Kayden asked expressionlessly, “Are you trying to rape the lady?”
“Ouch!” Felipe frantically slapped Kayden’s hand, unable to speak as his fat face turned beet red, the color spreading from his head to his neck.
“He… he can’t speak anymore!” Coco, pale with fear, reminded Kayden, terrified that this stranger might strangle Felipe to death.
Kayden released Felipe’s neck, and with a thud, Felipe’s plump body fell to the ground, rolling like a ball before a fit of violent coughing ensued.
“Who… who are you?” Felipe asked in a panic after catching his breath.
Kayden coldly replied, “Just passing by.”
“Do you know who I am, you son of a bitch? How dare you hit me? I’m telling you, kid, you’ve landed yourself in big trouble,” Felipe yelled at Kayden, furious.
“Oh?” Kayden said indifferently, “Well then, let’s see what kind of trouble I’m in.”
“Just wait, I’ll have Beckett Robinson bring people to deal with you,” Felipe shouted, glaring at Kayden with gritted teeth.
It must be said, Beckett really did have a wide network.
“Heh,” Kayden chuckled coldly, then said, “Fine, I actually have some things I need to discuss with Beckett anyway. How about this-I’ll break one of your legs first so you have evidence.”
With that, Kayden walked straight toward Felipe, lifted his foot, and stomped hard on Felipe’s knee. A loud crack was followed by Felipe’s scream.
A second later, Felipe passed out, and everything returned to silence.
Kayden turned to look at Coco, who was pale with fear in the van, and casually said, “You’re safe now! Go home.”
After saying this, he headed straight toward his home.
But after walking about a couple hundred feet, he felt someone following him. He stopped, turned around, and saw Coco standing not far behind him.
Kayden frowned unconsciously and asked, “Why are you following me? Go where you’re supposed to go!”
He didn’t want a woman, especially one in disheveled clothing, following him home and causing Georgia to misunderstand. If she misunderstood again, he’d never be able to explain it.
Coco just stood there, not daring to approach or speak, watching Kayden from a distance.
“Stop following me!” Kayden raised his hand as he spoke, pointing at Coco, then continued walking.
But after a few hundred feet further, he found that Coco was still following him. Kayden had no choice but to stop again, turning to see Coco hurriedly approaching him.
“Why are you following me?” Kayden asked irritably.
Coco, still pale, had been following this man long enough to be almost certain he wasn’t a bad person. If he were, he would have already done something to her. Even Felipe wasn’t his match, so how could she be?
Coco choked back a sob and said, “I… I don’t know where else to go, so I can only follow you.”
“Go back to where you came from! Why are you following me?” Kayden’s face darkened as he spoke again, and his voice grew cold.
Coco explained, “The place I was staying was arranged by Felipe. We came here for filming. Now that you’ve broken his leg, if his friends and men find out, they won’t let me go, so I have no choice but to follow you.”
Kayden did not know how to respond for a moment.
He had hesitated for a long time before stepping in to help, not expecting to save someone who would become such a burden.
“How about I go home with you? I’ll leave first thing in the morning, okay?” Coco asked hopefully, feeling that this man wasn’t bad, so she wasn’t afraid of going home with him.
Kayden shook his head and said, “Of course not. With you dressed like that, if you go home with me, it’ll be a disaster.”
Thinking of this, Kayden pulled out $1, 000 from his pocket and said, “Here, take this and find a nearby hotel to stay at. Stop following me!”
As he spoke, Kayden walked over to Coco and handed her the money.
Coco shook her head and said, “No, I’m scared! I’m too afraid to sleep alone right now. I’m afraid Felipe’s men will find me. Felipe is ruthless. Last time, an actor offended him, and that very day, they were kicked out of the crew and got into a car accident, dying on the spot. Everyone knew it wasn’t just an accident; it was Felipe’s doing.”
“Following me, do you think I’m a good person?” Kayden asked, a bit speechless.
“At least you saved me! Now, I only believe you’re a good person. Please, help me out just this once and let me stay with you,” Coco pleaded with teary eyes.
This was probably the most pathetic moment in Coco’s life, begging a man to take her home.
Out there, who knows how many men wanted to take her home, but they could only dream.
Kayden took a deep breath. He certainly couldn’t take Coco home. If he did, Georgia would probably divorce him on the spot. Sighing in resignation, he said, “Fine, I’ll take you to a hotel.”
Coco nodded and said, “As long as I’m with you, I’ll go anywhere!”
Kayden took Coco to a nearby hotel and booked a luxury suite with a small living room, complete with a sofa, and a bedroom with a romantic-themed setup.
Upon entering the room, Coco’s heart raced, fearing Kayden might do something to her. Although he was far more handsome than Felipe, she didn’t want to have a relationship with a stranger without any feelings involved.
After setting everything up, Kayden said, “Alright, you can stay here safely. I’m going home now.”
Just as Coco was anxiously pondering her situation, Kayden tossed this remark and turned to leave.
Seeing this, Coco quickly grabbed Kayden’s arm and cried out, “Please don’t go!”
“You… you’re just going to leave me here alone?” Coco’s tears welled up again as she added.
Kayden nodded and said, “What else? I have to go home.”
“No!” Coco shook her head vigorously. “After what happened, Felipe will search all of Hiphia to find me. If you leave, and they find me, I’m done for!”
“I’m begging you, please stay here with me tonight!” Coco pleaded pitifully.
