ARGON
“Yes! She agreed to it,” I rejoiced in my bedroom, making plans for Brielle.
It’s funny how I met her standing outside her room, almost like she was waiting for me. I was worried she would say no to the idea, but she didn’t.
“Hmm. Your secretary?” She had asked, lifting her brow at me.
I had to play cool and tell her the benefits of working with me, and also my reason for the plan.
She found it appealing and said Yes to me.
“Now all I need to do is get her office set. Maybe the office beside mine. I’ll send out the staff in that room and put her there. No, maybe she’ll be inside my office. Damn! What to do?!”
I paced about in my room, thinking too much about this new plan given to me by my Beta.
“He’s such a genius. This will surely bring Brielle and I closer. As… Friends… Yeah.” I smiled, feeling so excited.
Grabbing my phone, I placed a call through to someone within the company.
“Get it ready before tomorrow. I want to meet it there,” I instructed, ending the call.
“Brielle is going to love this for sure. Her own personal space.”
.
The following day, I was up like an early bed at around six.
I found Brielle eating her breakfast sluggishly at the dining room, still in her night wear.
Has she forgotten about work?
When I approached her and asked why she wasn’t set, she stared at me with her mug hanging right in her lips.
“Hmm?” She mumbled, lifting her brow in confusion.
“Work. You are starting today. Did you forget?”
She lowered the mug smd said, “You didn’t tell me that. How was I suppose to know?” Her eyes narrowed at me, as she attacked her food without any care.
I sighed and apologized for not being specific about the time. I really want her to come to work today.
“I’ll wait for you. Work starts by eight anyways.”
“Alright then,” She agreed, resuming with her meal.
I don’t know if it’s my mind that’s playing a game on me, or it’s Brielle that’s just eating slower than before.
Her movements were as slow as a sloth!
Is she doing this on purpose?
“Be patient, Argon. Don’t forget who you’re waiting for. This is Brielle, and she…”
She took a bite from her meal very slowly, while staring at me.
Now it was clear.
“She’s doing this on purpose. Silly me for forgetting who I’m waiting for. I guess we’re heading to that office late.”
And we did head to the company late.
Ten precisely.
Brielle took her sweet time to get ready for work. She wore another kind of suit, which only attracted my attention right from the mansion to the company.
I’ve been unable to stare away. All my gazes where fixed on her beauty.
When we arrived, I stopped Jerome from following us further. “Just head over to your office and get any pending work on ground. That will be a start for her,” I whispered to him, following Brielle with a swift.
“So… Where’s my office? Or will I sit with the workers?” She asked, hovering her eyes around, as we made our way into the lift.
“No, you won’t be staying with them. I have a much better place for you.”
When we got to the floor leading to my office, I opened the door to my work ground and showed Brielle her own working station.
“This is were you’ll be working from now onwards,” I said, pointing at the arrangements made at the corner.
A medium size table with a pen and… Well it was looking empty since she hasn’t started her work. But t’s a clear view from my seat to hers.
“I see. So I’m working inside your office?”
“Yep.”
“What happened to all the other rooms nearby?”
“They are filled up, ” I claimed, nodding my head.
But Brielle dimmed her eyes and pointed out, “There’s an empty room at the right, five doors away. What happened to it?”
“Wait, what?” I was stunned.
How did she know about that room?
“I saw it yesterday when you left your office to get those files.”
“You were strolling around?” My eyes came large, amused by her actions.
She smirked at me and said, walking towards her table, ” I needed to stretch. But don’t worry, I’m going to stay here and work with you… Under the same roof.”
She lingered her eyes around, before turning over to face me, sitting on her desk.
She crossed her legs in a seductive manner, causing my heart to skip at the sight of her legs.
My body shivered when her lap came exposing a bit. I had to look away, just to put myself in order.
“Working here isn’t bad. And don’t worry, I won’t frustrate you, I promise, ” She joked, chuckling out.
My face came engulfing with smiles on hearing her words. I don’t mind her behavior as long as she’s here with me.
KNOCK! KNOCK!! Brielle and I directed our attention to the door, just to see it swinging wide open.
Jerome stepped in with the files I requested for, asking for Brielle’s office. But he was suddenly astonished to find her in my own office.
“Is she… I mean…” He stammered.
“Yes, she’ll be staying with me. I still need to put her through some things before getting her a better room,” I said, sliding both hands into my pocket.
Jerome was still surprised. He glanced his eyes from my point to Brielle’s, before letting out a smile, agreeing to my decision.
“That’s good then. Um… Here are the files sir.”
“Good. Please place them on my desk. Brielle and I will go through it.” I gestured to the table for Jerome to approach.
He walked up to it and placed the files down. Then surprisingly, he welcomed Brielle to the company, offering to assist her in anyway possible.
“My office is easy to locate.” He grinned at her.
He’s amazing.
“I’ll keep that in mind. Thank you,” She appreciated.
Jerome soon left the office for Brielle and I. With the files finally here, I got Brielle to sit with me, as we went through the documents, silently.
An hour into the work, Brielle has already gotten the hang of it. She took control of the remaining documents, allowing her skills to kick in perfectly.
I was so pleased by this, that I couldn’t look away.
We were done with that work in no time, and I ended up running out of ideas.
“Anything else? ” Brielle had asked.
“Yes, there’s… One more work.”
Quickly, I took an excuse out of the office and rushed down to Jerome’s, seeking for more ideas to keep Brielle engaged.
“I don’t know what else to do. I mean… This is the same work I always give to you, and I know what assignments to hand out. But in Brielle’s case… Shit!” I panicked before my Beta.
Jerome chuckled at my behavior and suggested that I give Brielle an assignment.
“Since she’s good in her work, how about you give her J and B’s file? Let her sort those out and submit before the week ends, ” He suggested.
And I fell in love with that idea. That way, Brielle won’t think I hired her for something secretive.
“Good idea. I’ll give her that task. Maybe on Saturday she’ll deliver the job.”
“Exactly.”
“Thanks Jerome. You’re a lifesaver,” I appreciated, rushing back to my office to meet Brielle.
“This is just her first day as my secretary. I hope she doesn’t change her mind along the way? ” I hoped.
