All the security personnel and staff around the hotel suddenly stood at attention, their voices unified as they chanted, “Welcome, Mr. Scott and Mrs. Scott.”
As their voices faded, the surroundings of the hotel erupted in thunderous shouts.
“Welcome, Mr. Scott and Mrs. Scott.”
The shout reverberated through the air, stirring the crowd and leaving many in shock.
Those who didn’t know what was happening looked up, wondering who Mr. Scott and Mrs. Scott were. Why were they receiving such respect from the Vincents? Were those two young people actually that important?
Jasper’s mouth fell open, his smile frozen in disbelief, his expression as if he’d tasted something vile. Who were they? The Adams family was just a second-rate family in Hiphia, definitely not deserving of this kind of treatment.
He and the group behind Quentin cursed, struggling to express their astonishment.
Kayden didn’t even glance at them. He simply held Georgia’s hand and calmly said, “Let’s go, sweetheart.”
With that, they walked into the hotel under everyone’s watchful eyes.
Not only did they get in, but they did so in a manner that left everyone else dumbfounded.
No one else had received such treatment; only they had been treated this way.
‘Could they really be specially invited?’ Jasper’s mind flashed with this question, only to dismiss it immediately. Impossible! He refused to believe that guy was specially invited.
At this moment, Quentin pointed at Kayden and Georgia, trembling as he said, “Mr. Robinson, did you see? They got in. It’s real. Holy shit! You talked to the gatekeepers, right? How could they still get in? And not just get in, but be invited in such a grand manner. You lost, Mr. Robinson, you lost!”
Quentin’s words drew many eyes to Jasper, and people started murmuring, “Who would have thought Mr. Robinson would lose? Are we going to see Mr. Robinson kneeling soon?”
Some who didn’t know Jasper directly voiced their opinions loudly, “Damn it. Seeing Mr. Robinson kneel would be quite a sight.”
“Mr. Robinson not only has to kneel, but it seems he’ll have to kneel before a fool. Sounds hilarious.”
Hearing this, Jasper’s anger surged. He turned around and yelled at Quentin, “I’m not blind, I saw it. Don’t you dare say I lost. Do you think they’re qualified to challenge me?”
With that, Jasper stormed towards the gatekeepers.
Quentin wiped his forehead and mumbled, “Why are you yelling at me? I didn’t let them in.”
He only dared to whisper this and wasn’t about to provoke that devil Jasper.
Meanwhile, Jamie witnessed the scene happened just now from a BMW X6 in the parking lot.
Jamie had intended to watch Kayden kneel before Jasper and had his phone ready to record and post online to soothe his resentment.
But to his shock, Kayden and Georgia not only entered but did so in front of Jasper.
Jamie, agitated, exclaimed, “Damn it, is Jasper an idiot? Why didn’t he stop them from entering? Holy shit, Jasper must be a fool.”
Fuming, Jamie didn’t notice two men in black approaching the BMW X6.
“Who did you call an idiot? Are you talking about Sir Jasper?” One of the men asked.
These two men in black were Jasper’s bodyguards, brought to guard his car.
“Well… I… I…” Jamie stammered, unable to articulate a response.
Then, he was dragged out of the car and beaten by the bodyguards.
Jasper approached the gatekeepers, seething with rage, and demanded, “Did you forget something? Didn’t I tell you not to let Kayden and Georgia in? Why did you let them in?”
The two gatekeepers exchanged glances. One said, “Mr. Robinson, it’s not that we didn’t want to help you, but Mr. Scott had a special invitation. So he is the honored guest of Old Mr. Vincent. If we offended them, we’d be fired.”
“What?” Jasper doubted his ears, repeating, “Honored guest ?”
“Yes, Mr. Robinson, it’s indeed a special invitation, for the honored guest only.”
One of the gatekeepers fished out a stack of money from his pocket and offered it to Jasper. “Here, I’ll return the money you gave us.”
Jasper took the money, saying, “How could this be? How could he be the honored guest? I know him; he’s just the son-in-law of the Adams family, a fool. No way!”
“Hey, do you want to go in or not?” The gatekeeper’s tone grew cold after seeing Jasper took the money.
“If not, let the others in. There’s a long line behind.” His tone turned harsh as he realized it was unlikely to get the money from Jasper. But after Jasper took the money, he really didn’t have anything to do with the guy.
Jasper frowned a little when he heard the guy’s bad tone. He was in a rage and didn’t want to tolerate a gatekeeper being mean to him. However, since this was the Vincents, and today was the Vincents’ special day, he really didn’t dare to mess with Coleman, so he could only take out the invitation angrily and finally walked in.
He wouldn’t let Kayden off the hook. Even if Kayden was inside, he would make sure he knelt before him.
When Kayden and Georgia went inside the Vincents’ reserved hall at Fcon Hotel, a dignified elderly man immediately approached.
“Mr. Scott, hello. I’m Gauge, the Vincents’ butler. Old Mr. Vincent couldn’t greet you personally now. I hope you won’t mind,” Gauge said, bowing respectfully.
“No problem. Go ahead and do your business. I will just look around,” Kayden replied casually.
Gauge wanted to say more but decided against it, giving a brief response before leaving.
Georgia’s heart raced with excitement. She still couldn’t believe what had just happened. It felt like a dream. They not only got in but did so in such a remarkable manner. It was beyond comprehension.
“Kayden, how did you manage this? Why does Old Mr. Vincent respect you so much?” Georgia asked, incredulous.
Kayden explained again, “I told you before, he is my friend.”
“Friend? Really?” Georgia was beginning to doubt everything.
Her grandfather couldn’t even meet Coleman Vincent; how could Kayden have connections? It seemed impossible!
Kayden chose not to explain further and Georgia kept saying, “I guess it must be the big boss you saved in the jewelry business who arranged this, right? Does he have a good relationship with Old Mr. Vincent?”
Kayden was a bit speechless. Why did Georgia have to go and doubt him when what he said was clearly true? But, it doesn’t matter.
At that moment, two elegant women passed by Kayden and Georgia. One accidentally bumped into Kayden and quickly said, “Sorry!”
She then looked Kayden up and down and laughed.
Whispering to her companion, she said, “Did you see what he’s wearing? How peculiar!”
“There are all kinds of people these days. He must have been one to sneak in.”
Georgia finally noticed Kayden’s attire: a black shirt, faded jeans, and canvas shoes. All together, it cost less than two hundred dollars. Such attire was completely mismatched for this event.
Georgia had previously thought they wouldn’t get in, so she hadn’t paid attention to Kayden’s outfit. Now that they were inside, it was quite embarrassing.
She looked at Kayden and said, “Why didn’t you change into something more appropriate before coming?”
Though her own attire wasn’t formal, at least it was presentable. Kayden’s outfit was completely unsuitable for the Vincents’ centennial celebration.
“I did change.” Kayden shrugged. “This is probably my best outfit.”
Georgia felt awkward, realizing it was indeed the best Kayden had. For the past three years, he had been so out of his mind that anything given to him would end up destroyed.
Since then, Georgia had only bought him cheap clothes.
Seeing Georgia frown, Kayden asked, “What? Do you think my clothes don’t match you?”
Georgia quickly lifted her head and said, “No, it’s not that. I just think you should dress more formally.”
With that, Georgia linked her arm with Kayden’s to show she wasn’t displeased. She wasn’t sure if she had feelings for Kayden, but she did enjoy being with him.
Soon, Jasper stormed in, his fists clenched and eyes filled with murderous intent. He was furious that Kayden had embarrassed him and become the subject of ridicule. He had never been a laughingstock before, and if he didn’t vent his anger, he wouldn’t be Jasper Robinson!
He was Beckett Robinson’s son, and kneeling would disgrace his father’s fame. He wouldn’t kneel; instead, that fool had to kneel. So what if he got in? He still had to kneel!
If Kayden didn’t kneel, he, Jasper Robinson was going to be humiliated in front of everyone else. But he had to tell those who wanted to mock him that even if he lost, no one was qualified to make him kneel.
Jasper, seething with rage, was approached immediately by someone who asked, “Mr. Robinson, I heard you made a bet today where the loser has to kneel?”
This only fueled his anger further. He shoved the person aside and quickly spotted Kayden.
Grinding his teeth, he roared, “Kayden, kneel down!”
