CHAPTER 67

ARGON
Thanks to Estelle’s stupidity outside the company, many have gone online to question our relationship and even call me names.
I was so mad when I read some of the comments concerning the live drama Estelle pulled outside before her fake passing out. It was so annoying to read.
Even the press made it worst by making it sound like a romantic mishap taking place, adding more spices to the matter.
“Damn her!” I groaned, tossing my phone to the other side of my seat.
I was in the backseat of my car, heading back to the mansion. The scenario at the company pushed me to leave at once.
I didn’t want anyone coming over to look for me, especially Alpha Deron. I bet he saw his daughter fainting on live TV and he wants to get me to check up on her.
“It’s all part of their scheme. Both father and daughter are together in this nonsense. ” I was so mad. I needed to do something to free myself from all these problems.
Jerome didn’t leave the company with me. I had to tell him to stay behind while I left that place, just to avoid any more drama from occurring.
And most importantly, being at the mansion and protecting it from those annoying press was also important.
RING! RING!! I heard my phone buzzing from the other side of the seat. I looked at it and saw Jerome’s name on the screen.
“I hope all is well?” My hand came stretching, taking hold of the phone at once.
When I answered his call, my beta began to talk about Estelle and Alpha Deron. “He called requesting for your presence at the hospital.”
“I am not going anywhere. That man is out of his freaking mind if he thinks I’d stupidly go over there to see him and his daughter. I am not a fool, ” I sparked, showing my refusal.
But Jerome was beginning to sound worried, telling me what Alpha Deron had said. “He said it’s important for you to be there.”
I scoffed out and told Jerome to do the needful. “Block their lines. I don’t want to hear you talked to them any more. Those people have been handling things by themselves when I had nothing, so they can still do it. Block their lines now!” I ordered Jerome.
He sighed from his end and agreed to do so. “I will, Alpha.”
“Better. Once you’re done from there, return back to the mansion.”
“Yes sir, ” Jerome said.
I ended the call, placing my phone into my pocket. That’s when I noticed the mansion coming into view.
“Finally I can rest and also be with Brielle. I hope she hasn’t seen the news. It would be best if she doesn’t,” I sighed, rubbing my forehead.
The moment the car came stopping at the front of my home, I came out quickly and went into the mansion.
There was no need to ask a maid if anyone had seen Brielle, because I saw her heading for the dining with her meal.
This was actually a good time to catch up with her than thinking about Estelle and her father.
Quickly, I ordered a maid to bring my meal to the dining room, while I made my way to there, thinking of any interesting topic to discuss with Brielle.
You know… Something to brighten the atmosphere.
Upon stepping into the dining room, I met Brielle eating all by herself. Tania wasn’t there to keep her company like always. She was just by herself, eating quietly.
I made my presence known by clearing my throat, and that got Brielle’s attention. She directed her attention at my point and stared at me in surprise.
“You’re back already?” She asked, putting a pause to her meal.
I smiled at Brielle and said, while drawing nearer to her, “Yeah, I didn’t have much work doing. It was just a meeting that took me to the company, but I’m home.”
“Hmm. Okay,” She said, dropping her attention back on the food.
I took a seat opposite Brielle, still thinking of a topic to discuss with her. That’s when the maid showed up with my meal, placing it before me. And the moment Brielle saw this, she got to her feet with her food in her hold.
“I didn’t know you were planning to eat. I’ll be in my room, ” She said, all set to leave.
“Why? Sit down and eat. I’m not chasing you away, ” I immediately stopped her, finding this behavior of hers unpleasant.
Only for Brielle to dim her eyes at me, reminding me of my orders in the past. “Really? You want me to sit with you? I thought you told me to never eat in the same place with you? That’s the order I’ve been following for long.”
“No, there’s no need for that. That… All that is in the past. Please, sit down,” I requested, pointing at her seat.
Brielle hesitated at first, glancing at the door then at me. After what felt like an eternity, she finally agreed to sit with me.
I was relieved.
Even though she acts rude towards me, she still sticks to old rules I made in the past. I need to change a lot of things around us.
Once we were alone, a topic finally came to mind, and I used that opportunity to brighten the mood between Brielle and I.
“I didn’t know you had a lot of knowledge about the business world. If that incident hadn’t occurred, you wouldn’t have shown it,” I started.
Brielle looked at me and gave a smirk, leaving my heart glowing in my spot.
I could feel my legs shaking in excitement, as I went on to ask how she learnt it, requesting her to tell me.
Brielle’s face came flushing as she tried to avoid the question, but it only got me interested more and more.
“Come on, just tell me. I’m just impressed and curious.”
“Is that so?” She asked, lifting her brow at me.
Her attitude left a spark in my heart, drawing me nearer with a smirk across my face. “Yeah. I really want to know,” I said.
And Brielle didn’t object any further. She agreed to share the details, revealing how she learnt the things of the business world.
“I learnt it from your father. Whenever you where out on a business trip or at the company, he’d call me close and explain some things to me. Then I found it confusing, but I understand a few things from his teaching.”
She kept on talking and I just listened with admiration for her. I know I was listening, but my full attention wasn’t there.
Brielle looks so gorgeous while talking with a smile across her face. All these things I failed to see because of my past with Estelle.
But now… I wish to explore a lot of things about Brielle.
Maybe, just maybe we can make things work between us. I feel so much better with Brielle around. She brings peace to my soul.
We both talked about the company and other things relating to business, until…
“Alpha,” A guard stepped into the dining room, interrupting us.
I was mad at this attitude and wanted to spark at this fellow, when he suddenly said, “Alpha Deron and his daughter are here.”
“Here?!” Shocked, I got to my feet immediately, feeling my anger engulfing my body.
“Why are they here? Didn’t I order you all to keep them off?! Damn it! ” I sparked, storming out to face those two.
I was still raging out, walking into the open Hall of my home to find Estelle and her father at the door, looking at me with pitiful gaze.
Their presence irritated me even more, that I snapped my fingers at the guards ordering them to take out the trash.
“Argon, my love. Please, wait and listen.”
“Get out of my home! I don’t want to have anything to do with you, ever again!” I yelled at Estelle, shunning her.
Alpha Deron chipped in, pleading with me to listen to them. “We know we’ve hurt you deeply my son, but please try to listen and find it in your heart to forgive us, ” He begged, joining both palms together.
Just listen to this man. I should forgive them? “Where you deaf, Alpha Deron? Didn’t your precious daughter tell you that I’ve rejected her? We are no longer together and we’ll never be!”
“That’s what you think,” Estelle said, glaring at me.
All of a sudden, she pulled out a report, rolled it into a ball and threw it right at me.
It came falling down at my feet, leaving me wondering what this woman have brought.
“Go through that report and tell me if you still plan on pushing me away. Check it, Argon,” She said, pointing at it.
Why this sudden fire? Of course it’s how she acts when she wants to get things done her way.
I lowered down and got this ball of a report, opening it up to read what was inside. And the moment I did…
“What?! ” I was shocked.
“It can’t be. This can’t be true.”
“Have you seen it, Argon?” I heard Estelle’s voice. I lifted my eyes to meet them wet, as she smiled at me and said, “You’re going to be a father very soon, Argon. I’m carrying your baby. Our first child.”
My servants gasped at this shocking news from Estelle. But they weren’t as horrified as I was.
I never expected this.
“My son, you’re going to be a father and I, a grandfather. Aren’t you happy?” Alpha Deron chuckled, pulling Estelle closely.
This felt like a nightmare to me. It can’t be true!
Pregnant?
