After leaving the dealership, Kayden and Georgia sped down the highway. This was one of the rare occasions Georgia was driving, and given that it was a three-million-dollar car, she was exceptionally cautious, hardly daring to speak.
Not long after, Georgia’s phone rang. She pulled it out and saw that it was Leah calling.
“Hey, Georgia, school’s out today. Can you come pick me up in the afternoon?” Leah asked on the other end.
“Sure, I’ll pick you up later,” Georgia replied.
After ending the call, she turned to Kayden and said, “That was Leah.”
“Oh,” Kayden responded nonchalantly, clearly not interested in the matter.
The car fell into a quiet lull, and Georgia couldn’t help but ask, “Kayden, where did you get all that money? Did the person you saved give it to you?”
To Kayden, money was just a series of meaningless numbers. He could have as much as he wanted. After regaining his memories, he could summon whatever he desired with ease.
He nodded slightly. “Yes.”
Georgia smiled wryly. “This guy really is wealthy!”
…
Meanwhile, Jamie had now become the head of the company, fully responsible for the cooperation with Atkinson Group. This meant his status had dramatically changed. Once the Adams family became a top-tier family, Jamie would successfully take over the Adams family’s affairs, managing their business even if he wasn’t the head of the family.
Excited, he adjusted his tie and called out, “Lara!”
As someone in Jamie’s position, a secretary was essential. At his call, a woman dressed in professional office attire and high heels entered.
“Mr. Adams, how can I assist you?” the secretary asked with a smile.
The woman was attractive and married, possessing a charm that younger women lacked. Jamie had many women, but he hadn’t yet played with someone so professionally and married.
Seeing her, Jamie had some unspoken thoughts. He recalled movies where office women had affairs with company executives and felt a sudden urge to experience it himself.
“Sit down!” Jamie gestured to the sofa across from him.
The woman, understanding the office dynamics, complied with Jamie’s request. She sat, exposing her bare legs, which made Jamie’s interest grow. He deliberately asked, “I heard you’re married?”
The woman nodded. “Yes, Mr. Adams, I’ve been married for three years.”
“No wonder you seem more mature than the younger women in the company!” Jamie complimented.
The woman smiled modestly. “Mr. Adams, you flatter me.”
Jamie smiled back, picking up a random document from the desk and moving to sit next to the woman. “By the way, what does this line mean?”
The woman took the document and began to explain it to Jamie. As she spoke, Jamie’s hand intentionally rested on her leg. When he noticed she didn’t resist, he said, “Lara, you have such a feminine charm. I love the fragrance you’re wearing. It’s so unique. I was captivated the moment I saw you.”
He then moved his hand to her chest and embraced her body.
“Mr. Adams, you…” The woman began to squirm, panic in her voice. “You can’t do this. This is the office, and… and I’m married.”
“So what if you’re married? You’ll still be working for me, and you know what my position will be in the future.” Jamie greedily touched her, asking.
The woman, flushed and embarrassed, said, “I know you’re now the head of the project with Atkinson Group, and you’ll be the company’s leader. Rumor has it that the head of the Adams family will be you.”
Jamie smiled. “If you follow my words, I guarantee a great future for you.”
As he spoke, his hand reached between her legs. The woman bit her lip, enduring the situation. Her actions and behavior indicated that she was willing to sacrifice something for her future.
Just as things were heating up and about to reach a crucial point, there was a knock on the door.
Jamie’s actions halted abruptly. He called out, “Who’s there?”
A man’s voice came from outside. “It’s me, Malachi. Mr. Adams, I have important news for you.”
Jamie frowned, stood up from the sofa, straightened his clothes, and gave Lara a regretful look. “You should go now. Come back later.”
Lara, without saying a word, quickly adjusted her attire and left, her face flushed.
Malachi entered and said, “Mr. Adams, Mr. Robinson just arrived at the company.”
“Wow!” Jamie’s face grew serious. “Why didn’t you tell me sooner? Let’s go meet Mr. Robinson.”
Malachi lowered his head and said, “But Mr. Robinson left a message. He said that if the company’s head isn’t Georgia, he will terminate the collaboration with the Adams family. He won’t deal with anyone else but Georgia.”
The news was a blow to Jamie. He gritted his teeth and said, “This… What kind of scheme has Georgia used to charm Beckett? I’ll call Mr. Robinson myself.”
He went to the phone and dialed Beckett’s number.
“Who’s this?” Beckett’s voice was commanding.
Jamie quickly tried to placate him. “Hello, Mr. Robinson, this is Jamie, the person in charge of the Adams family. I heard some blondes have arrived at Club Wind. Tonight, I’d like to invite you…”
“Get lost!”
Beckett cut him off and hung up.
Jamie cursed under his breath, pounded the desk with his fist, and the phone rang again.
He quickly answered it, and Old Mrs. Adams’ furious voice came through. “Jamie, you’re a waste of space, incapable of doing anything right!”
