ARGON
“She will handle the suit herself. After all, she made a promise to my late father that she would do everything in her power to make me happy. Isn’t that right, Brielle?” I dropped my gaze on her, lifting my brow.
Brielle stared back at me, slowly nodding her head. “Yes, that’s right,” She confirmed, looking at the msid Estelle had called.
“So, you will wash and straighten my suit. I want to look good on the day of my award ceremony,” I said, signaling the maid to hand the suit over to Brielle.
As the maid was handing the suit over to her, my eyes came navigating to Estelle’s point.
She was staring at me with anger, glancing from my side to Brielle’s.
She tightened her fist, trying to hold back her anger.
I saw this coming already. I’ll handle it after this is solved.
“I will attend to this once I’m done with the cleaning,” Brielle promised, seeking for permission to leave.
I granted it to her and she left with her companion.
The other maid also left to resume with her work, leaving Estelle and I behind.
Immediately we were alone…
“What the hell, Argon?!” Estelle yelled, tossing the rest of the suits to the ground.
“Estelle.”
“Don’t call me!” She lashed, glaring at me. Her wolf eyes glowed at me, showing her rage towards my decision.
“What is it with you and Brielle?”
“What do you mean by that? ” I dimmed my eyes, finding her question disturbing.
“Why do you always side with her like she’s more important than me? ”
“Excuse me? ” I was amused by Estelle’s allegations.
She began to bring up the matter that occurred in the bedroom in the morning, the argument when Brielle was ill, and this.
“I don’t understand you any more. It’s almost as if you’re… You’re developing a soft spot for that woman.”
“Stop saying such things! ” I rose to my feet to face Estelle, grabbing her arm next.
She grumbled in my hold, trying to push me off. But I didn’t allow her.
“Just because I’ve been backing with somethings she does, doesn’t mean I have a soft spot for her. I have no affection for that worthless woman.”
“Then why did you give her your suit?” Estelle threw at me.
I wanted to speak but my words got stuck in my throat.
If I tell her that I only gave Brielle the suit since she has been doing it before and I feel she would take care of it more than the others, Estelle would assume I’m having a space for Brielle in my heart.
But I’m not.
I hate her so much for ruining those years by being my Luna. Estelle should have been my Luna, but father chose Brielle.
“I only added it to her work so she won’t have rest,” I claimed, hiding the real truth from Estelle.
“You have been giving her different tasks to handle. Now I want to do the same thing and you feel I’m making a room for her in my heart? Is that how much you trust me?” I questioned, turning the tables.
Estelle’s anger faded. It was immediately replaced with guilt.
“Argon, it’s not what you think. I… I just don’t like seeing her around you or doing something that relates with you. It disturbs me, ” She confessed, expressing her jealousy.
And it bloomed my heart.
“Estelle,” I chuckled, pulling her into my hold. She immediately wrapped her arms around me, cuddling in my embrace.
“You don’t have to be worried. She can’t make a room for herself in my heart when I have you. You are the one I love, only you,” I promised, kissing her forehead.
Estelle came calm, promising to take Brielle out of her mind and focus on us instead.
“I won’t allow her to ruin our mood. It’s a happy occasion. My sweet heart is going to be awarded before everyone,” Estelle cheered.
I was finally relieved when she switched from her angry mode to her beautiful smiles.
She looked more gorgeous than when she’s mad. It doesn’t fit her.
With that settled, Estelle and I decided to make other plans for that day, planning an after party.
She took it upon herself to handle the after party, since she’s my Luna.
How could I say no to that?
She’s my everything.
.
Finally, the D day was here.
I got ready for the celebration, checking out my suit in the mirror.
Just like Brielle had said the other day, the suit adjusts to my size unlike the suits from Zimbi’s.
Thinking of that day and how boldly she spoke, left a sudden smirk across my face.
I don’t know why, but in this few days, Brielle’s presence has been leaving a strange aura around me.
Whenever she serves or carries out any work given to her by Estelle or by me, there’s some kind of feeling I get just watching her work.
She looks more attractive, unlike before.
And I find myself drawn to her new side.
“She did well with the suit, ” I commented, checking myself in the mirror.
I was impressed with the way she straightened it before bringing it in. I knew giving her would be the best thing.
If I had suggested the maids, they might leave the suit rough, instead of attending to it with care.
But giving someone like Brielle, who still has feelings for me, was much better. She will make sure nothing happens to the suit, and she did.
This is why I stood on my ground when Estelle got mad.
KNOCK! KNOCK!!
“Alpha, it’s time, ” I heard my Beta’s voice from outside.
Adjusting my tie, I grabbed my phone and made my way out of the room, following my Beta as we both made our way down the stairs.
At the entrance of the mansion, stood my beautiful Estelle, all dressed in a pretty red flowing gown.
She gave me a quick peck to the cheek, wishing me well.
“You’re going to rock that ceremony,” She said, cupping my face.
I smiled, thanking her for her sweet words.
It would have been lovely if Estelle came along with me, but I don’t want anyone to start throwing questions when they see us together.
When the right time comes, I’ll show the whole world she’s my queen.
“I’ll get the after party set. I’ll also watch the ceremony from here,” She said, chuckling.
With a quick embrace, Jerome and I hurried out of the mansion and into my car, making our move.
Just as the car was exiting the premises, my eyes caught sight of Brielle in the garden.
She was busy attending to the flowers with smiles across her face. She didn’t even see me leaving.
I found myself gazing at her, until the car drove off, breaking the lock I had on Brielle.
With an image of her at the garden still in my head, I felt a sudden glow across my face.
It was a smile.
A big one.
It felt weird to me, but I was fine with it.
“Maybe it’s a sign from the goddess that my day will go superb.” I believed, since I’ve been in a good mood.
.
Arriving at the ceremony, I was welcomed in with respect.
Other business men and ladies, as well as Alphas from their packs, were present at the ceremony.
There were cameras around, filming the program live for the world to see. And this way, my Estelle can watch me receiving my award.
Even my pack council members were present. The four old and wise wolves of Wolf Crest, attended the ceremony to congratulate their Alpha.
The sight of these oldies took my mind to my plans for Estelle and I. Hoping I can get them to side with me in my plans to Wed Estelle.
I need to get their blessings.
When they came before me, my Beta and I greeted them with respect, showing our happiness in seeing them.
“You have done well, Alpha Argon. We’re sure your father would be proud where he is, ” They said, congratulating me.
Their words bloomed my heart.
Of course my father would be proud. I have achieved an award that will show everyone how great his son is.
“Enjoy the ceremony, ” I said, welcoming the council members once again.
Soon, the ceremony started. It didn’t take too long before I was called to the stage to receive my award and give a speech of my success.
Everyone clapped, watching me as I held my award in my hands smiling out with pride.
“This is a wonderful day for me. I never thought I would be the face of the business world this year, ” I chuckled.
As I was talking about my journey, I began to feel strange in my suit.
There was a sudden heat escaping the suit along with my body feeling tight inside.
As I kept on talking, something shocking happened when I touched the back neck of my collar.
“What is this? ” I uttered in my mind, feeling my heart skipping and something slimy.
On bringing my hand forward, I was shocked.
My suit… It’s melting!
My whole body shivered at this, dropping my eyes on the sleeve of my suit.
I noticed it shrinking and slowly exposing my skin.
What is going on?!
Horrified by this, I said my thanks and rushed off the stage, leaving everyone wondering what was wrong.
“Alpha, what happened?” Jerome asked, drawing closer from below the stage, to know what was wrong.
When I got close to him, I grabbed his hand and said in a low groan, “Get me another suit, fast!”
“Another suit? What happened to… Goddess! ” His eyes widened when he noticed my sleeve melting off.
Quickly, I rushed towards the bathroom in the large Hall and ran into one of the toilet.
As soon as I was in, the suit came falling off my body, leaving me half naked.
“My suit! Why did it melt?! What is happening?!” I stared at the melted fabric on the floor, feeling my heart pounding in fear.
“There were so many people looking at me. What if I hadn’t noticed on time? ” I was trembling, imagining the humiliation that would have befallen me if I went completely naked in front of those large crowds.
But what I needed to know was why my suit began melting.
My pounding heart sent me lowering down to grab a piece of the melted fabric, taking a sniff of it.
The moment I sniffed the ruined suit, I felt my wolf growl with disgust.
“Chemical,” I identified the smell, dusting the filth off my hands.
“Someone soaked this suit in chemical. Who did this…” I paused, thinking of one person.
“Brielle?” I uttered, stunned by this.
“She was the one I gave my suit to watch over. She did this to me?” I gazed out in shock, feeling anger welling in my heart.
“Brielle.” I tightened my fist, staring at the ruined suit on the floor.
