Chapter 66: Georgia Was Heartbroken

Heath gave a thumbs up and said, “Mr. Adams, I knew you would be interested in it.”
“I understand you were meant to be in charge of the Adams Group, but somehow Georgia managed to snatch that position away from you. So, I’d like to propose we work together to take down Georgia and help you reclaim your rightful place.”
“What I need is access to your company’s IP. I’ll have my hackers infiltrate your systems and steal the detailed plans for your collaboration with the Atkinson Group. Then we’ll leak those plans online. This will put the current head of Adams Group in breach of contract, and the Atkinson Group will have no choice but to back out of the deal with the Adams Group. Georgia will take a massive hit from the Atkinson Group – she might even end up behind bars. And just like that, you’ll be able to step in and take control of Adams Group, fair and square.”
Jamie had to admit it was a solid plan, but he couldn’t help asking, “Why are you helping me?”
Heath chuckled. “I’m not just helping you – I’m helping myself too. I was also in the running for a partnership with the Atkinson Group. In fact, I was the frontrunner, given the size of my business empire. If I could have secured that contract, it would have paved the way for my company to go public. But you guys snatched it away, so of course I want to get back in the game.”
Jamie, still somewhat puzzled, asked, “So if I take charge and your company goes public, can we work together?”
Jamie’s naivety was precisely why Heath had chosen to approach him.
“Of course! You don’t even need to ask,” Heath replied with a straight face.
Jamie’s expression changed. “Alright, I trust you. But I have one more request.”
“Name it.”
“I want to see Georgia behind bars!”
Heath smiled. “I’ll do my best. Once we leak such sensitive information about the collaboration, the Atkinson Group will definitely sue her. At that point, she’ll have a hard time staying out of prison even if she wanted to.”
“Perfect. You’ve got a deal!”
Meanwhile, in the Adams Group office.
Georgia sat at her desk, a pen in hand, staring blankly at her computer screen. Her mind was clearly elsewhere. Dark circles under her eyes betrayed a sleepless night.
She had expected Kayden to come home last night, waiting for him to explain himself.
But he never showed up, even as dawn broke.
She knew Kayden must have spent the night with that woman. Sariah was gorgeous – who wouldn’t choose to spend the night with her at a place like the Fcon Hotel?
While it might be understandable to some, Georgia found it impossible to accept.
She had given Kayden so many chances, always believing he would come back and explain. But she had waited all night in vain, and now she felt utterly disappointed in him.
Only one thought occupied her mind now: divorce.
Even being with Tony seemed preferable to staying with a cheater like Kayden.
This bastard had agreed to Sariah’s proposal right in front of Georgia, then had the audacity to come home and claim he was just going to ask Sariah some questions. The most heartbreaking part was that Georgia had actually believed he would return.
This time, Kayden had truly shattered Georgia’s heart, leaving her completely disillusioned.
Even in TV dramas, cheating storylines weren’t this brazen. At least most men tried to hide their affairs. But Kayden? He didn’t even bother to be discreet!
His return last night wasn’t to explain – it felt more like he was there to gloat.
As these thoughts swirled in her mind, Georgia deeply regretted the three years she had spent waiting for him. Tears began to roll down her cheeks, each drop heavy with emotion.
After seeing Coco off, Kayden rushed straight to the Adams Group building. His only goal now was to find Georgia and explain what had really happened last night.
At this hour, he knew Georgia would be at the office, so he headed directly there.
As he approached the entrance, he saw someone being turned away at the door for lack of proper ID.
Left with no choice, he decided to use the back entrance.
While the Adams Group wasn’t a major corporation, they did occupy their own building – a modest nine-story structure that paled in comparison to the towering skyscrapers of larger enterprises nearby. It showed the diverse nature of the Adams family’s business interests, which spanned clothing manufacturing, food processing, and more.
Georgia’s office was on the eighth floor, about 30 meters up. Not wanting to cause a scene by forcing his way in, Kayden decided to scale the building from the back and enter through her window.
For someone with Kayden’s skills, even at just 20% of his full capacity, a 30-meter climb was child’s play.
His martial arts training had honed his agility to superhuman levels. What modern enthusiasts called “parkour” was simply a basic exercise in body control for him. When one’s agility reached a certain threshold, speed naturally followed, making the body light and nimble.
So for Kayden, this height posed no challenge. After all, this was the man capable of taking an enemy general’s head in the midst of a million-strong army!
With that in mind, he began to scale the sheer vertical wall as easily as if he were strolling down a path.
“Holy shit!” exclaimed the security guard who had just turned someone away. He had stepped out for a smoke, only to witness this incredible feat. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, he would have sworn he was hallucinating.
He stood there, dumbfounded, as the figure disappeared through an eighth-floor window.
Georgia had just begun to cry when she felt a sudden gust of wind.
She wiped away her tears and turned towards the window.
There, to her shock, stood Kayden.
“Kay-Kayden!” Georgia exclaimed, her brow furrowing in surprise.
Kayden noticed Georgia’s heavy dark circles and the tear tracks on her cheeks. He stepped towards her, asking, “Georgia, are you alright?”
Seeing Kayden approach, Georgia snapped back to reality. She quickly raised her hand to stop him, crying out, “Don’t come any closer!”
Kayden froze in his tracks.
Georgia hastily asked, “How… how did you get in here?”
There was only one door to the office, and while Georgia had been lost in thought, she surely would have noticed if Kayden had entered through it.
