“Really?” Georgia’s face showed skepticism upon hearing Jamie’s words.
As soon as she asked, she knew she’d been tricked. Jamie was unlikely to help her. He was probably looking forward to watching her fail.
“It looks like you didn’t get the invitation, did you?” Jamie started laughing.
“What a fool you are, daring to bet against Mr. Robinson. I really admire you.” Jamie said, giving Kayden a thumbs-up.
After hearing the news, Jamie was hoping Mr. Robinson would quickly deal with Kayden. After all, he still resented Kayden for having beaten him, and he was eager for someone to punish this fool.
“Georgia, I really would like to help you, but I won’t. If you insist on my help, you can always kneel down and beg me. After you kneel, maybe I’ll consider helping you. Think about it. After you kneel, your silly husband won’t have to embarrass himself kneeling before Mr. Robinson at the Fcon Hotel,” Jamie said with a self-satisfied tone.
With a thud, Kayden was suddenly in front of Jamie, delivering a punch with lightning speed.
Jamie was enraged, his face contorted in fury. He glared at Kayden and shouted, “How dare you! Do you…”
Before he could finish, Kayden pulled out two invitation cards and placed them in front of Jamie. Coldly, he said, “Open your damn eyes and see what these are.”
“Invitation cards?” Jamie read the words on the envelopes. Then he frowned and said, “Impossible, these must be fake. Let me see it.”
As soon as he reached out, Kayden withdrew the invitation cards and said, “A loser like you doesn’t deserve to see them.”
With that, Kayden grabbed Georgia’s hand and said, “Let’s go, sweetie.” Without waiting for Georgia to react, he pulled her outside.
Jamie stood there in a daze, touching his face. ‘Damn him, he hit me again.’
He stomped his foot in frustration and gritted his teeth, saying, “Kayden, you bastard! I’ll make sure I watch you die.”
Soon, Kayden drove Georgia to the Fcon Hotel.
Georgia’s heart was pounding. She looked at Kayden and asked, “Do you really have the invitation?”
She had visited countless people over the past few days without getting an invitation, so it was hard for her to believe that Kayden had one.
Kayden pulled out two invitation cards and handed them to Georgia, casually saying, “Did you think I was bluffing that day? If I wanted to, not only would I get an invitation from the Vincents, but even if the Trevino family, the largest family in Seclela, were hosting a banquet, they’d happy to invite me.”
Georgia looked at Kayden with a deadpan expression. She felt her hope drain away. How could Kayden still be bragging at a time like this?
Seeing the invitation cards, Georgia hesitated but eventually chose to trust Kayden once more. After all, he had surprised her before. Maybe he wasn’t lying this time.
Before long, they arrived at the entrance of the Fcon Hotel.
Upon arriving, Georgia saw Jasper and Quentin, among others, chatting at the door. Everyone who had dined there that night was present. In addition to her old classmates, there were many wealthy young men and people who knew the two of them.
The news had spread widely in Hiphia’s upper class circles. Many had come early to watch the spectacle, claiming they were here to see Mr. Robinson deal with people.
“By the way, Mr. Robinson, do you think that guy might not show up?”
“Yeah, Mr. Robinson, do you think he might be scared and run away overnight?”
A few people asked Jasper, who remained silent, merely puffing on a cigarette.
“Run away? Where could he run? Do you think he can escape Mr. Robinson’s grip? In Hiphia, Mr. Robinson could almost control everything and get what he wanted,” Quentin said.
Quentin’s flattery was effective, and people quickly praised Jasper.
“Indeed. If I were Georgia, I wouldn’t be with that fool. Being with Mr. Robinson is so much better. She could have owned wealth, status, everything.”
“Mr. Robinson, if you make her husband kneel to you, she might fall in love with your commanding presence. What do you think of it?”
Jasper smirked and said, “That’s possible! But do you think I’d want her after that?”
“Right. With Mr. Robinson’s status and position, a woman who’s been f*cked by others is not worthy of you.”
“However,” Jasper’s tone changed, “if she insists on sleeping with me, I wouldn’t mind playing around. After all, I won’t lose anything.”
Many people gave Jasper a thumbs-up, showing their envy.
A moment later, someone questioned, “The Adams family doesn’t even have fifty million in assets. Will they really come?”
“They’re here!”
Almost everyone turned to look, and there were Georgia and Kayden walking over.
Seeing them approach, Jasper whistled, dropped his cigarette, and said, “I didn’t expect you to actually come. I thought you’d already run away.”
“Mr. Robinson, he might think he has no place to hide. Maybe he came here to beg you?” Quentin quickly added.
“It’s okay that he begs me, but he has to kneel down and bow to me.”
The two laughed loudly, and the crowd around them joined in the laughter.
Upon hearing the words from Jasper and Quentin, Georgia’s heart tightened. She gripped Kayden’s hand more firmly, feeling a deep sense of struggle. These were her old classmates, and if Kayden knelt to Jasper, she would be thoroughly humiliated. Her position in Hiphia would be untenable, but there was no turning back now.
Kayden clearly felt Georgia’s sweaty palm. He tightened his grip on her hand and said, “Don’t worry, I’m here.”
He then looked around at the crowd and fixed his gaze on Jasper. “I’m here to see you kneel. So what? Did you gather so many people just to watch you kneel?”
Hearing this, Quentin burst out laughing. “What the hell? Are you still not thinking straight?”
“Do you really think you can get in? Do you have fifty million dollars?” Jasper looked down at Kayden arrogantly.
Kayden glanced at Jasper, said nothing, and simply shook his head before walking past him.
“Fu*k you!” Jasper felt ignored and immediately cursed.
He hurriedly blocked their way, staring at Kayden and saying, “You can go in, but you need an invitation. Do you have it?”
Kayden remained silent and simply took out the two invitation cards.
Jasper was stunned, took the invitation cards, and found that they were identical to his own.
“Have the techniques for forging invitations improved so much?” Quentin looked at the invitation cards in surprise.
“Fake?” Jasper asked, puzzled.
Quentin, with a look of insight, said, “Mr. Robinson, check if your invitation has these words.” He pointed to the “Special Invitation” on the card.
Upon seeing the words, Jasper laughed and said, “Special Invitation? Ours just have ‘Invitation.’ Yours have ‘Special Invitation.’ Kayden, are you kidding me? Next time, ask me about the words on it before you imitate them. Don’t make mistakes, idiot!”
“This idiot is going to make me die laughing.” Quentin laughed triumphantly.
Not just Quentin, but everyone behind them laughed.
Georgia’s heart skipped a beat. She grabbed the invitation cards and looked at the words, her mind going blank.
How could she have not thought Kayden might have forged them? Georgia thought, ‘Kayden is too bold. He even faked the invitation. Does he think the Vincents are fools? This is going to be a huge embarrassment if it’s discovered.’
“Kayden, is this fake?” Georgia asked, hopelessly.
She just hoped Kayden would be honest at this point.
Kayden shook his head. “Of course not. These were given to me by Coleman. ‘Special Invitation’ means it’s for very special guests. I think apart from us, no one else has this wording.”
Georgia could no longer listen. ‘Obviously he was really bragging. Considering their social status, did he really think they could access someone of Coleman’s level?’
She had already warned Kayden not to brag. Why couldn’t he change? Even at such a crucial moment, he was still boasting.
Her look towards Kayden turned desperate.
But Kayden, indifferent, held her hand and walked toward the hotel entrance, saying casually, “Let’s go.”
Quentin, who had been laughing, was taken aback. He asked Jasper, “Mr. Robinson, is that invitation real?”
Jasper sneered and said, “Even if it’s real, so what? Do you think they can get in? Before they arrived, I had already instructed the two gatekeepers at the door. When they see these two names, they’ll be kicked out. Those guards are from a mafia team, and I know their boss.”
With that, Jasper crossed his arms and waited for Kayden and Georgia to be thrown out. He was prepared to see Kayden kneel and apologize.
Jasper thought, ‘No matter how much power and energy Kayden has, he can’t win against me.’
In fact, Jasper wasn’t familiar with the two guards at the gate. He had simply slipped them some money to help him out. He didn’t actually believe that Kayden and Georgia could get in; he had just taken precautions.
Suddenly, when the gatekeeper saw the invitation Kayden presented, his face changed drastically. He immediately blew a whistle, signaling an emergency assembly with military precision.
Jasper thought, ‘Is that gatekeeper really that eager to get rid of Kayden for me?’
But the next moment, he was completely stunned.
A multitude of uniformed staff rushed out, quickly forming two lines on either side of Kayden and Georgia. Then, they bowed deeply and shouted in perfect unison, “Welcome, Mr. Scott and Mrs. Scott.”
As their voices echoed, an even more dramatic scene unfolded.
