Seeing that further questioning wouldn’t yield any answers, Kayden stood up and said, “Alright! When I have time, I’ll personally visit the Henderson family.”
With that, he began walking toward the door.
“Dr. Scott!” Sariah quickly called out.
Kayden stopped but didn’t turn around, asking, “Anything else?”
Sariah touched her thigh where Kayden had grabbed her earlier and asked, “I want to know, what’s the relationship between us? I’ve lost a lot of memories. I only remember what’s happened in the past two years. Anything before that is a blank.”
Kayden turned back to look at her and said clearly, “You’re my subordinate!”
With that, Kayden turned back around and walked out of the room with firm, purposeful strides.
Sariah stood there, her mind still blank.
His subordinate… Could she really be his subordinate?
If not, in a situation like this, with just the two of them alone, something more might have already happened. Earlier, Kayden almost did something…
Although Sariah was nervous at the time, she had to admit that she was a little bit looking forward to it.
Regardless of her relationship with Kayden, she was starting to become a bit interested in this man.
After leaving the Fcon Hotel, Kayden headed straight home. It was already past eleven at night, and the streets were nearly empty, with only a few cars passing by.
The night wind hit his face, its cold bite stinging his skin. He didn’t feel cold, though; instead, walking alone in the night brought a sense of loneliness. He didn’t much care for this peaceful life, as if battle was his true domain.
He loved the feeling of commanding a battlefield, of being in control.
But now, like a beast forced to live among sheep, he felt a deep, unprecedented loneliness.
As he walked, his attention was suddenly drawn to a large van.
It was parked in a nearby parking lot. The doors were shut, but the van was shaking violently.
It was an expensive luxury van, easily costing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Whoever was inside was likely someone important.
Judging by the shaking, it seemed that two people were engaging in some intimate activity.
Kayden had no intention of intervening, but then he heard a woman’s voice crying out for help, “Help! Help me!”
“Shout all you want,” Felipe Peters spoke as he sneered at the young woman, Coco Franklin, whose clothes he had already torn apart. “We’ve got the windows closed, and it’s so dark out here. No one’s gonna hear you.”
“Coco, why are you being so difficult? You’ve joined this industry, so you should know what’s expected of you. Who else can you rely on? Without me, do you think you’d be where you are today? What’s the big deal about giving your body? Every star I’ve slept with has skyrocketed to fame. As long as you behave tonight, the lead role in this movie is yours, and I’ll make sure you become a superstar,” Felipe said, his hand gripping Coco’s black stockings as he continued to tear at them.
Felipe had indeed slept with many women. As a director, what else was there to do if not this? Coco was just being naive. He’d hinted at this to her many times before, but she never caught on.
Seeing her innocent, youthful demeanor only made Felipe more excited.
Who knows, he might even be dealing with a virgin.
Coco was truly beautiful, the kind of natural beauty that didn’t need makeup to stand out. Her looks were classic, reminiscent of 90s movie stars.
Having had a bit to drink that night, Felipe had lured her into his van, promising a meeting with an investor, only to try and take advantage of her.
Tears streamed down Coco’s face. She knew she had the talent to play the lead role, but she had only ever been cast as a supporting actress because she refused to engage in these kinds of things.
Other directors had also made subtle advances, but she never gave in.
She never imagined that this disgusting, overweight man would try something like this in the van. She regretted agreeing to be in Felipe’s movie.
But no matter how much she struggled, it was no use. Felipe was too strong; she couldn’t break free.
“Coco, stop struggling. It’s pointless. Just relax and go along with it. It’s not as bad as you think. Soon, you’ll start enjoying it,” Felipe said with a laugh.
Suddenly, the van door was yanked open with a loud clatter. In the dim light from the streetlamp, Felipe saw a shadow looming over him and Coco. He stopped what he was doing and looked up at the man standing in the doorway, dressed in shabby clothes. “Who the hell are you? Get lost!” Felipe snapped.
Coco, desperate, saw the man standing at the door as her only hope, and cried out to him with tears in her eyes, “Help me! Please, help me! He’s trying to rape me!”
Kayden didn’t move, his eyes filled with a deadly calm as he stared at Felipe.
Felipe cursed under his breath and pulled out his wallet, taking out a hundred-dollar bill. He handed it to Kayden and said, “I know you want money. Take it and get lost. Don’t waste my time.”
Kayden’s expression didn’t change. Seeing his indifference, Felipe cursed again and said, “Damn it, what an idiot!”
He tried to close the van door, but Kayden’s hand blocked it.
“Shit!” Felipe swore again, his face turning dark with anger. “Are you looking for trouble? Do you know who I am? I’m Felipe Peters, the director. Get lost if you know what’s good for you.”
Felipe was known to have connections in both legal and illegal circles, and this guy was ruining his mood.
Suddenly, Kayden took a step forward, then reached out and grabbed Felipe by the throat.
Felipe’s eyes widened in shock. “You-you-you… What the hell are you doing? Let me go!”
With a swift motion, Kayden yanked Felipe out of the van, lifting him into the air with one hand.
Felipe stared down at Kayden in disbelief, realizing that this man had incredible strength. He weighed over 180 pounds, yet Kayden lifted him effortlessly with just one hand.
“Who… who are you?” Felipe asked, struggling on his tiptoes as he gasped for air.
