Adriel’s Point of View:
“Adriel, are you tapping out again? Is this about the dead girl?” Vagon asked with a serious expression. He looked at me in the eyes, and I sighed softly.
“I just need some rest, and please don’t bother to deal with Logan. I sense he has gotten himself stronger partners.
Also, grandma suddenly called me today, I guess this has something to do with Logan. We have to be very careful, or else someone will get badly hurt.” I explained to my friends, and they nodded in agreement.
They all look worried, with many unanswered questions, but I didn’t have the energy to explain anything to anyone. So I patted each of them on the shoulders and left the party.

Author’s Point of View:
“I think Adriel has finally found his better half,” Vagon said, but his friends shook their heads in disapproval.
“Really, Vagon? There is a serious matter at hand and all you can think of is Adriel getting a soulmate.” Michael chipped in, squinting his eyes at Vagon.
“I think it is a good thing. The last time he lost control, he killed thousands of supernatural creatures, but no one talked about it because it helped us to defeat the rogue vampires.
I think if he finds his soulmate, he will be able to control his powers, and we can be sure that our future fight will not be as gory as it should be.” Vagon explained himself clearly, and although his friends supported his point of view, Philious still chuckled at him.
“You like when things are gory, why are you suddenly acting like a saint?” Philious asked, looking at Vagon curiously.
Vagon sighed deeply. “I sense a lot of betrayal, and I am afraid that Adriel might lose control again and go berserk.
And if that happens, what if we are not there to control him, do you know how fatal it will be to the world?” He asked rhetorically, and before he could get a response, Quinn Lupa came to join them.
“Where is my Adriel?” Quinn Lupa’s authoritative voice echoed in the room.
“Don’t worry, mom, he is fine. He left first. I think he needs some rest,” Philious replied, hiding the real matter at hand, and the two other men nodded in agreement.
“Humm, that’s okay. How is your mission going?” Quinn asked, changing the topic.
“So far, our plan has changed. We will not be traveling for now. In fact, you will be seeing us more often,” Michael informed the woman, and she arched her brows in confusion.
“That’s unexpected.” Quinn reasoned thoughtfully. “If this is about Rose, don’t worry I have it under control, don’t let a little housefly like her ruin decades of planning.” She continued, trying to get them on their feet again.
“Actually, this is not about her. The keepers of Neptune are dead, and the next leader is in Limiha city.” Philious explained to his foster mother.
“Well, if that is the case, then attend my birthday party, and get Adriel to come along with you.” Quinn demanded with a smile on her face.
“Don’t worry, we will.” The men replied cordially. Quinn pecked Philious and Michael’s cheeks, and the two men bowed at her before leaving.
Vagon was about to take his leave, but Quinn held his shirt’s collar.
“I saw you taking a lady out of a room, earlier today. Who is she? Your girlfriend?” Quinn asked with furrowed brows, looking at Vagon suspiciously. Vagon looked genuinely surprised, and he laughed momentarily.
“You must be talking about Rachel,” Vagon said giggling excitedly.
“I don’t care about her name, boy!” Quinn replied with an icy voice.
“She is not my girlfriend, although I find her very attractive. You are not jealous, are you?” Vagon asked with squinted eyes, and Quinn laughed at him.
“Why will I be jealous of my son’s stupid attraction?” Quinn asked, her voice suddenly uncertain.
“Argh! You must have forgotten Mum C, but I am not your son. And please don’t address me as such, I prefer to be called your very close friend,” Vagon replied, and Quinn burst into laughter, clapping her hands.
“My very close friend?” She looked surprised. “Wow, you like to imagine things, don’t you?” She questioned, a gentle smile on her face.
“I do, and I will not stop, because I believe that one day, my imagination will come true.” Vagon winced childishly, and winked his eye balls at Quinn, and the both of them burst into laughter.
“Humm, maybe. But I am sure it will be in your next life,” Quinn chipped in, smiling at Vagon suspiciously. They both continued their discussion, laughing hysterically.
Lola and Roseline stood in a corner, looking at Quinn and Vagon curiously. While Lola had a jealous expression on her face, Rose looked bored of seeing her brother flirt with a woman of great power and authority.
But they weren’t the only ones wondering what was happening between Vagon and Quinn. Edward Malt, elder brother to the late Thomas, stood in another corner, he kept looking at Quinn, irritated by her presence.
“She is such a greedy woman! How dare she take all my brother’s inheritance and leave me with crumbs? I am the eldest, I should be in charge of his properties, but a useless woman who didn’t work with us came out of nowhere and took everything that rightfully belongs to me.
Ahhh! I want to cut her into tiny pieces, then feed her flesh to the bird of the night.” Edward lamented with gritting teeth, his fists clenched, and he broke a bottle of wine.
“Humm, don’t worry. Work with you, and I promise you, your brother’s wealth and much more will be in your arms, and you can destroy her if you want to.” A man’s hoarse voice replied Edward. Although his face was covered in darkness, his voice sounded very familiar. It sounded like someone really close to the family.
Oh no, it sounded like ……
