Chapter 76: Jasper, Kneel!

Scarlett gave Harvey a look, signaling him to open the door.
Without hesitation, Harvey opened it to find Mr. Robinson and his son Jasper standing there.
“Mr. Robinson!” Harvey stammered, quickly ushering them in.
The moment Beckett entered, the atmosphere in the room instantly became tense. Not just Scarlett, but even Georgia felt as if a sword was hanging over her head.
Beckett had really come, bringing his son Jasper to teach them a lesson. Old Mrs. Adams’s call had just ended, and they’d arrived so quickly.
Georgia quickly tried to gesture for Kayden to leave, but when she reached out, she grasped nothing. She turned her head to see Kayden already sitting on the sofa, looking as if nothing was amiss.
Georgia had no time to speak, hurriedly composing her nervous expression.
Scarlett swallowed hard and rushed forward, exclaiming, “Mr. Robinson! Mr. Robinson! We were just about to come to your house to explain that matter. We didn’t expect you to come here.”
Beckett was taken aback, but before he could speak, Scarlett hurriedly continued, “The person who made that bet with your son Jasper has nothing to do with us now. He’s already divorced my daughter and is no longer part of the Adams family. Please don’t blame our family, Mr. Robinson. I beg you not to terminate our partnership! Please give my daughter another chance.”
As she spoke, Scarlett was on the verge of tears. She wanted to grab Beckett’s arm but didn’t dare, given their difference in status. She could only look at him pitifully. Beckett’s imposing presence was overwhelming; his personal visit showed how serious the matter was. Just seeing him had scared Scarlett senseless.
Beckett wasn’t a fool. He understood Scarlett’s meaning – she thought he had come to make trouble.
He tried to speak again, but Scarlett’s quick words beat him to it. “Mr. Robinson, he’s right there. You can do whatever you want with him tonight! Whether you want to take him away or make him kowtow to Jasper, it has nothing to do with our family.”
Scarlett thought distancing themselves from Kayden was the right move. Who in Hiphia would dare offend Beckett? The Adams family absolutely couldn’t afford to provoke someone of his caliber.
She pointed at Kayden.
Beckett looked in the direction she was pointing, and the sight made him shudder! Wasn’t this the big shot that even Fletcher had to bow and scrape to? That cold face was one he’d never dare forget.
Seeing Beckett’s gaze, Georgia quickly stepped in front of Kayden. She straightened her back and said somewhat timidly, “Mr. Robinson, you can’t do anything to him. Jasper was the one who lost the bet, fair and square. I’m sure someone of your stature is reasonable. You can withdraw our partnership, but you can’t hurt Kayden.”
Hearing this, Beckett nearly collapsed from fright. He hurriedly stepped forward.
As he took those two steps, the hearts of Georgia’s family were in their throats.
Beckett was angry, he must be furious!
Scarlett couldn’t bear to watch, afraid that Beckett might strike Georgia and make her cry.
But the scene they imagined didn’t unfold. Instead, Beckett did something that left them all dumbfounded.
He stood in front of Georgia and immediately bowed deeply at a 90-degree angle. Then he said meekly, “Madam, how can you say such things? I wouldn’t dare withdraw our cooperation. It’s my honor to work with you. I came here today specifically to apologize to you, Madam. My son unknowingly offended you. I hope you won’t hold it against him.”
Everyone in the room felt a chill run down their spines.
Georgia was completely stunned. She stared blankly at Beckett, her mind a total blank. She had no idea what this meant. This was Mr. Robinson, and he was bowing so low before her – something she wouldn’t have dared dream of. How could she process the scene before her eyes?!
Beckett instinctively glanced at his still unmoving son and roared, “You ungrateful son! Come and apologize to Madam immediately!”
Jasper, standing to the side, trembled in fright and quickly walked to Georgia. Looking at her, he felt a mix of emotions. This was a girl he had once pursued. Even though it was just to get a taste of her body, she had been someone he’d had feelings for.
Now, their positions had drastically changed. In the car, he had listened to his father lecture him the whole way about Kayden’s power!
How could he dare to fight with someone even Fletcher feared?
Without hesitation, he knelt before Georgia and said with his head lowered, “I’m sorry, Madam! I’ve offended you greatly before. Please forgive me and don’t hold it against me.”
This sudden kneeling startled Georgia, and she stepped back a few paces subconsciously.
