ARGON
“No, this can’t be true. This is a lie,” I said, refusing to accept this nonsense report.
But Estelle and Alpha Deron kept saying it was the real deal.
“That’s the truth, Argon. My daughter is expecting your baby. Isn’t this a good news?”
“NO!” I roared, shocking everyone around me, including these crooks that think they can just step back into my life after everything.
In rage, I squeezed the report and threw it right at Estelle, refusing their rubbish claim. “I will not accept this lies! Pregnant? Who? You must be joking if you think I’d believe this game you both plotted out. I am not a fool!” I yelled, standing my ground.
The report had met Estelle’s face. She had to shield herself from it, swaying her head at my words.
“Argon, this is no game. It’s the truth. I’m indeed pregnant.”
“SHUT UP!” I roared, causing Estelle to shiver before me.
“Argon, mind the way you talk to the mother of your child!”
“The same goes to you as well, old man. Shut up!” I fired at Deron, shocking him.
“You think I don’t know what is going on here? After seeing how successful I’ve become, you now decided to use this fake report to find your way back into my life? Oh, how foolish do you think I am? ” I scoffed, swaying my head at their stupidity.
Alpha Deron, who wasn’t pleased with the way I disrespected him, tried to convince me.
“Your anger is justified, Argon, but you can’t deny the child in my daughter’s womb. You are the father and the only man who has ever made love to her. ”
“What a great speech, Alpha Deron.” I clapped, applauding his wonderful words and support for his daughter.
“You are indeed a father to your daughter. Your anger is justified. You are the father to the empty stomach… What else do you want to say to me? ” I mocked, mimicking his voice.
Deron tightened his hand into a fist but came all calm because of his daughter.
Again, he repeated his words, calling me the father to Estelle’s fake pregnancy, and out of anger…
“ENOUGH!” I roared, silencing him right in his spot.
“I don’t want to hear this rubbish ever again! I know your daughter isn’t pregnant because she’s a bloody liar!”
“Argon!”
“Don’t call my name, ever again!” I sparked at Estelle, shunning her.
She gazed at me with tears in her eyes, clinging to her father for support.
Alpha Deron patted his daughter like a little girl, saying to me with bitterness in his voice, “This is unfair of you, Argon. How can you be treating the woman you love so much like this? ”
“Don’t let me hear that word from you ever again. Don’t you ever!” I warned him, reminding him of his betrayal and how they both stabbed me at the back in my darkest hour.
“All ties were cut that very day you kicked me out of your home, and I will not allow it to be rekindled with your lies. Now, take that lying pit you call a daughter and leave before I get the guards to throw you out myself.”
“Argon! You can’t throw me out,” He groaned at this, refusing to leave.
Estelle also stood her ground, rejecting my order. “As long as I’m carrying your child, you can not send us away, Argon. Your baby needs you.”
“GUARDS! THROW THEM OUT! ” I ordered immediately, ignoring their words.
My guards came quickly and grabbed both Deron and Estelle. They were struggling with the guards, refusing to leave my home.
“Argon! Argon, don’t do this!” Estelle cried out, fighting with them.
Just when I thought I’d get my peace at last…
“Alpha stop!” A familiar voice roared out to me from the entrance.
I looked and saw my beta stepping into the mansion with some papers in his hold.
What is he doing here by this time?
Is he done for the day already?
“Estelle isn’t lying to you. ”
“What?” I was stunned to hear this from Jerome. What does he mean by that?
“She’s indeed pregnant with your baby, ” He confirmed, showing me the papers in his hold.
They were medical reports from Doctor Nicole. She had taken some tests on Jerome’s behalf, to confirm if Estelle was telling the truth or not.
“I know you instructed me to block their lines, but when Alpha Deron shared the news about Estelle’s pregnancy, I decided to make my findings immediately,” Jerome shared.
He was busy talking and failed to see how horrified I was to learn about this troubling news.
“She’s really pregnant with my child?” I gazed at the report which had Doctor Nicole’s signature.
“I wanted to make sure all these was cleared so you won’t be troubled in the future, but Doctor Nicole confirmed the test to be positive. Estelle is indeed pregnant with your child.”
“No, I… It can’t be possible,” I refused to accept it, tossing the papers to the ground.
I lifted my eyes at Estelle and her father. They were both looking pleased, repeating what they had said earlier.
“I know I’ve done so many bad things in the past, my love. But I can’t lie about this bundle of joy growing inside of me. ” She chuckled with passion, caressing her tummy in my front.
“We’re going to be parents. You’re going to have an heir, ” She said, stepping forward.
But all these didn’t make sense to me. How did I make this mistake?
I know Estelle and I always sleep with each other. We even made it our hobby. But Estelle was always on birth control pills and promised to stop taking it when we get married.
So, if she’s pregnant, that means she didn’t take the pills the last time we made love. She wanted this to happen.
“Argon, let bygones be bygones. Please, don’t ignore your child. It needs your love, ” She said, standing before me.
I stared at her as she smiled back, making an attempt to hold my hands so I’d feel her stomach.
But on thinking about the horrible treatment they served me…
“Get out!” I ordered, slamming her hands away from my point.
Estelle shivered at my action, trying to get me to heat her out. But I was in no mood to listen or believe that she was carrying my child.
“Leave this instant! Guards!!” I snapped, signaling the guards to throw them out at once.
Jerome tried to stop me by bringing the child in, but that only made me mad.
“I told you to block their lines, but you went against me Jerome. Don’t expect me to listen to whatever you say!” I vented at my Beta, who was stunned by my words.
The guards grabbed both Alpha Deron and Estelle, all set to throw them out of the mansion when suddenly…
“Leave them alone!” Someone sparked from behind.
My heart skipped when I recognized that voice. I immediately turned around and saw Brielle standing close to the servants, staring at me with disappointment.
“Brielle.” My heart sank in fear, wondering if she listened to the whole garbage dumped by Estelle and her father.
“What do you think you’re doing, Argon? She said she’s carrying your child and you want to throw her out?” She questioned, drawing closer to me.
“Brielle… Don’t believe a thing she says. She’s… She’s lying,” I stammered, finding it hard to control the troubling feeling I was getting.
I thought I could keep Brielle off this matter, but she heard it all.
“And what makes you think she’s lying, Argon? She’s the same woman you always sleep with before and after you divorced me. If she says she’s pregnant, then she’s pregnant.”
“Brielle, don’t believe her words. She’s only using that to fool me so I’d take her back. Do you know what they did to me?!”
“Yes, I know. They abandoned you in your time of need. They left you to suffer all alone. That’s why you have such detest towards them, ” She answered emotionlessly, staring straight into my eyes.
My body wobbled before Brielle. So she knew about Estelle and her father’s action, and yet she didn’t say anything?
“Even if you don’t want to believe what she had said, your beta clearly told you the truth. He made his findings and discovered she’s indeed pregnant with your baby. Why don’t you want to accept it?” She questioned, lifting her brow.
I wanted to speak up, but it was hard to tell her my reason. I don’t care if that child is mine or not, I just don’t want it to ruin my chance with Brielle.
With all that had happened, I have a feeling that the heavens is finally giving me a sign to be with her. But Estelle has ruined it with her nonsense, claiming she’s pregnant for me?
“Brielle, I… I just can’t accept this.”
“Is that so? ” She widened her eyes, crossing her arms at me.
“So after all the fun you two were having, you can’t accept the final product of your work? Is that what you’re saying, Argon?” She dimmed her eyes, questioning me harder.
And from the looks of things, it was clear that Brielle was siding with Estelle instead of me!
“Alright then. If you aren’t satisfied with this news, why don’t you carry Estelle all around to see the best doctors. Let them run some tests with you two and confirm if she’s lying or not. That’s the only way you can get your answer. Is that clear?” She suggested, waiting for my response.
I couldn’t counter Brielle’s words even if I wanted to. Her voice had a stronger hold on me.
Having no choice, I nodded at Brielle, agreeing to her plans.
“Better. You can leave with them and start your check up, instead of sending them out like stray dogs, ” She said, turning her back at me and heading for the stairs.
I gazed at Brielle from behind, upset with her suggestion. I don’t want to prove anything nor do I want to accept that Estelle is indeed pregnant for me.
I don’t want to do any of it!
“Alpha, ” Jerome called, standing right next to him.
My body came engulfing with anger, as I dropped my gaze at my beta, still mad with him for going against my order. He noticed my mood and decided to stand back.
Turning around, I walked up to Estelle and grabbed her by the arm. She gasped out at my grip and asked, “What are you doing? ”
“We are going to run some tests and see if truly you’re pregnant or just lying to get back into my life,” I said, pulling her out of the mansion.
Alpha Deron had wanted to come along, but I threatened to kick Estelle out for good, if he doesn’t stay back.
He had no choice but to agree.
I pushed Estelle into my car and drove her down to the hospital. When Doctor Nicole saw us, she rolled her eyes at me and spoke about the report she gave to Jerome.
“Didn’t you get the test result from your Beta?”
“I did, but I won’t accept it,” I said, pushing Estelle closer to her.
“Run another test on her, right in front of me. If a DNA sample can be conducted as well, please do so. I want to see everything with my own eyes.”
Doctor Nicole didn’t like my decision, but she didn’t object at all. She took all necessary samples from both Estelle and I, and stepped into the lab with me following from behind.
The process lasted for three good hours, until she came out with the final result and said, handing it over to me, ” Like the first test Alpha, she’s pregnant. And the baby belongs to you.”
I gazed at the result in shock, unable to accept this. I swayed my head, refusing to agree with the doctor.
Dissatisfied, I dragged Estelle to a different hospital, and the feedback was the same.
We went to three other hospitals and all of them gave the same answer.
Estelle is indeed pregnant with my baby.
Dammit! Why now?!
“Are you satisfied, Argon?” Estelle questioned, glaring at me.
“Did you get your answer?”
I couldn’t utter a word. I was filled with bitterness.
“Just take me back home. I am tired of your drama. I can’t stand this unnecessary hatred towards our baby. You were the one who said you wanted us to have a child. I finally gave you what you wanted and now you feel the child isn’t yours?” She sniffed, sobbing in her seat.
Her tears or words didn’t matter to me. I was more concerned about Brielle’s take on this.
How will she react when she hears the truth?
