BRIELLE
These few days have been great for me.
Even though I was still carrying out some works given by both Estelle and Argon, I didn’t mind or feel like I was being treated unfairly, most especially by Estelle.
She has been trying to weaken my spirit by giving me a lot of works and insulting me also, but when my mind go to Argon, I can’t help but feel my heart glow.
“Did you see his face when I brought his suit to him this morning?” I asked Bane, washing the dishes in the sink, in preparation for the after party Estelle made arrangements for.
“He smiled at me and said thank you. Argon hardly appreciates anything I do for him. He said thank you today.” I blushed with joy, recalling how he smiled with a flash in his eyes.
Our hands had touched when he was taking the suit from my hold. That got my whole body shivering, feeling the love I had for him, buried within, blooming all over again.
“We even touched hands.”
“Gross! Think of something else aside from that madman.” Bane almost puked at my words, showing her detest in it.
“Your staying back here isn’t to revive your failed marriage. You are on a mission, Brielle. So, focus and do everything possible to speed up this process. I want to see good results,” Bane said harshly.
Her words felt like an arrow, but she was right.
What am I doing?
Why am I giving myself such hope for a man that doesn’t care about me or about the innocent child he killed?
Argon has chosen Estelle to be his mate. He already signed the divorce papers, waiting for me to do the same.
“You’re right, Bane. I need to focus on what is important.”
“Hush, the witch is coming,” Bane silenced me, notifying me of someone’s presence in the kitchen.
As I resumed with the washing, I felt the strong sense of a wolf right behind me.
The scent coming from this creature gave me the identity of who it was.
“What is taking you so long to clean all these dishes?” Estelle questioned, standing by my side.
I answered, taking another dirty dish into the soapy water, “The dishes are much. I’m trying my best to speed up.”
“I’m trying my best to speed up. Lies, ” Estelle mimicked, laughing at me.
“You’re not trying any silly best, Brielle. You are waiting for my Argon to return, so he’d come in here and see you working. I know your little game, and I’m not stupid,” She said, chuckling.
What she said got me pausing, with my eyes falling on her.
Is she serious right now? Accusing me of purposely delaying my work?
Can’t she see the number of dishes she left for me to attend to?
“What game are you talking about?” I questioned, lifting my brow at her.
With a frown across her face, Estelle poked me hard against the chest, accusing me further.
“You brat. You think you can seduce my Argon with your sympathy and nonsense drama? Well sorry, Brielle. You can’t have him, because he’s mine alone.”
She grinned at me, stepping away from my point.
I stared at her, wondering why she was like this.
Oh yeah, I forgot. Just like Bane identified, a witch, that’s what she is.
It explains her behavior.
I wanted to get back to my work, but Estelle wasn’t ready to let me be. She kept accusing me of trying to sway Argon to my side, when I hardly raise a finger to do anything.
Bane, who was listening to all these, had already gathered more than ten comebacks for Estelle.
“Switch with me, let me handle this she-goat with no brain. She needs someone to guide her to the asylum.”
“Bane, no. You won’t just insult her but get us in trouble. Let her have her say. It won’t be our last after all, ” I stopped my wolf from trying to switch places with me.
I know what Bane would do, and I don’t want it.
Not now.
Just as Estelle was talking, someone’s voice suddenly left me trembling.
“BRIELLE!”
“Alpha Argon?” I uttered, looking at the entrance of the kitchen, scared over the tone.
What’s with the roar?
Estelle was stunned to hear Argon’s voice. She immediately rushed out to find out what was wrong.
Since I was the one being called, I also rushed out of the kitchen to find out what was happening.
“Why did he call you like that? ” Bane asked, causing my heart to best with a sudden discomfort and fear.
I hope all is well.
Quickly, I came rushing into the open hallway, which was decorated for the after party, only to see Argon matching towards Estelle and I.
His face… It was filled with rage!
“Argon, what happened?” Estelle asked, standing before him.
But to my surprise, he pushed Estelle aside, approaching my way.
After seeing this, I felt a strong wave of heat circulating my body.
That’s when Bane said in a worried tone, “Something is wrong, Brielle. Something has… ”
SLAM! My face came turning to the side, with my eues coming large in shock.
Argon, he slapped me hard with his back hand.
I was bewildered.
“How dare you?!” He roared at me, grabbing my arm and pulling me closer.
My eyes came locking with his red raging gaze, as he shook me profusely, calling me all sorts of names.
“Fool! You worthless, useless, animal! Was this your plan all along?! You acted like you cared about my happiness and tried to shame me before the whole world?!” He yelled, tossing me to the ground with his strength.
I fell hard to the tiles, shivering at Argon’s wrath.
What is he talking about?
“My love, what did she do?” Estelle asked, standing beside Argon.
That’s when he snapped his finger and his Beta came closer to him.
There was a box in his hold, In which Argon grabbed from him and faced me.
“Here’s the suit you claimed you attended to, ” He said, throwing the box directly at me.
I immediately shielded my face, feeling the box landing on my lap. When I lowered my arm to look at it, I was stunned.
“Wait, isn’t this the same suit I…” I paused, staring at a melted suit inside the box.
I lifted my eyes to look at Argon, wondering how the suit I cleaned up for him was inside a box, melted like wax.
When I looked closely at his body, I realized he was wearing a different suit, but a navy blue.
“I don’t understand. What did I do?” I asked, trying to understand what he was accusing me of.
On hearing my question, Argon came out laughing, clapping his hands at me.
“Waw! What a show. You really know how to act, Brielle.”
“Act? I don’t understand.”
“Stop pretending like you don’t know what you did! ” He raised his voice, silencing me.
His roars attracted the attentions of the other servants, who came out to know what was happening.
At the corner stood Tania, who looked scared to see me on the floor, trembling.
“You better stop lying and come clean, Brielle. You couldn’t stand the fact that I love Estelle and want to make her my Luna, that’s why you soaked my suit in chemical to shame me before thousands of people!”
“What?! Chemical?! What chemical?” I gapsed at this accusation being laid on me.
Estelle and every other person gasped on hearing this, dropping their eyes on the box then at me.
“You wretch! You soaked my Alpha’s suit in chemical?”
“I didn’t do anything, I swear, ” I defended, swaying my head.
But Argon yelled at me, pointing at the melted suit in the box.
“Then explain this. My suit began melting on stage because of the chemical you used on it, and you’re here lying to my face when you were the one who had the suit in your care!” He glared, darting his eyes at me.
But I didn’t use any chemical to wash his clothes.
If I didn’t, then who did?
