ARGON
How could I have been so blinded to this? I should have been more cautious of my surroundings.
I was back at the factory with my workers, thinking about my client and his decision to end his deal with me.
I didn’t just get abandoned by my client, but got something that I never expected.
When I stood my ground, making my client see reasons why he shouldn’t make such decision about my service, he furiously roared and ordered me out of his office.
“The appointed date was supposed to be Sunday, but today is Friday. At least I brought it early.”
“But you called and gave me false hope that I’d be getting my goods today. So, this is your own problem.”
“But…”
“IT’S OVER!” was the final word he gave, pointing at his door for me to leave.
With all the load on my head and troubles I was going to face if I don’t sell these goods to him, I almost went on my knees to beg my client, but he stood on his words.
He became hard as rock.
My whole body had shivered at his decision. I could see my whole world falling before my eyes.
“If you don’t want me to disgrace you, it would be best if you leave on your own, ” He had said, grabbing his phone to call the security guards.
This felt so embarrassing. Someone who has worked with me for so long, suddenly abandoned me after all the stress I went through just for him.
I was shattered.
I had left his office to break the horrible news to my beta, when I realized that I forgot the truck key on my client’s table.
On returning back to get it, I overheard my client talking to someone on the phone. Not just anyone… It was Damien!
“You were right about him, King Damien. He’s now a useless man. Just look at him! You should have seen his sad face when I rejected the goods.”
“I told you he has lost his touch. That’s why his partners abandoned him and came to work with me. This is why I told you to bring your order to me so I can make it better, but you gave that hopeless wolf, who no longer has a dime to stand on his two feet,” Damien bad mouthed me to my client.
I was shocked.
He labelled me as bad business, successfully winning my client over to his side.
“I’m glad I rejected him. It’s finally over between us. Who knows what he used in making those materials. The order is now in your hands, King Damien. Thank you for saving me from a big loss.”
“Happy to help.”
I heard it all, realizing that Damien has been instigating my client behind my back. Not just that, but the goods…
I didn’t know he was after the order as well.
Since the time I got my key and got back to the factory with Jerome, I sent my Beta out on a quick mission with two of my guards, while I patiently waited for his feedback.
“Just the man I’ve been waiting for, ” I said on seeing Jerome stepping into my office, here at the factory.
“What did you find?” I asked, drawing closer to him.
He pulled out a zip lock, which had that wooden nail from the accident, another one, and a piece of fabric.
“This was found close to the accident ground. While the trucks were being tolled away, we began our search around that area and found this cloth on a twig. And it’s not just that,” He said, opening the bag for me to have a sniff.
And when I did, I picked up a very familiar odor thay every werewolf recognizes
“Lycan? ” My eyes grew large at this discovery.
“And it’s the same with this death trap that caused the accident, ” He pointed out, indicating the second wooden nail.
Knowing the scent belongs to a Lycan, only one animal came to my mind.
“Damien! That bastard!” I roared out.
“Its clear that a Lycan was present at that scent. The scent was a bit strong, due to the period the culprit has been there, ” Jerome explained, closing the bag.
I was furious.
“He sabotaged my effort for his own gain! I won’t spare that animal! I won’t,” I vented loudly, storming out of the office.
Jerome called out to me to stop, but I was so mad to even listen to him. Instead, I got into my car and left the premises, driving down to that mad man’s pack.
“I’ll kill him. I swear I’ll end him!”
I drove with speed, almost causing several accidents on the highway with my speed. My whole mind was focused on that Lycan, who thinks he can do whatever he likes and get away with it.
After driving for long, I finally arrived at Damien’s mansion. The idiot was already standing outside of his home, almost like he was waiting for me to come.
I stormed out of my car, marching towards him.
“Ah, if it isn’t Argon, the fallen Alpha. What brings you to my humble domain?” He chuckled out mockingly.
I got closer to Damien with full speed and grabbed him by the collar, slamming his back against the pillar outside his mansion.
“You Bastard! ” I roared, shimmering my wolf eyes in anger at him.
His guards almost came to drag me off, but Damien signalled them to stop, showing no fear.
“I know you are the one who caused that accident! You did that to ruin my work!”
“And what prove do you have, almighty Argon?” He questioned, smirking at me.
I was fuming at his words, ready to make him a laughing stock by mentioning the items we found, but…
“You think a piece of cloth and that nail board can do anything, huh?”
Wait, How did he know about that?
That’s when his eyes glowed blue, saying to me, “I have eyes, Argon. Those nonsense objects can’t do anything to me. I am a king after all.” He chuckled.
“There are so many Lycan’s in this pack. Will the authorities believe you over those pieces of garbage you call prove? How sad.”
He cackled at me, getting his guards to laugh along.
I hovered my eyes around to see the number had increased. Even if I want to beat this animal into nothing, his guards may come at me at once.
One werewolf against a large number of Lycans is a bad sign. I may leave this place in a terrible state.
“Your reign is over Argon.” Damien pulled my hands off his collar boldly, staring at me with no fear.
“Soon, you will fall flat to the ground and everyone will forget that a man named Argon ever existed. How sad it would be for your poor father, who entrusted his whole effort into your slimy hands, to look down upon his foolish son and weep to the heavens for a help,” He scoffed, walking towards the entrance of his home.
“Who knows, I may be the help your late father needs,” Damien said with confidence, annoying me even more.
“Maybe I would even take over your company, and then your home. After all…” He turned over to face me with a nasty smirk across his face. “Wolf Crest needs a better leader. If I step in and showcase my skills, your councils will have no choice but to crown me ruler. And even your Ex-wife would fall for me.”
“SHUT IT!” I sparked, growling at Damien’s words.
He kept laughing, before waving goodbye at me, entering his home. Then his guards ordered me to leave at once, threatening to make me regret my coming.
“Leave now, wolf, ” They had said, shimmering their eyes at me.
I was furious by this. Handling them wouldn’t have been an issue, if their number wasn’t this large and their aura wasn’t giving a foul and troubling scent.
I took one more look at Damien’s mansion, vowing in my heart to never give up.
“I won’t allow you to take over my pack. Never!”
In anger, I stormed back into my car and drove off.
