Chapter 62: Kayden’s Roughness

In the room, Georgia vaguely heard Scarlett shouting at Kayden, “Hey, it’s so late! Are you looking for trouble? If you go, don’t come back!”
This was followed by a loud bang as the door closed.
Georgia sat on the bed, and her mood instantly sank to rock bottom.
At that moment, she desperately hoped Scarlett could scold Kayden enough to make him stop.
But Kayden still left. Georgia slumped onto the bed, feeling frustrated. The Kayden she had waited for three years turned out to be such a person, which left her feeling more disappointed than ever.
In the past, when people mocked her, she used to think that maybe Kayden was a big shot. After all, her grandfather loved her so much, he wouldn’t set her up with someone unworthy.
Even though Kayden often embarrassed her by bragging shamelessly, Georgia didn’t care because at least he would never do anything to betray her.
But she was wrong. Even if Kayden might be a wealthy and powerful figure, his unfaithful nature was something Georgia couldn’t tolerate.
At the thought of this, Georgia’s expression grew increasingly sorrowful. This time, she truly felt disappointed in herself for waiting three years.
Suddenly, a thought arose in her mind: divorce!
Meanwhile, after leaving the house, Kayden received a call from Coleman, who congratulated him over the phone.
Coleman congratulated Kayden for scoring a date with a beautiful woman.
Kayden ignored him and hung up directly.
In the royal suite of the Fcon Hotel, the room was indeed luxurious.
A grand chandelier hung from the ceiling, easily worth over one million on its own. The walls were gilded, making the room look like a place only the super-rich would inhabit. There was a heart-shaped swimming pool, a gym, a large round bed, a set of sofas, and an entertainment room. In short, the lifestyle of the wealthy was beyond the understanding of the poor.
Sariah Faulkner sat on the sofa, dressed in a sky-blue short dress with a slit at the thigh, revealing her fair, flawless leg. The skin was so perfect it appeared translucent, making one want to reach out and touch it.
Unexpectedly, there was a deep scar on her thigh that looked like a gunshot wound. However, it didn’t diminish the perfection of her leg. Perhaps because her skin was so smooth, the scar seemed more special.
Sariah ran her hand over the scar under the dazzling light. She didn’t remember when she got the injury; she had no recollection of the past two years. From the moment she regained her memories, she had been with the Henderson family.
Just then, Kayden arrived at the hotel. As soon as Sariah saw him, she quickly lowered her raised leg and stood up.
When Kayden saw this, he thought Wood Faulkner was about to call him “Defender of the South” and ask to rejoin his command. But she didn’t. She simply greeted him, “Dr. Scott, you’re here!”
Kayden frowned slightly, and Sariah waved her hand, saying, “You can go now; I need to talk to Dr. Scott.”
With that, the woman glanced at Kayden, nodded, and obediently left.
“Dr. Scott, thank you for saving my life. Without you, I don’t know how much longer I could have lived.”
Kayden glanced at Sariah indifferently and said, “It was the right thing to do.”
After speaking, he sat down on the sofa and asked, “Wood, what exactly happened to you?”
Sariah was stunned for a moment before she smiled and said, “Dr. Scott, I don’t know what you’re talking about, but my name isn’t Wood; it’s Sariah.”
Kayden frowned again and asked, “Do you remember the Zodiac Generals, and the Eight Royal Regiments?”
Sariah was once again taken aback. She looked up at Kayden, who had been distant and indifferent since he arrived, not even giving her a proper look. It was as if, in his eyes, she, a stunning beauty, was nothing.
Wherever she went, Sariah was used to being the center of attention, with men’s greedy eyes fixed on her. But Kayden’s indifference uniquely captivated her.
She stared at Kayden and shook her head, saying, “I don’t remember, Dr. Scott. Do you know me?”
Kayden turned his head to look at Sariah, and their eyes met.
Sariah felt as if she had been stabbed by those piercing eyes, and she quickly looked away, unable to withstand his gaze. Her mind wasn’t strong enough to handle it.
Lowering her head, she murmured, “Dr. Scott, why are looking at me like that…”
“Ah!” Sariah’s words were cut off as Kayden suddenly did something rough. He grabbed Sariah and pinned her to the sofa, then roughly pulled her leg aside.
“Dr. Scott, what are you doing? You’re scaring me,” Sariah exclaimed in panic. She had thought Kayden was a good man, but now, after barely talking to him, he was behaving like this.
Kayden didn’t answer. He continued to hold her leg firmly.
Sariah thought she was about to be assaulted, but then Kayden suddenly stopped.
The abrupt halt startled her, and she swallowed hard, not daring to speak.
Kayden slowly released his grip and said, “You are Wood Faulkner.”
As he spoke, his fingers traced the scar on Wood’s leg.
“This is the mark you received on the battlefield. Five years ago, during the great battle at the Southeast border, you led the troops and were surrounded by the enemy. A sniper shot your leg. If it weren’t for me, you might have died that time.” With that, Kayden let go of Sariah.
Sariah’s eyes flickered rapidly. She had no memory of what Kayden was talking about.
To the current Sariah, Kayden’s story seemed absurd.
For the past two years, she had relearned everything like a newborn, accepting the world around her. According to modern news and television reports, she knew this was a time of peace, and there hadn’t been any wars for many years.
Seeing Sariah’s confused expression, Kayden sighed softly. With only a quarter of his strength restored, he couldn’t figure out what had happened to Sariah.
However, Kayden knew there were only two ways to uncover what had happened to her. The first was to wait until his strength was more than halfway restored. The second was to personally visit the Henderson family.
It seemed the second option was more reliable, as his recovery had reached a bottleneck.
So he said to Sariah, “Never mind. Telling you all this won’t help since you don’t know. I’ll just ask you one question: since you woke up, have you always been with the Henderson family in Inassea?”
Sariah nodded and said, “Yes!”
