news about that woman. Instead we come over to this ceremony to see Argon praising that shameless woman, instead of my daughter!”
“Alpha Deron…”
“Did you see how the people were looking at us?! Did you hear what one idiot said about my girl?!” He yelled, cutting me halfway.
Estelle was already forming sobs, as she drew closer to her father to share a gossip she heard from a group of ladies during the ceremony.
“They were asking if Argon had finally dumped me for Brielle. Father I don’t want to be dumped. I’m Argon’s baby’s mother and mate.” She weeped, hugging her father.
Deron’s raging eyes fell on me while petting his daughter. He pointed at me and said, ” I expected more from you. I thought you were going to support us in this fight. But it seems you don’t care about yourself.”
“That’s not it, Alpha Deron. I do care about myself!” I defended, trying to convince them to listen to my own side of the story.
But Deron wouldn’t give me his listening ears.
“Can’t you see you’ve become useless to your own Alpha? You are his Beta, yet he gave someone who just picked up a paper, acting like a professional, an award meant to be given to you! Isn’t this a clear picture that you are no longer needed?”
“That’s not true! ” I raised my voice at Deron, stunning the Alpha with my mood.
“Nothing like that will happen! Alpha Argon only gave Brielle that attention because he took pity on her and felt she deserves it. Just watch and see how I turn this table around. Just watch me,” I defended myself strongly, storming out of that room in rage.
“Why is everything going the wrong way? Why?!” I groaned, tightening my hand into a fist.
“I had everything planned out from the start, but that woman always escaped it. Why goddess?! What is going on?!” My fist met the wall, stamping it hard with my strength.
I had everything set for Brielle. Plans that I know she’d flop in, causing Alpha Argon to rage at her… She was able to cross it with ease.
The first assignment I made Alpha Argon give to Brielle was my first set up.
When she left the office with Alpha Argon following her from behind like her puppet, I had snuck in to take the actual folder, which had weight, indicating the papers where inside.
The plan was smooth. When she’s asked for the folder and can’t present it, that will make Alpha Argon mad to the point of yelling at her. Then I’ll zoom in like a hero and use her actual papers as mine, just to win his trust.
But what happened?
She pulls out another folder with the real papers in it! I checked and was stunned to see that the papers in the folder I stole were just plain.
That ruined it all!
Again, I tried more plans, suggesting Brielle handles more work, but still… Everything flopped!!
She was able to handle the works, escaping my plans.
“I don’t know how she was able to dodge the attack smoothly! Damn it!!” I vented, almost breaking a pillar down.
Quickly, I managed to calm my temper, panting out for air.
I ran my hands across my hair, thinking of the award ceremony. “I still can’t believe he did that before everyone. He gave his award to her. What about me? I’ve served him for long, but he has never thought about presenting me to the world as his loyal right hand man!”
This was beginning to frustrate me. But I wasn’t going to give up that easily.
With a smile, I wiped my forehead and composed myself. “It’s fine, Jerome. Everything will be fine very soon. She was just lucky, but not for long.”
.
A few days after the ceremony, more jobs came in from more clients, lifting the company’s name higher and higher.
Alpha Argon has been over the moon, to the point of giving Brielle some days off.
When we where at the conference room, having a meeting with Sir Derek and his friends, the business men presented a large project to Alpha Argon.
They want us to handle the documents for the project before we can start the main work. Alpha Argon gladly accepted the assignment, talking about Brielle’s capabilities.
“I really don’t want to stress her out with much work, but this project being so important… She’s the one I can rely on at this point, ” He said, praising her.
This annoyed me, but I held back my rage. I just watched how Sir Derek joined my Alpha, telling his partners how good Brielle really was.
So what about me? Am I a rock?
“Its best if you give it to her.”
“Yes, give it to Brielle.”
They all agreed to it, pleasing Alpha Argon, who accepted their decisions.
The file was handed to him, in which he gave to me, saying, “Keep this until we head back to the mansion. I’ll break the news to Brielle. I hope she won’t flame over it.”
He chuckled while I did the same.
“I get you, Alpha. I’ll do as you want,” I assured him, taking the file into my hold.
Since they were still talking, I exited the conference room, heading for my office.
I took one more look at the file, having a brilliant plan in mind.
“This will surely ruin her. And this time, I’m going to make sure of it, ” I believed.
