Bambi POV.
“Is Pauly okay?” I ask Chris, he doesn’t seem to be okay, he’s done throwing his wolfie’s tantrum but he’s crying, I could hear his tears even from here, he’s still sobbing into Hazel’s arms, while she’s trying to do anything she could to calm him down, she tried to offer him playing with me even.
“Come on baby, what are all these tears for?” Hazel asks she was the one on the verge of tears now as well, she can’t cry, Pauly is just mad cause he’s overwhelmed, I’m sure he’s just overwhelmed.
“Hey, Paul, no cry, baby,” I say taking a step toward him, with Christopher standing behind me the whole time, keeping an eye on me, not that I’m running away or anything.
Pauly in his whining and fussy mood, he slapped my hand away, Chris and Hazel were quick to react, she pulled him away and Chris had me against his chest with both of my hands locked in his hand to keep me from touching him again.
“Pauly no little boy, that’s not nice,” Hazel says holding him tighter in her arms, while he tried to wiggle out of her arms until he managed to get down on the ground.
“Paul,” Hazel calls after him when he started to run away from her, I was worried about my friend, would he be okay, he’s running around the department.
“I’ll deal with him, I’ll calm him down, promise!” I say trying to get out of Chris’s arms, but he kept his hold on me.
“No, it’s dangerous, he might be a pup, but he can hurt you, one of us would deal with him,” Christopher says.
“Hazel been trying to calm him down for an hour now, and he only like her, I’m his only friend, let me talk to him,” I say again, why won’t he let me deal with my friend?
“She got a point boss,” Hazel says, I know the supernatural enough to know I’m stepping on his power territory, but my friend needs me, he’s just overwhelmed, I’ve been there and done that.
“Please, please, Sir, let me go check on him, if he tries to hurt me, I’ll call you guys,” I assure him, not that my friend would hurt me, he didn’t do it on purpose, he’d never hurt me.
“Fine Bambi, but if he pretty much hisses at you, you get your pretty little bum over here,” he orders me, I just nod my head yes.
“Use your words,” he says.
“Yes, I will promise,” I say crossing my fingers behind my back, I don’t really promise him anything.
“Go, get me my baby back,” Hazel says, I went to search for Pauly, he have ran out of the entertainment room, I went to look for him in our offices, he could be anywhere in this giant department, although it’s only one floor, but it’s enormous, and it’s filled with rooms and closed doors, and other open ones.
“Pauly? Paul! Here little pup!” I call to him, going down on my knee to check if he’s hiding somewhere, he’s not so small, but he can hide under the couch or other places like that. He wasn’t in our office, and I kept on walking and searching for him, calling out for him.
The other littles, the younger ones were taking naps, while the older ones were sitting with who’s left of the doms, there’s only a couple left, most have skipped or didn’t find the one they are looking for.
I went toward the sleeping rooms, maybe he’s hiding in his room, that’s where I usually go when feeling really low, I went into his room, and kept the door open, in case I need to run out in case of emergency, I don’t believe that Pauly would hurt me, but better safe than sorry.
“Pauly?” I call out, and hear some whining and scratching on the floor, his room was different than mine, instead of having a bed, he have a crib, all of the clothes around here are little clothes, and soft toys for him, he’s such a young and small little. Underneath the blue crib was a fluffy tail, the tail of a wolf, I went down on my knees again and looked at him, I didn’t want to scare him, he was already worried and overwhelmed.
“Hey little pup,” I say in a calm voice, I didn’t try to dominate him, I’m not dominant, and I don’t want to scare him. He whined in response, looking at me, now our eyes are meeting, I smiled at him, he’s not going to hurt me, I knew it.
“It’s okay, I know you’re worried, but you’re safe now, can you come out?” I ask him nicely, he shakes his head no, at me, probably still scared to come out.
“I never saw a wolf before, you are beautiful, and your fur is so silky,” I say opening small talk with him. He blushed, I didn’t know wolves can blush but he did, looking the other way with his face going redder than it was.
“Please come out Pauly, it’s just the two of us, I’ll keep you safe,” I promise him, and he finally agrees to come out, he shifted out from underneath the crib and placed his head over my lap, laying there, I tried to pet his head, but then stopped, but he only rubbed his head against my lap, giving me permission to pet his head.
“Hey, it’s okay, Pauly, no need to be scared anymore, you got Hazel really worried about you though,” I say.
“I think she might want to be your mommy,” I say teasing him making him whine and hide again in my lap, I couldn’t help but giggle.
“Hey when you shift back, do you get clothes or would you be naked?” I ask him suddenly, I need to know, he turned to me, rolled his eyes at me, and placed his head back on my lap.
“What, I need to know!” I say but he ignored me, we stayed just like that cuddling, this reminds me so much of the time I used to spend with Colin, how he’d hold me when I was scared or in need of someone to be there for me.
“Are you my friend Pauly?” I ask him, I wasn’t sure if I’m really friends with him or just associate.
He turned to me and growled, nodding his head, yes, then I’ll take this as an okay, I got a friend now! Colin would be happy to know I made a second friend in my life, one that’s cute and can bite people’s bums off, I love this new friendship!
