ARGON
“Don’t talk to me! Just leave me alone!” Estelle roared at me, pushing me back from her point.
We where outside the mansion, right in the parking lot together.
Estelle, out of anger, over what Brielle had said in the bedroom, stormed out of the mansion, all set to leave. I had to chase after her and catch up before she could get into her car and drive off.
She was so mad with me.
“Estelle, you don’t have to be upset because of what she said. I know she shouldn’t have interfered in our personal matter, but what she said was right, ” I said, trying to explain things to Estelle.
Still, she wasn’t happy with me. She was just mad over what occurred in there.
“She’s right? You’re siding with her now?”
“Estelle, don’t get me wrong.”
“Argon, didn’t you see the way she was talking to me? Me, your Luna! She was speaking like I’m some kid!”
She had her arms crossed, mimicking the last statement Brielle had said.
“As a model who tries out different fashion wears, I thought it would be best if you took note of this. Rubbish! She was clearly insulting me!” She sparked once again.
“And you didn’t even do anything. You just stood there and allowed that woman to speak to me like that. How could you, Argon? ” She blamed me, sniffing with sadness across her face.
“You allowed a loser like to lecture me on what is right for my own husband. Why Argon? ” She sniveled, covering her face
She began forcing tears out to show how upset she was with me.
I didn’t want my Estelle feeling hurt over what happened, so I gently pulled her into my hold, saying, ” I’m sorry, please forgive me. Ignore whatever Brielle said. She was just trying to show off.”
I lifted her face, cupping it in my hold.
With a smirk, I said, “She on my has mouth, but does she have the money to get the suit? She has nothing. ”
When I made that statement, a smile crept across Estelle’s face, showing her delight in my words
She was pleased.
“Yes, she doesn’t have the money to get it. She’s just a useless servant. She’s a complete beggar.”
Better. She’s gradually pulling herself out from her anger.
“But still, you should have shared this with me. I can’t believe you told that Lady and didn’t bother to share this information with me. I’m going to be your wife soon. I deserve to know, and not her, ” Estelle said, still upset.
But even if I tell her that I didn’t tell Brielle about my taste in Chandler’s Moon Fashion, would she believe?
The goddess knows that I never told Brielle anything. I’m still asking myself how.
After comforting my Estelle, she decided to leave and get me a Chandler’s Moon suit, promising to get the best.
“That Zimbi’s fashion should be taken down. They don’t have fashion taste. They made my sweet heart uncomfortable,” She teased, kissing my cheek.
“I’ll be back with your suit. Don’t miss me too much, okay? ” She smiled, getting into her car and driving off.
I watched her leave, before heading back into the mansion, still thinking about the drama that occurred with Brielle.
I’m still blown away by her confidence and revelation in my case.
Now, after witnessing that, I was curious to know where she heard all that about me.
“She has to tell me, ” I decided, making my way back to my room to look for her.
When I got there, I found Brielle picking up the ruined suit from the floor.
She had already sorted Estelle’s clothes into the wardrobe and decided to pick up the pieces of the suit I had ripped apart.
Seeing this, I stepped into the room quietly, looking at her from behind.
Brielle was on her knees at first, but she suddenly paused what she was doing, and turned around, settling her gaze on me.
She gasped, startled by my presence. She immediately got to her feet, bowing before me.
“I didn’t see you there, Alpha. I was just picking up this suit, ” She said, still facing down.
But I didn’t care about that.
“How… Who told you about…” I had skipped, but gave out a sigh.
“Who told you about the kind of suits I wear?” I asked, throwing the question at her.
Hearing me, Brielle lifted her eyes and said, ” No one, Alpha. No one told me about it.”
“Then how did you know? I know very well that I didn’t tell you about it, so who did?” I pointee out.
Brielle lowered her head back down with trembles across her face. Her hands clasping the other, looking scared of me.
“No one told me, Alpha. That’s the truth. I… I discovered it for a long time now.”
“A long time?” I lifted my brow at Brielle in amusement, wondering how long she knew about it.
“We haven’t gotten mated then. Whenever the maids were attending to the laundry, I would sneakily join them, helping out,” She shared.
“Your suits was always kept aside for special attendance, and that got me wondering why no one had attended to it yet. The maids didn’t know either, until I decided to wash them myself and saw the name tag of the fashion home on it,” She explained.
From what she said, I immediately remembered that the fashion house always tag their name on it, to identify their designs.
“Okay, that’s fine. They have their tags, but how did you know of the Zimbi’s?” I asked.
Brielle lifted her head lightly, looking lost in her thoughts. That’s when she said, ” On the day of our mating ceremony, I had gifted you a suit to put on, even though you didn’t like talking to me. It was a secret between your father and I. ”
“What?” I uttered in surprise, listening to Brielle.
“I came around to see if you were putting on the suit, but I met you yelling at Beta Jerome, demanding to know who brought a Zimbi’s fashion. That’s when you revealed your detest for their materials.”
My memories came flashing to that period. Indeed, she was right. I was yelling at Jerome when I saw the suit, reminding him of why I hated the suits from Zimbi’s.
So, she was there?
And she still remembers after all these years?
I stared at Brielle in surprise. She had her eyes hovering, trying not to look at me.
Her hands came together, apologizing next, “I know I shouldn’t have interfered in your matters, but I couldn’t stay quiet while you were looking uncomfortable. I am sorry, Alpha.”
“It’s… Um…” I stammered, not knowing how to react to this.
She may have interfered in my privacy, but she still saved me.
I just glanced at the remaining pieces of the material on the floor and told her to get rid of it.
“Throw it away. And yes, whenever you hear my Luna and I talking about private matters, stay shut even if you know the reason or not. You are a servant and shouldn’t be poking your nose in your Master’s business.”
“I am sorry, ” She repeated again.
Her mood all calm, taking whatever that was thrown at her.
She no longer looked like the sad and helpless Brielle I used to know. That Brielle who would cry over little things and hide away from me in fear. It was like that part of her was gone after she decided to stay back and fulfill father’s wish.
She didn’t feel like the Brielle of old.
She went down on her knees to pick the rest of the fabric. Once she was done, she carefully walked towards the door, about passing me by.
Before she could leave, something whelmed me in an instant.
“How’s your health?” I asked unexpectedly, finding this awkward.
“Oh… I’m better now,” She responded innocently.
I turned to have a good look at her, and found her gazing back.
She smiled, looking aside, so as to avoid much eye contact.
Underneath her eyes had a dark baggy shade, revealing how stressed she was.
Taking my eyes off her, I said, “Once you throw that away, head to your room and rest.”
Surprised, Brielle gasped at what I said. It’s clear that she was in disbelief, hearing that from me.
“But Alpha, I still need to mop…”
“The others will handle that. You do as I have said. You don’t look good, ” I interrupted, pointing at her face.
With embarrassment flushing all over her, Brielle nodded, agreeing to do as I instructed.
“I’ll take my leave now, ” She said, bowing once again before leaving the room.
My body had nothing but discomfort while looking at Brielle in her state.
“What is going on with me these days? I no longer seek pleasure in seeing her being hurt, but now I want her to be healthy. This is not like me.”
“It’s all Estelle’s fault. If she hadn’t done that trick without telling me, by now I won’t be getting bothered over Brielle’s health condition. It’s her fault, ” I shifted the blame to her, since it was her doing.
.
Towards the evening, Estelle returned with a Chandler’s Moon suits, showing the best ones she picked.
“The materials used is so rare and fancy, unlike Zimbi’s and their cheap wears. Would you believe that the amount used to get a suit from Chandler’s can buy four Zimbi’s? That place is so cheap, ” Estelle mocked, now praising the Chandler’s design.
I smiled, admiring her.
“I want you to wear this on that day, my love. My spirit says you’ll look good in this, ” Estelle said, handing me a black suit.
The suit was just right. The flexibility and the color was also perfect.
I agreed with Estelle’s wish, promising to wear the suit on the D day.
“It’s perfect, dear. You’ve done well,” I appreciated, pulling her close for a quick embrace.
“But it needs to be cleaned properly before the ceremony. Let me hire one of the maids to…” Estelle uttered, hovering her gaze around to look for the right person to call over.
She spotted one of the maids, who was attending to the flowers, and called her over.
“Come here, ” She ordered.
The maid came to attend to Estelle’s call, bowing at us.
“Yes, Luna?”
“Take this suit. I want you to wash it and straighten it out, ” Estelle said, handing the suit to the maid.
Her face came all puzzled, as she pointed at herself, asking, ” I should wash the suit? ”
“Where you deaf or what? I said you should get this suit washed and straightened. You are asking me a silly question.” Estelle hissed.
“Forgive me, Luna, but I don’t know how the others attend to the Alpha’s suit. I’ve never worked on it before, ” The maid confessed.
With mockery, Estelle came out laughing.
“You’re joking. Alright then, can you get one of the maids that knows how? We need it to be ready before the D day, ” Estelle requested.
Just when the maid was about to speak, my eyes caught sight of Brielle and that maid who always follow her about.
They were but walking towards the hallway, talking.
On seeing her, I remembered what she had told me in the room this morning.
“I think I’ll call…”
“Brielle!” I raised my voice, interrupting both Estelle and the maid.
When I called, Brielle and her companion turned back, looking at my direction. Even Estelle turned to face me, widening her eyes in curiousness.
Brielle was confused, pointing at herself, to be sure if I was calling her over.
“Why are you calling her? ” Estelle asked, glancing at Brielle then at me.
I didn’t give her an answer but called Brielle over. She came towrads Estelle and I with her companion, standing before us.
“Yes, Alpha?” She asked, lingering her eyes from my point to Estelle’s.
“Why is she here?” Estelle questioned, showing her discomfort to Brielle’s presence.
That’s when I said, ” Let Brielle handle the suit. She knows how to clean it.”
When I made that decision, Estelle’s eyes grew wide in shock.
“What?!” Estelle exclaimed.
“Me?” Brielle uttered, gazing in surprise.
“What do you mean, Argon? We have so many maids in this mansion and we have the ones that can clean your suit. Why call this thing? ” Estelle questioned, rising to her feet.
Despite her words, I still stood on my decision. “Estelle, let her handle it. I have my reasons.”
“I want her to attend to my suit. It’s not her first time, ” I revealed, making it clear to Estelle while stealing glances at Brielle.
She kept staring with her face flushing red, while Estelle… She didn’t look happy with my decision.
