Author’s Point of View:
“Wait, what? Broke up with him after five years of dating?” Philious asked a rhetorical question, with a deep frown on his face, and Brandon nodded in response.
“Wow! That is so annoying!” Philious exclaimed, and thought quietly for a while. He turned to look at Brandon, a grimace on his face. “Do you by any chance know this boyfriend’s address or workplace? I will make sure I make him a total cripple!”
Brandon looked shocked and he quickly shook his head, “sadly, I don’t have such information because he has fled this town. He knows that his life was in danger especially if Lady Quinn got involved, so he ran away. But, even if I have the said information, I won’t give it to you because I made a promise to Liam that I will keep this a secret.” He explained, with a gentle smile on his face.
“Hmm.” Philious hummed softly, and quickly scrutinized Brandon’s face to check if he was making things up. “Thanks for the info, but next time when you promise to keep something a secret, do well and fulfill your promise, it shows that you are trustworthy.”
Brandon looked embarrassed because of Philious’ words, and he scratched his head awkwardly.
“I am very trustworthy, and I wouldn’t have told you if I didn’t trust you. I don’t reveal secrets, but on noticing that you are worried about Liam, I just decided to assist.” He explained, and although Philious was uninterested in his explanation, he nodded at him.
“How about I go and assist Liam, he definitely needs a shoulder to rely on,” Brandon said, laughing nervously.
“I highly doubt that.” Philious deadpanned with a grimace on his face, as he remembered what he saw on Liam’s phone.
Brandon was confused, and he looked at Philious with furrowed brows, expecting a clarification, but when he realized that Philious would be ignoring him all day, he reluctantly flashed him a shy smile and left to look for Liam.
Philious sat down, deep in thought, he kept sighing repeatedly, murmuring some words to himself.
“Hey quiet one, I am so sorry to disturb your alone moment, but please, do you know where Liam is?” Rachel’s voice echoed in the room, and Philious quickly stood up, a challenging look on his face.
“Why are you looking for Liam?” He asked with raised brows, his eyes squinted as he looked at Rachel.
“Hey, calm your nerves down, buddy. I mean no harm! I just want to grab a few drinks with him.” Rachel said with a sarcasm filled voice, she gently placed her hand on Philious’s shoulder, but he pushed her hand away.
“Alcohol, I guess?” Philious murmured thoughtfully and shook his head. “Come on, he is too young to take alcohol. Moreover, I doubt he wants to see you, please, leave him alone. He is not interested in your body, try and work things out with Adriel!” He continued with a frustrated voice and took a deep breath.
Rachel looked shocked, and she looked at Philious with a grimace on her face.
“That’s rude, young man!” She cried out with a hoarse voice, looking at Philious with raging eyes, waiting for an apology.
Philious paid no attention to her, and shook his head sadly. Rachel continued her lamenting, and it was about to be excavated, fortunately, Vagon arrived just in time to save the day.
“What is going on here… My gentle people?” Vagon asked awkwardly and burst into laughter.
“Why is he acting like Liam’s husband? He is very rude and disrespectful towards me!” Rachel groaned out to Vagon. Vagon was surprised, Philious might be a quiet man, but he is not disrespectful, especially towards a woman.
“Liam’s husband?” Vagon laughed nervously, wondering what he should say. Philious on the other hand was furious because Rachel called him Liam’s husband.
“Liam is my little brother, and I have every right to protect him, especially when I see a predator,” Philious said curtly, and sighed in desperation.
“Philious, she is not a predator. Ahhhh!” Vagon interrupted before Rachel could talk. He took a deep breath and gently pulled Rachel into his arms.
Although Rachel was angry, she didn’t pull away from Vagon and they both left the scene.
A few minutes later, Vagon returned. Philious looked at him curiously, knowing he might get scolded. Vagon didn’t say anything, instead he gently hugged Philious.
“Big P, I know you are trying to protect Liam but Rachel is right, you are acting like his boyfriend. I mean, I know you like him, but -”
“What do you mean by I like him, Vagon?” Philious asked, cutting Vagon’s words short. Vagon looked genuinely surprised and he quietly scolded himself.
“I mean you like him… As a brother. I also like you,” Vagon stuttered, unsure of what to say.
“You are really something else,” Philious muttered and shook his head. The two men looked at each other suspiciously for a while, before they burst into laughter.
“But, I really like you. In fact, I love you, bro,” Vagon playfully said with a seductive voice and gently punched Philious’s arm.
“Whatever, but I won’t say it back to you!” Philious warned, and burst into more laughter.
“Aww, you look so cute,” Vagon squealed, looking at Philious’ face. “It’s rare to see you smile. The last time I saw you this happy was when we met Liam,” he continued absentmindedly, a chessy look on his face. As Philious was about to protest, Adriel and Michael came to join them.
“Hey dudes,” Michael’s hoarse voice cleared the atmosphere, and Vagon quickly wrapped his arms around Philious’ neck.
“So Philious, will you really invite your girlfriend to the birthday party?” Vagon asked, trying to change the topic, but he only made the atmosphere more awkward.
Michael and Adriel looked confused, and they looked at Vagon with furrowed brows. Philious cleared his throat and removed Vagon’s arms.
“No, I won’t be inviting any girl!” Philious replied, making sure he stressed the ‘girl’ part. Vagon laughed nervously, while Michael and Adriel looked at him curiously.
“Humm, okay,” Vagon nodded his head. “Adriel, I think we should talk to Logan, he is our little brother after all.” He continued after a minute of prolonged silence, and Michael nodded in agreement.
“For once you’ve said something sensible, Vagon. I think Adriel should talk to him first, then we can intervene if their conversation gets awkward.” Michael chipped in, and the two men, Vagon and Philious were in agreement.
“That’s a good idea, guys.” Philious added and looked at Adriel for his contribution.
“Well, it is a good idea, but it will be too awkward for me. I can’t remember the last time I spoke with him, I mean we barely see each other.” Adriel confessed and shook his head. “I don’t think I want to have a conversation with him,” he continued.
“Oh come on, man! You are Adriel Lupa. Thousands of people are scared of the ferocious vampire who can consume a huge container of fresh blood and still look for more!” Vagon exclaimed excitedly, hoping to cheer Adriel up, but his words sounded awkward, and the three other men looked at him with disgust.
“That is so gross, Vagon. Doesn’t it sound awkward in your mouth?” Philious questioned with a twisted lip.
“I was just joking around,” Vagon said, hoping his friends would stop the questioning looks.
Adriel wanted to argue, but he knew it was pointless, because sooner than later, he would have to talk to Logan.
‘How bad can it be?’ He thought to himself before taking a deep breath. A deep frown settled on his face, and he had a ruthless demeanor.
“Whatever. I will do it.” Adriel informed them, and Vagon raised his fists triumphantly. They walked out of the room to the section where Logan was, and they saw him as he said his goodbye to Annabella.
“Who is that lady? She looks familiar.” Philious murmured thoughtfully, staring at Annabella.
