Chapter 65: Heath McDaniel!

Kayden was momentarily stunned. This girl was nothing but trouble; he shouldn’t have intervened in the first place.
“No way!” Kayden firmly refused. “I have important things to do at home!”
“Then I’ll go with you!” Coco pleaded again.
Kayden continued to refuse, saying, “Absolutely not, that would cause misunderstandings.”
“I…” Coco hesitated, then suddenly fell to her knees, clutching Kayden’s leg with both hands. Tears streamed down her face as she said, “Please stay. I really don’t want to die.”
Kayden felt helpless. This girl was determined to cling to him.
“Should I just kill Felipe, then?” Kayden asked coldly.
Coco was stunned for a moment, then quickly shook her head. “No, no, no! Killing someone is against the law!”
She couldn’t understand why this man kept refusing to be alone with her. It made her wonder if she wasn’t attractive anymore. After all, there were plenty of people outside lining up for the chance to be alone with her.
Kayden sighed in exasperation. He realized he was stuck with this troublesome girl.
“Alright, stand up!” he said.
“Does this mean you’re agreeing to stay with me?” Coco asked, a little too eagerly.
Kayden nodded slightly, without saying a word.
Coco immediately brightened up. As an actress, her mood could shift in an instant-from tears to smiles.
“Thank you, really, thank you so much. I just need to get through tonight, and I’ll head back to Zlando tomorrow.”
Kayden still didn’t say anything. He simply walked over to the bed and lay down.
After washing up, Coco came out wrapped in a white bathrobe and joined Kayden on the large, round bed. By then, Kayden had already closed his eyes. She wasn’t sure if he was actually asleep or just pretending.
Coco didn’t disturb him. She just lay down beside him.
But her heart started racing uncontrollably. The male hormones surrounding her made her feel excited. This was her first time sharing a bed with a man, except for during filming.
The man beside her made her heart race. If this man were to undo her bathrobe and make a move, she wouldn’t refuse. She’d be willing to go along with it.
But Kayden didn’t do anything. In the middle of the night, Kayden suddenly got up and moved to the couch to sleep.
Kayden did feel desire-after all, the woman beside him was stunning.
But in his heart, there was only room for Georgia.
At a cafe not far from the Adams Villa, Jamie Adams sat inside.
He touched the corner of his mouth and winced in pain. He had been unlucky; just a few words of bad-mouthing Jasper Robinson behind his back had gotten him beaten up by Jasper’s bodyguards.
It was all Georgia and Kayden’s fault-if they hadn’t gotten involved, he wouldn’t have bad-mouthed Jasper. If he hadn’t bad-mouthed Jasper, he wouldn’t have been beaten up.
Those two were doing incredibly well now, especially Georgia, who was becoming more and more dismissive of him. Take her car, for instance: with her financial situation, there was no way she could afford a $3, 000, 000 vehicle.
He had rushed back to tell Old Mrs. Adams, asking her to investigate thoroughly. But after looking into it, it turned out that Georgia hadn’t embezzled any funds. He had been scolded by Old Mrs. Adams, who told him not to be so jealous.
How could he not be jealous when Georgia was living so comfortably, buying a $3, 000, 000 car?
The Adams family was his, and he was supposed to be the future head of the family. But now, it looked like his position was at risk-Georgia might take over at any moment.
The way Beckett Robinson treated Georgia last time had made Old Mrs. Adams hold Georgia in even higher regard. In contrast, Jamie’s position was now precarious.
He had to find a way to bring Georgia down. If he didn’t act now, Georgia would undoubtedly crush him underfoot in the future, and he would lose all relevance in the Adams family.
Just last night, he had received a call from someone who wanted to deal with Georgia and sought his help.
He had gladly accepted-someone else taking down Georgia was like a dream come true for him. They had arranged to meet at this cafe to discuss the details.
Soon, a well-dressed middle-aged man in his forties entered the cafe.
After scanning the room, the man’s gaze settled on Jamie.
The man walked over and took a seat across from Jamie, greeting him, “Mr. Adams, good morning.”
Jamie sized up the man before him. He didn’t recognize him and asked, “Are you the one who called me?”
“Yes, I’m the one who arranged this meeting. My name is Heath McDaniel, and I’m the head of Sunny Group.” As he spoke, Heath handed Jamie a business card.
Jamie was surprised. “Are you the Heath McDaniel from the Hiphia Steel Factory?”
Heath nodded slightly. “Yes, that’s me.”
Sunny Group was indeed a large enterprise, one of the top firms in Hiphia with numerous collaborations. It was a company that many big corporations trusted completely. They were on the verge of going public with a partnership with Atkinson Group, but Adams Group had suddenly entered the scene, threatening their plans.
This was a critical blow to Sunny Group, so Heath McDaniel had to find a way to stop the cooperation between Atkinson Group and Adams Group. Only by doing so could Sunny Group remain Atkinson Group’s top choice.
“Wow, your reputation precedes you,” Jamie exclaimed.
The thought of sitting across from someone of such stature made him excited.
“Heh, maybe we’ll get a chance to work together in the future,” Heath replied with a friendly smile.
“By the way, wasn’t it a woman who called me last night?” Jamie asked suddenly.
Heath hesitated, then said, “That was my secretary. I had her make the call.”
“Oh!” Jamie’s face fell in disappointment as he spoke. He had thought he was about to have some luck with women.
Heath, the old fox, noticed Jamie’s disappointment. He smiled and said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Adams. I’ll introduce you two someday! My secretary is a real beauty.”
“Really?” Jamie’s eyes lit up. Lately, he had developed a taste for professional women.
But as soon as he asked, he tried to compose himself, adopting a more gentlemanly demeanor. “So, you said you could deal with Georgia. Why don’t you tell me how we’re going to do it?”
